Paint tech has come along way from when i started back in the 70's but i'm still at it and enjoy watching you guys . I also bought the Porphis 717 what a great gun for the price.👍
You guys should use 493 harder for the base. It dries faster and doesnt soemmthing where the clear addhears better. It sucks tho bc rhen your paint has a shelf life😊
Hi Paul, looks like you have got a very nice setup at your new place mate it looks very state of the art with those modern IR driers, I've heard Gunny complain quite a bit in the past about the PPG system but he seems a lot happier with it these days, Gabe meanwhile loves the system and puts out some amazing jobs with it👌 PPG seems to supply different types of paints and clears depending on what part of the world you are, maybe it's just me🤔🤷♂👍
@JohnWD40TC02 yea it's a nice place, it'll just be a learning curve but if the colour needs blending and we haven't prepped for that by the time it's in the booth it could cause problems but I'll have to adjust.
Do you have the newest ppg camera for your envirobase? Just alittle tip with white pearls when using camera i polish a flat surface take a pic and set camera to pick a solid white not the tri coat color itself. Envirobase is notorious for being too white and too clean on white pearls key is to find a darker yellower white base for your white pearl tri coats
@@paulphillipspaintwork hope you dont take what im telling you as im a know it all sorry if it comes across that way just passing it on think your vids are great
Paul, good informative video Sir. Quick question, how do you find the Gun light? I am thinking of getting one of these. I also have the PRD 717 spray gun. Cheers Steve 👍
@srodgie thanks Steve, yea it's really good. I don't think they are appreciated enough. I was one of those guys whi thought you didn't need them but I'm using it more and more. One of my colleagues used it and said he felt like he had been painting blind for years.
Good luck Paul mate in your new job 👍 good video there thanks for sharing that information very well explained 👍

Thanks @joshuashattuck9267 that's awesome, I'll keep that in mind. I think we have the newest camera as far as I know. I but I definitely find out.
Careful with how wet you apply the t490 it can darken panel compared to adjacent panels. Usually i just apply a quick light coat.
I have heard some wet beds can do that. Thanks 👌
