Sana is different than Tzuyu's because hers is the "Spin The Wheel" concept and all of the options in the wheel are supposed to be her. The theme overall of Yes Or Yes MV is about fate/destiny but also about luck/variables and the lack of choice you have. So Nayeon is the Zultar type of future predictor, Jeongyeon is a mysterious driver symbolizing the concept of destiny and what paths it's chosen for you, Momo is the playing with fire you might get burn saying where you have no control if you actually do or do not get hurt, Sana as I said spin the wheel, Jihyo is like the end of the road where Jeongyeon takes you, because she is the only one to appears solo in the TwiceSquare bridge where all your choices are supposed to led you in the MV, Mina is the crystal ball fortune teller, Dahyun is a magician tricking you with coins and boxes, Chaeyoung is the tarot reading fortune teller and finally Tzuyu is the illusionist multiplying herself.

Aw I love that philosophy at the end there! It definitely worked in my case, just earlier today I was showing the videos for Alcohol-Free and What Is Love to someone and caught myself just singing and smiling along. TWICE songs are slowly becoming mood boosters and comfort songs for me, that development is so interesting, I never would’ve guessed I’d enjoy their songs so much 😄
Hi Sarah, thanks for loving Twice and listening to their music more. As you can see, when you watch Twice title tracks in chronological order, you can understand where they will come up next. They started from from a little lady, where love was introduced (Like ohh ahh mv). Upto I can't Stop Me, where they can't get stop what they really want to feel when they're in a relationship. It's like a sequence of story where they started how love was, what is the meaning of love, how was it if you're in love, you wanted more love, and when you're in a relationship, you can't stop love. It's basically that hahaha. I hope you understand my explanation lol! There's always so much more than cuteness going on in Twice MV's. It's why I immediately fell in love with them when I saw Likey, which I saw when it was released and it was my introduction to them. I don't like any other 'cute' groups. If you can find a copy of Love Letter you should watch it. I've never found one with subtitles. The cinematography is breathtaking and the story will break your heart. Maybe it's better there aren't subtitles.
I began to fall in love with Twice through the many RUclips videos about them (non-MV's). Their personalities and lack of pretentiousness have endeared me to them. It wasn't until later that I started checking their music and I did not expect to get hooked. Their B-sides and slow tracks are definitely must-adds to anybody's playlist. With that said, I suggest you start with their earlier videos , MVs or music so you can really see how they have evolved over the years.

I was wondering if you would react to "Make You Happy" and "Step and a Step" by NiziU? They're the new Japanese girl group under JYP and they made their official debut on 12/2 with "Step and a Step." "Make You Happy" is their pre-debut song. I guess they're kinda cutesy, but maybe you'll like them. Also, I know they're Japanese songs but it was uploaded under JYP's channel, so it should be fine(others have reacted to the songs).

What's great about the movies selected for "What is Love" is that they're actually examples of movies with either unconventional, taboo, or doomed romances. It adds an extra layer of depth that indicates that maybe using popular media as models of relationships may not actually be healthy or happy or otherwise unrealistic. Though, an argument can be made that the conclusion of The Princess Diaries was self-empoweringly positive.
So the story of What Is Love is that they're all watching movies to gain an understanding of love. But all of the movies they're watching do not have happy endings. So what's the real lesson? Maybe love starts with loving yourself first - and that's why we see Nayeon transformed into someone who's confident and lovely. WIL is one of their favorite MVs ever - they liked the choreo and all of the costume changes. They did a slower version in concert, which is exquisite. They also did a practice version, dedicated to the fandom, which is totally adorable. The MAMA version is also fantastic and shows how much stage presence they have. If you take TWICE discography in vaccum especially their TITLE TRACKS - it vaguely depicts a cute story of young female (also male in some aspects) who has just started to feel the emotion of loving someone Essentially as TWICE matures in their musicality you can also get that the young female / male is also maturing in their love story The reason why many fall for TWICE is simple They just charm you TWICE like their name suggests 1) With their catchy & iconic music 2) With their visuals & performances especially the choreo That's why many people including haters who once hated TWICE fell in deep for them For me - I fell for them instantly when I listened to LIKEY and watched the MV the first time And the fact I was never really into KPOP especially cute stuff ( I was more into Bollywood & mainstream ENGLISH POP especially the edgy ones lol ) shows volumes of how much mass appeal TWICE has while being stigmatized with being cute They are one of the biggest groups for this very reason ( could have been even as big as BTS if JYPE actually promoted them properly especially from artists POV) They just appeal to many people of different age groups while some do take time like yourself but the impact is still same Now if you listen to TWICE songs I'm sure you will rate it way higher than when you first listened to them !! Hi! For the video of Yes or Yes Mv, the reason of their own sets that you have found confusing is this (my own opinion) : All of them are in a carnival type of place called "Twice Square" with each scenes of their own. Nayeon has scenes that have to do with choosing only yes or yes. For Jeongyeon, most of her lines are about selfishness and shameelessness so you will find her first as the driver in a car where she went to a dead end which was really "Twice Square" or a secret place of twice. Jeongyeon as the driver represents her selfishness where she bring her lover to a place where he can't escape. Momo is playing with fire because her lines says "burn burn burn" with hypnotizing eyes. For Sana, and Tzuyu where they multiply or have many versions of their own selves, it matches the lyrics of their parts like for tzuyu, "If it’s too hard, there are examples to choose from" is included in her line so she (herself) was the examples that's why she is three. It means that even if there are examples to choose, she will still be the one that will be chosen. For Sana where she's so many in the second verse, "Whatever you choose, you will be with me" is a part of her lines where an arrow points at here while moving so it means that even if you trigger the bow, Sana will still be the one who will be shot. For Jihyo, her scene is that there are so many stoplights around her but only on the way where Jihyo stands is the traffic light that says "Go". I think that it means that the guy has no other option but to take the road where Jihyo stands. Mina has her own crystal ball because her lines are about insisting, forcing, or hypnotizing the guy. Dahyun is inside a treasure box full of coins saying yes. Chaeyoung has her own fortune telling stand using cards saying yes or yes.
JYP has always used the same video production company for all his artists, so you'll see the same style a lot. After the shooting of More and More there was scandal involving the video company when they were accused of plagiarizing the design of the set you see in the water in the outdoor segment. He dropped the company and I Can't Stop Me was done by a different production company, which I think is actually better than the old one. The scene where you mentioned green screen is green screen. All the people dancing in the background are the members, duplicate several times.

