2022 and this info still holds up pretty well. Pro Tip: Imagine a man standing in front of the target. His head will be the bullseye. You'll want your shots to land on the line between the first and second white ring; Bodymass. In WoR, if a bullet hits you ANYWHERE, it's a kill. With guys lined up shoulder to shoulder and no gap, if you aim for bodymass, you may not hit the guy you're aiming at but, will hit the guy next to him. Aiming at the head leaves a higher probability of missing since there are at least a 2 foot gap between heads. At 02:25, that's a miss. @03:01 is another miss.
If you picture a Man standing in front of the target his head would actually be where the dot in the middle is. The regiments I have trained so far all teach to hit no higher than the center. Above that you probably suppress a target but don't hit them. Everything from center down would be a hit.
Hello mate, I'm a new player, just a couple hours of game but I actually hit a 300 with m1841 so I feel pretty proud :D Anyway I see that you can get across 2 targets if you click shoot button twice really quick, why is that? Is that an error or "bullets" actually get across things? Thanks!

Why the hell do they have a sight for 500 yards? like seriously? I mean even if they truly had those sights, there is no reason to have them in this game because you can barely see them past 250 yards and even if you do, these guns are so inaccurate at that range that its undeniably useless...

YES!! Also, the Pattern Enfield has adjustable sights allowing you to make really long-range shots. My record is 428 yards. That's only cuz I can't find a spot farther away where I can still see the target.
Years of playing. You just kind of know after a while. Same way a baseball player knows exactly where a pop fly is going to land before it's halfway through its arc.
If you are using the Sharps or Pattern Enfiel, you can compare them to the size of your front and rear sights. I their shoulders fit snugly between the edges of your rear sight, they are 100 yards away. If your front post is half their height, they are 150 yards away. If they fit snugly between your front post and the side of your rear post, they are 200 yards away. If your front post completely covers them, they are 250 yards or further. The Pattern Enfield and The Springfield 1853 have adjustable sights so you can REALLY reach out and touch someone from the next zip code. It's just take a lot of practice and just a little bit of luck.

Like we fight. LOL. Nah, most of the companies have drill servers up. Just log into one and go to their range. The CSA has a better infantry range as you can get 300+ yard shots. The USA, I can only find spots 150 yards away.

@@OttratheFox It takes 2 stabs, always. However, you can take damage from artillery and not realize it. Good idea though. I will work on a melee guide soon.
This is a Civil War Re-enactment feel. You never know if you hit the target. About the most unrealism you get is the HUD elements. I would like them to get rid of as much HUD elements as possible and REPLACE them with in-game elements. Such as a hand-held compass, maybe even open a hand-held map (but you could only know where you are by land marks), and Leaders should get some sort of spyglass and I think Flag Bearers should also be able to use Flag Signals to communicate between companies (although most of the time, you see platoon-sized groups rather than companies).
@@vysearcadia522 Flag beaerer and signal corps are two different jobs. Signal Corps would be attached to a cavalry division. The reason there are no hit markers is because it isn't about 1 man 1 kill. It's about one line 30 kills. The US Army cited that a 30 man line downing only 10 men in a volley to be combat effective. It's not the accuracy of the soldier, it's the quantity of bullets sent downrange at the same time. Quantity over quality in the case of Napoleonic Tactics.

There is a huge irony with the Springfield performing better than the Enfield, in RL the Enfield was greater accuracy and longer range.

Yeah ide say the field of view in this game is utter shyt. Your sight is already incredibly small, stack an enemy who is hard to see Without ADS.
I can hit the target comfortably at 180-200yards love sneaking round the back of artillery and infantry causing havoc
Out of curiosity does anyone know when or if I should even use the sight adjustment for the rifle at all?
Pretty much never. Only at the range to impress your friends.

@4:20 You just Ichabod Craned ole dude. ROFL
How long would you have to be apart for you to have time to fix bayonets and then shot 3 to 4 times when the enemy is charging
You dont have alot of time so if the enemy is about 100 meters away and charging i wouldnt reload and just fix the bayonet
Are these targets in a server that I could access?
The server is called "Player Training - 3rdUS.com" and is owned by me and therefore always up 😀
Thanks for the video, I'd like a lean left and right. Although no deal breaker! This game is really good.
