Kuina's death is referred to as she *fell down D. Stairs* Getting a wetstone for the sword. Her body is shown in the manga. Kuina's father tells Zoro, life can be so fragile and he is thankful to him because before he arrived Kuina had become cocky and Zoro was catching up quickly, which reignited her passion to grow stronger and she was desperately trying to keep the gap between them. Her sudden death is just to symbolize, doesnt matter how strong u are, you can just die, so he has to be the strongest, stronger then death, which explains alot of his actions later.
Just to show the insane juxtaposition that her sudden death due to fate with Zoro beating fate so it doesn’t kill him, Zoro has never lost a fight after vowing it aloud as a solemn promise. But also, he’s a doofus who’s constantly lost, tried using 3 swords after Kuina beat him and he thought more can do it, and also the most loyal friend a person could have if he considers you one.

In the original Captain Kuro has a hypnotist on his crew who looks like Steven Tyler but moves like Michael Jackson. Years ago they raided a Marine ship and killed everyone except for 2. Jango hypnotizes 1 person to think he's Kuro and the other the think he caught Kuro. The latter turns out to be a nobody named Morgan. He is swiftly promoted for a deed he never accomplished. This explanation happens so fast it's easy to miss but in retrospect explains why Captain Morgan is both arrogant and not cut out for a role he never earned. Just one small detail that interconnects characters in a deeper way that's not necessary but Oda fills all over 1000 chapters with.
Oda was asked a long time ago, why the rivals are not dying..and he replied :- In this world of pirates, everyone is going after their dreams, when they are defeated, its more of their dream getting destroyed, that is death to them, the body is just a husk afterwards.

oh, one thing to mention is that the one piece world is like 10x bigger than ours. meaning once you sail away... you're as good as gone most of the time.
Zoro is using three swords because he's training to be the greatest swordsman for both him and Kuina. So he's literally training as if there's two of them in her honor.

The actor playing Koby played him well since Koby is a little weakling in the beginning. The east blue is just a trial, basically a preparation for what's to come. The maturity level will constantly go up from here on out. In the the live action and in the story.
in the manga it's explained that Kuro can move at high speed, but does not have the training needed to actually control himself at the same time - so he goes fast, slices people, but is totally indiscriminate about it, hitting the walls of the small canyon they fight in, and even slicing his crew up. The arc in the live action is interesting enough, and i know they would have been constrained in many ways, but i feel like Kuro was done a bit dirty.
On Zoro's Flashback and Kuina, I think I underestimated how much my knowledge of the manga made me overlook certain parts, mind you, I do think episodes 3 and 4 are the sloppiest of the live action, but I do want to mention a couple of things that didn't make it to the adaptation that I feel color the backstory differently. So, the guy with glasses in Zoro's flashback is not only the master of the school, he is actually Kuina's dad. At one point, Kuina confronts him on why he won't train her like the other boys, and he tells her to her face It's because she's a girl, and she'll never get to be as strong as a man, so, ehn she repeats that after she beats Zoro, it comes off less like that It's something she believes and more like something she's resigned herself to after her own fatter and master told her. On her dead, I don't think I can call it anything other than fridging; yes, she dies falling down the starii off camara, and her death is done to inform Zoro's character more than anything--for Zoro, death is a mundane thing that can happen at any point and for any reason, without any glory. Not accomplishing his dream is a faith worse than death for him, that's why Kuina's dead is almost comically sudden and mundane. I'm not saying it can't be criticized, but I would argue is better in the manga/anime and sadly got lost in the time limitations of this adaptation.
Well the story does get veeeeeery explicitly political and anti-fascist later on but right now we're still in the kiddie-pool, so to speak. There's a little bit of it towards the end of this season but nothing compared to what'll come later. Like without spoiling anything, the manga is currently in the middle of a flashback to how exactly a veeeery plot-relevant antifa militia formed a few decades ago and how that relates to some of the key characters in the story. If there's one thing you'll come to learn about Oda, it's that the man is not exactly a fan of being subtle lol.

Zoro sliced Mr.7 in half in the original as well. Never shown, but stated by Oda when a fan asked more about Zoro. Just so people know this part of the manga was written back in the 90s it was targeted for young boys and Oda was sort of new to this. The maid and chef weren’t a maid and chef in the anime. They were just members of Kuro’s large pirate crew that came to attack the whole village, with Kaya being the main target. And they were both men, named the “Meowban Brothers”. Kuro’s plan made more sense in the anime because the plan was for the pirates to attack the whole village with Kaya “coincidentally” being one of the victims, and Kuro’s hypnotist first mate would hypnotize her into leaving everything to her butler in her will. Here, his plan makes no sense because they just immediately went to murdering her after sealing the house with the shutters, leaving them as the prime suspects in her murder. The anime version of this arc is better.