I think Twice is cute but that word comes with a stigma that it will be cringy and for some reason I dont find Twice cringy despite thier cute songs, I find thier songs to have more substance and that took me a while to catch on to.

Yes or Yes. Twice are witches (check their eyes) and the song takes place in a supernatural theme park that Jeongyeon takes you to after picking you up on a lonely country road. The park, Twice Square, has elements from different kinds of amusement parks but pretty much based on the American carnival/circus variety. The girls have different powers that they show you during the song. Sana is running the Wheel of Fortune and what you win is a Sana if you hit the YES, so there have to be lots of prizes. Nayeon is the mechanical figure in the booth that you ask a question that can only be answered yes or no. Chaeyoung is the Tarot card reader, Mina uses a crystal ball to tell the future, Momo is the fire juggler, Tzuyu just seems to be enjoying herself at the popcorn wagon and the shooting gallery. It just goes on like that. Maybe you don't have these kind of parks in your country? The images are all very familiar to me and remind me of the old movie Something Wicked This Way Comes.

For me - I fell for them instantly when I listened to LIKEY and watched the MV the first time
And the fact I was never really into KPOP especially cute stuff ( I was more into Bollywood & mainstream ENGLISH POP especially the edgy ones lol ) shows volumes of how much mass appeal TWICE has while being stigmatized with being cute
They are one of the biggest groups for this very reason ( could have been even as big as BTS if JYPE actually promoted them properly especially from artists POV)
They just appeal to many people of different age groups while some do take time like yourself but the impact is still same
Now if you listen to TWICE songs I'm sure you will rate it way higher than when you first listened to them !!
Their growth is endearing and that's why I keep supporting them regardless of issues with their company
WHAT IS LOVE also is one of the most interesting MV & SONGS considering you can find layers of how the girls perceive love as

Most of the movie references they have put in the MV have actually a sad & dark ending to the love story

Hi! For the video of Yes or Yes Mv, the reason of their own sets that you have found confusing is this (my own opinion) :
All of them are in a carnival type of place called "Twice Square" with each scenes of their own.
Nayeon has scenes that have to do with choosing only yes or yes.
For Jeongyeon, most of her lines are about selfishness and shameelessness so you will find her first as the driver in a car where she went to a dead end which was really "Twice Square" or a secret place of twice. Jeongyeon as the driver represents her selfishness where she bring her lover to a place where he can't escape.
Momo is playing with fire because her lines says "burn burn burn" with hypnotizing eyes.
For Sana, and Tzuyu where they multiply or have many versions of their own selves, it matches the lyrics of their parts like for tzuyu, "If it’s too hard, there are examples to choose from" is included in her line so she (herself) was the examples that's why she is three. It means that even if there are examples to choose, she will still be the one that will be chosen. For Sana where she's so many in the second verse, "Whatever you choose, you will be with me" is a part of her lines where an arrow points at here while moving so it means that even if you trigger the bow, Sana will still be the one who will be shot.
For Jihyo, her scene is that there are so many stoplights around her but only on the way where Jihyo stands is the traffic light that says "Go". I think that it means that the guy has no other option but to take the road where Jihyo stands.
Mina has her own crystal ball because her lines are about insisting, forcing, or hypnotizing the guy.
Dahyun is inside a treasure box full of coins saying yes.
Chaeyoung has her own fortune telling stand using cards saying yes or yes.
JYP has always used the same video production company for all his artists, so you'll see the same style a lot. After the shooting of More and More there was scandal involving the video company when they were accused of plagiarizing the design of the set you see in the water in the outdoor segment. He dropped the company and I Can't Stop Me was done by a different production company, which I think is actually better than the old one.
The scene where you mentioned green screen is green screen. All the people dancing in the background are the members, duplicate several times.

I think Twice is cute but that word comes with a stigma that it will be cringy and for some reason I dont find Twice cringy despite thier cute songs, I find thier songs to have more substance and that took me a while to catch on to.

Yes or Yes. Twice are witches (check their eyes) and the song takes place in a supernatural theme park that Jeongyeon takes you to after picking you up on a lonely country road. The park, Twice Square, has elements from different kinds of amusement parks but pretty much based on the American carnival/circus variety. The girls have different powers that they show you during the song. Sana is running the Wheel of Fortune and what you win is a Sana if you hit the YES, so there have to be lots of prizes. Nayeon is the mechanical figure in the booth that you ask a question that can only be answered yes or no. Chaeyoung is the Tarot card reader, Mina uses a crystal ball to tell the future, Momo is the fire juggler, Tzuyu just seems to be enjoying herself at the popcorn wagon and the shooting gallery. It just goes on like that. Maybe you don't have these kind of parks in your country? The images are all very familiar to me and remind me of the old movie Something Wicked This Way Comes.
