Wondering if you can help. Ive tried a few settings but I cant get the game to see my wireless drums as drums. It starts up as vocals.
If your deluxe doesn't work it's because the ISO you "borrowed from a friend" isn't USA region. Only USA region Rock Band 2 works with the patch.

make sure you're looking in RPCS3 -> config -> input_configs -> BLUS30147 -> Default

yes, RB2 Deluxe has menu music from all the main RB games ported in which is cool. The RB3 song is Milquetoast & Co. - Love and Tonic

Some songs just don’t convert and will fail every time. I don’t know how to fix that

Do you know if it's possible to get the bottom fret buttons on a rockband guitar to work properly for solos? (ie not having to strum)
In the controller binding menu, I know you can set your controller as a guitar for either GH or RB. Try setting it as a RB guitar and see if the solo buttons work. I haven’t tested that so I’m not sure
@@Derpferdler Already have it set to RB guitar unfortunately. What's kinda strange is that the bottom frets seem to be their own buttons (green is button 7... not actually sure about the other ones didn't check) but in game you can use them just as the top frets.
I actually got it working in case anyone else runs into this problem! You just map "Button 7" to L2. There was actually a thing on the RPCS3 wiki that said L2 was supposed to be the "solo modifier" but I didn't understand what that meant when I was first setting it up.
Is there anyway to play rock band in the controller? I mean without any instruments, just setting the configs to seems like a guitar or drums
Rb2 deluxe has a modifier that lets you play guitar (and maybe drums) with a regular controller

Im using a PS3 Rock Band guitar with USB dongle. My computer seems to read it fine but every button color note button shows as button 7? Anyone have any ideas?? Thank you.

If I were you, I’d download all the sum 41 songs off Chorus, then convert them to rb2 format with Onyx

i don't know why you wouldn't be able to...? It's just in the tweaks menu
@@Derpferdler Everytime I restarted the game it reverted back to the default 30fps. Also I prefer the OG gems and I check that in the modifiers. They do not save after a restart either. Appreciate if you see anything obvious.

I put RB2 deluxe on my jailbroken ps3 to wait for my ps3 guitar to come in and i looked in the options and i can actually play without a guitar sweet

@@RedEyedEaglez yeah you are actually able to you just need to have the right software (onyx converter) and a ps3 thats jailbroken and can install package files so that means no reactpsn required.

you can make an "unused songs" folder within the same folder your songs are kept in and put unwanted songs in there. Then they won't show up in game

@@Derpferdler must be your pc ngl i play on a gaming laptop and it does 60fps smoothly it rarely lags or the screen tears but im pretty sure that’s normal. I also downloaded TBRB on vimms lair.

Yep, just convert songs to RB2 PS3 format with Onyx, then transfer the pkg files to your ps3 console

if you're able to connect them to your PC via Bluetooth or something, then sure
@@Derpferdler I did, and everything seems to work fine under the Windows controller settings, but when I try to set it up in RPCS3, the only control that seems to have any function is the Orange fret.
EDIT: I got it to work after I clicked FILTER NOISE. It then allowed me to remap the buttons and everything works fine. Gotta watch closer!

I don’t think so. At the moment the patch is for 360/ps3. You never know what the future holds though!
You’ll just have to stick with the PS3 emulator to play the game without spending much expensive money.

@@Derpferdler the downloads section of the rb2dx page only links to the github and a precompiled build for actual hardware instead of the xbox and ps3 mirrors in the video. not sure where to find the pkg file now
Is it safe to assume custom RB3 songs won't work?
RB2 format custom songs work on RB2 and 3 so if you're converting songs with Onyx, just convert them to RB2 format