Not sure how in depth the love action will go into the hidden story told throughout one piece, but yes the original gets very deep for those who wish to actually look past the surface. But that is also one of the amazing things about one piece and Oda's writing, if you want to enjoy a simple pirate story, you can, but if you want to read a beautifully crafted epic tale that is it's own journey that lies just under the surface, then all it takes is an open mind. I HIGHLY recommend watching Mama Drawk read and breakdown one piece because she will open your eyes to things written in the story that most simply overlook and she is brilliant!!!
Funny thing is that the deepness people are talking bout would make this your type of show but won’t knock u on not watching 1000+ episodes (even if it’s worth it). Sadly don’t think the live action will go that way cause it’s not enough time. Just know one piece is VERY POLITICAL
So Garp being revealed as Luffy's grandpa doesnt come until much much later in the original story. For context, its like 300 episodes into the anime when we find out. Also Ill say this, Luffy's whole family is a bunch of demons. I wont reveal who we see, but even the characters mention how wild and powerful his family is.
Manga soource: Kuina just fell the stairs. Her body was on the ground with a handkierchief at her face and a blanket at her legs while villagers keep arriving in awe. Zoro despairs and her father (the Master) told him about the fragility of life. Zoro ask for her sword wich blade contains her soul and wishes... And then her father training him on the next ten years. Besides in two advanced manga covers its shown her father at her grave leaving flowers, incenses, and newsspaper with news of Zoro.... So, yes she died. P.S. Whats the problem of the green hair girl? LOL! She said some stuffs so wild and out of reality! LOL!
You wouldn't give a butler a 5/5 because he's a murderer? I'd totally give it to him, that's fulfilling every single role a butler is meant to. Hope they were paying him well.
In a lot of parts in latin america there is different kinds of mix between races, so luffy having literally a european descendant like his grandfather is not crazy at all and works great here, just look at canelo the boxer, his parents have more indigenous descent while he looks more european, the mestizaje in latin america can be so unpredictable.
I always felt like Kuina dying to stairs was hilarious because she's a freaking swordman who needs extreme balance and footwork to literally survive. Why not have her die to illness or have her snap her neck riding her favorite horse? Like literally anything but stairs, ha ha.
I mean it does kinda sound anticlimactic and rather inane, but at the same time I love it ever since I first read about it because of how realistic it is. People die from rather mundane accidents all the time, even those who you think would be the last person who would ever die like that.
While Oda is well known for linking seemingly inconsequential stuff/person in the grand scheme of things (IE the recurring Panda motive guy), there would still be elements where it is what it is so I'm guessing the comment section did troll you guys for a bit there
@@blackhawk9784 she really would've started acting like a cat purring and everything while playing with the ball of yarn. I can only imagine how she would've reacted to some catnip lmao 🤣🤣🤣💯
Bruhhhh im super progressive as well but l, even though im not a swordsman myself, have seen plenty of videos about it and know that men just have larger reach than women, and combined with general strength is why men have advantage over women. Don't let the wokeness cloud your common sense 😭😭 lol Kuina's doubts make sense. With technique and skill, she could overcome those weaknesses, but it is still a valid doubt to have. Knowing about how important reach is made that moment so tough, when she voices how she thinks Zoro will inevitably be better than her, so it hits the heart better when Zoro commits to training with her every day. So while the diologue might seem out of touch and may seem out of place in the now and day, they let it be because it is a realistic obstacle with any hand to hand combat (weapon or not). "A girl can beat a man, but no woman can beat a man". Like, its not exclusively true, but in her mind its a mountain. Their height, reach, strength will always be an advantage. Im confused as to Morgan and the others reactions to that moment 🙃
In the original version kuina's cause of death is that she fell down the stairs a tragic sudden end, if she fell down the stairs or "fell down the stairs" has being object of discutió in the OP comunity for literal decades
I like how they handled Kuro's fight, specifically his speed, in the anime far more. The fight still had quite a bit of posturing of course, but his speed had a drawback to it. He would cut up *everything* while moving ridiculously fast. However, because he moves so fast, he can't really see what he's cutting or control his targets well. Comparatively, in the live action it seems like he has very good control over his movement, yet for some unknown reason holds back on impaling everyone, when it would be simple for him to do so.
Yeah, many guys have pointed Kuina's accident. Since it was written in the 97, and genre being Shonen, the accident can be viewed as, she was holding her sword, and fell down the stairs, and maybe the sword sliced here gut or neck or it went through her.
@@HorseandHattock It was said in the manga/anime, she was looking for a sharpening stone to sharpen her sword, and fell down the stairs of the storehouse.
Imo Syrup Village was handled much better here than in the anime. Sure some details were left out, but it drags on so badly in the anime that it’s only a handful of 20 min. episodes but I can’t bring myself to watch all of them again. I’m caught up with the manga and anime, and trying to rewatch the anime from the start, but I’ve been stuck on the Syrup Village episodes for weeks. 🥲 This is luckily the only arc I’ve ever had trouble watching, though.

