  • As part of the 2023 LMB Open Day, Nina Rzechorzek gave a talk to a packed lecture theatre about her research on the human brain temperature.
Nina is a researcher in John O’Neill’s group, which is part of the LMB Cell Biology Division. The group’s research is focused on understanding the fundamental mechanisms of daily cellular timekeeping and how circadian regulation of biological function is achieved.
What is the temperature of your brain? Watch this recording of Nina Rzechorzek’s LMB Open Day talk to find out how they built the first 4D map of human brain temperature, with the potential to transform patient care and our understanding of how the brain works around the clock.

About the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB):
The LMB is one of the world's leading research institutes. Discoveries and inventions developed at the LMB, for example DNA sequencing and methods to determine the structure of proteins, have revolutionised all areas of biology. Its scientists work to advance understanding of biological processes at the molecular level. This information will help us to understand the workings of complex systems, such as the immune system and the brain, and solve key problems in human health.
