Have been to Alexander Cromwell and some other palces down there the people are chill and friendly nobody is ever in a rush there is no reason to rush no such thng as ruah hour traffic very calming and relaxing place
I have a son And his family in Cromwell my husband and I are in our 80's and cannot travel as we are in South Africa. Just want to thank you both for your awesome travel videos showing your amazing journey through New Zealand . Be blessed and further safe travels ❤
A climate map of NZ shows 8 different Koppen types. Central Otago is one of those places that has climate types that arent Oceanic. Its really nice down south and cant wait to get down there again
Get well soon Mado: We sure don't like it when we don't see you. Always happy and with a smile 😃. Thanks, Glen, for doing your part in Keeping us entertained. 1st class. Give Mado a Big hug. Longer.. That's better. Regards South Africa 🇿🇦.
While I'm sure you'll check out the main attractions of gore (Moonshine Museum, Art Gallery etc, depending on where you're heading next there are 2 must see's in the area. If you're heading east the "Tuapeka Punt" (open from 10am to 2pm depending on river conditions) is a free car ferry that crosses the Cultha River its powered entirely by the current of the river and goes back to the days before there were bridges across the river. If you're heading west, you should definitely stop at a little village called Mandeville which hosts the Croydon Aviation Centre, a big collection of historic planes, a nice little cafe and some of the cheapest scenic flights you can get in New Zealand.
Alexandra is my home town. Thyme goes wild as often considered a weed. But yes the region can very dry during the summer months as can most of new Zealand. I would suggest checking out pool burn and the Dunstan road track if you get a chance
The lower half of the East Coast of New Zealand can get very dry as well ... I've been in Napier\Hastings area in summer and everything was brown. The Wairarapa (Masterton etc.) also dries out and the fire risk is high.
Sorry Mado isn’t feeling too good at the moment. Any menstrual symptom, and they’re all horrible, relates to a hormonal imbalance. If you go to a health shop and get a zinc supplement and a Clinicians magnesium supplement it should help. They can be taken all year round, one of each with food in the morning and again at night. Let them know if you’re on any prescription meds. Fingers crossed and good luck.
I’m a Central girl and no matter where we roam in the world, coming down into Alex, smelling the thyme again - it’s always home.
I worked in Middlemarch, Ranfurly, Clyde and Cromwell in the late 70s.

Drooling now, there's nothing quite like a Jimmy's pie
Hahah wasn’t our favourite 🤣 it’s the cheaper pie if you want your pie fix though 😂
If you can drop by the actual orchards that grow each of those fruits, it's even cheaper! 😊
On ya Gezza doing our Country Proud brother u and Maddo both✌️safe travels you two
Thanks Shane 🙌
Thanks for another great vid from Central Otago. I’ll be visiting some of these spots you’ve highlighted next time I’m down there 😊

My great uncle operated the Tuapeka Ferry for quite a few years.

They could go over the old Dunstan road if they had a 4x4.
@@kiwihib I've done it before on Toyota corolla lol. Just depends on the condition of the track
@@thekiwinomadDangerous though, I remember seeing in the ODT a four-wheel drive club that got caught and snowed in on the road.

I hope you get over to Stewart Island too.
Take care of Mado time❤
If you come to Motueka I’ll take you to the best restaurant in New Zealand 🇳🇿
That clock is leaking thyme all over the hillsides......
Hahaha
Brilliant hahaha
I was about to add Tyme share clock😉 Great share Glen & Mado keep well. Hugs 🤗
Love from Nepal 🇳🇵🇳🇵
Waikaka my mum's town where she was raised you're right - not much there😂
Has Mado ever talked to a doctor about her issues with menstrual cycles?
It might be worth having a chat 😮
3:10 "we do not have Mado on top of the hill, it's that time of the month..." bro, did you have to share that?
Hello brother 👋👋👋
JIMMY's Pies were a horrible disappointment to me. You didn't miss much. There are lots more gourmet pie shops now.
Nothing better than a Jimmy's mutton pie, the others are nice too.
We had some afterwards not our favourite either lol. I mean they are much cheaper!
Are you going to the burt munro
We were in the area but never attended it unfortunately
Lol that's where I live
You went to see the time, and ended up seeing the thyme.
Yuppie 😂