I don't mind the accent myself, as people do emulate the people they are around especially children. Accents set in for most at around 12, and they're pretty hard to change for some people.
Okay, in Kuro's defense. How was he supposed to know Luffy was a super human with Devil Fruit powers?
my theory is that he lost his american accent due to his grandfather, mixing the two accent and sounding like that XD
I mean I think it's funny that you figured out Nami isn't working for the marines because everybody has those phones instead of because she was stealing from the marines to begin with, but whatever makes the equation work 😅
gotta say its fun watching you guys come up with so many wrong theories 😂
I usually don't dub go random react channels but literally no one else made so many snuff jokes and the swimsuit joke on episode one actually gave me an unexpected laugh so im gonna sub.
18:35 theres a 100 chapter story behind that accident .
Kuina is dead. Her death is what motivates Zoro to accomplish his dream. It would go against that if she was not actually dead.
18:48 was WILD for the anime/manga fans 🤣 JFC don’t hold back or anything
Funny thing is that the deepness people are talking bout would make this your type of show but won’t knock u on not watching 1000+ episodes (even if it’s worth it). Sadly don’t think the live action will go that way cause it’s not enough time. Just know one piece is VERY POLITICAL
id just recommend a read personally - ofc an anime reaction would be amazing but your point is obviously valid: Very long indeed.
She fell down the stairs while looking for something to sharpen her sword. (Prob got impaled)
So Garp being revealed as Luffy's grandpa doesnt come until much much later in the original story. For context, its like 300 episodes into the anime when we find out. Also Ill say this, Luffy's whole family is a bunch of demons. I wont reveal who we see, but even the characters mention how wild and powerful his family is.
everyday we get closer to episode 5 and 6
The cat pirate playing with his prey
25:56 He only uses 3 sword style when he needs to. Not all enemies are worthy of the Wado Ichimonji.
Never thought about it before in the background of casa Drase but…are those modular synths?
Kurt is playing with his food like a cat
LOL!
Accurate edit of kuina dying lmfao
that kid rehab shit still happens my best friend got kidnapped and lived in the wood for a year, its terrible
19:25 Yes! I absolutely would love to have the Wado Ichimonji.
Kuina died by _falling_ for the plot of Down D. Stairs.
15:44 Some feeling got hurt? hahaha
Kuina died as she fell down the stairs carrying a whetstone to sharpen her sword so that she could duel with Zoro.
Kuina is Zoro's cousin and the instructor is her father.
Interesting commentary in a certain part of this video. I wonder how they'd feel about the anime.
Kuina fell down d stairs
I always felt like Kuina dying to stairs was hilarious because she's a freaking swordman who needs extreme balance and footwork to literally survive. Why not have her die to illness or have her snap her neck riding her favorite horse? Like literally anything but stairs, ha ha.
I mean it does kinda sound anticlimactic and rather inane, but at the same time I love it ever since I first read about it because of how realistic it is. People die from rather mundane accidents all the time, even those who you think would be the last person who would ever die like that.
It's simply to show a point, that even the strongest people can die from the simplest things.
How has no one mentioned Down D. Stairs in the comments?
Captain Kuro:👿Sounds like we got a bigger rat problem than I thought 😈Maybe we need a cat in the house.
While Oda is well known for linking seemingly inconsequential stuff/person in the grand scheme of things (IE the recurring Panda motive guy), there would still be elements where it is what it is so I'm guessing the comment section did troll you guys for a bit there
I know this is a shonen so it's all about the protag, bit I'm bummed Kaya didn't get to save herself 😭
Kuina died to stairs..
Lazer pointer 😅😅😅😅😅
That was hilarious 😂😂😂😂. It would've been just as funny if he would've thrown a ball of yarn or something 😂😂
@@Corey313 lmao u right
@@blackhawk9784 she really would've started acting like a cat purring and everything while playing with the ball of yarn. I can only imagine how she would've reacted to some catnip lmao 🤣🤣🤣💯
She is gone but anime give you more Informationen about how she died
Bruh the claws dont retract
Stairs 1, Kuina 0
Iñaki is the goat
Yeah, many guys have pointed Kuina's accident. Since it was written in the 97, and genre being Shonen, the accident can be viewed as, she was holding her sword, and fell down the stairs, and maybe the sword sliced here gut or neck or it went through her.
I mean or she just fell down the stairs and broke her neck cause she fell down stairs.
@@HorseandHattock It was said in the manga/anime, she was looking for a sharpening stone to sharpen her sword, and fell down the stairs of the storehouse.
@@lonewolf9325 I'm aware, I just think stairs are capable enough of killing her on their own.
@@HorseandHattock yeah..humans are such fragile things.

Kuina is dead like dead death....
On the point of One Piece not liking to kill characters...
You have NO fucking idea....

Captain Kuro: 👿There you are miss Kaya. Kaya:😱😱😱 Captain Kuro: 👿It’s your birthday IT’S TIME TO DIE!
