Yes - I taught school for a few years, adrenaline kept me going during term time, but as soon as there was a holiday I completely crashed.

It’s a known occurrence when you are taking time off or are about to take time off. Most Christmases I am affected like that too.

Yep… it happens quite a lot to me…. I’ve started taking multi vits, going to bed early and resting a bit more. I think a lot of the time I’m running on empty without realising it! good to hear you are better, enjoy the holiday!!!

You must have been uploading this whilst I was searching for your latest video! Hope you have a lovely break away in your "happy place". My 3 daughters also experience that, its because they are all pushing themselves too hard on a daily basis just to keep their families heads above water. Life today is way too pressured and stressful for our systems. We were not designed to live at this pace. xx

I used to get what felt like pneumonia after long airplane trips. The holidays were for one month and half of that was spent being really sick. Never happened on the way home though.

yes, your body is in detox mode - that is what a cold actually is. You don't catch colds, your body resonates with other peoples frequencies on a daily basis and if they are due a detox, your body decides to do one aswell if it needs to. Most people think this explanation is crazy, you don't have to believe it if you don't want to. I never get a cold when other people do, I have only been sick in the last few years following my mums death when I had been emotionally out of balance. I have a cold once every 2 to 3 years. I eat no ultra processed foods and sleep well and try to not get stresssed and I am rarely ill.

Totally agree! I’m the same don’t eat processed stick to mainly fresh, no meat either but do enjoy fish, rarely ill, just a few aches which at 70 isn’t too bad.

Good diet and good hydration, low stress and a good attitude can keep us fine tuned, with a bit of exercise thrown in for fresh air.

It is worth getting a well woman check, just to see if everything is fine, blood tests etc. free for over 50s with nhs i think

So pleased to hear you're feeling better this morning, Karen.
With the complete chaos globally, impacting on so many facets of our lives, it doesn't surprise me that so many folk are having issues with their health.
I know its easier for me, relatively speaking, because I'm retired now, but I do check in with myself daily, sometimes more than once, and make small little adjustments where I feel they are needed.
Be gentle with yourself, my friend.
    Much love
    Avril

God bless,Karen. Yes, it happend to a lot of my family and someone is always ill on every holiday, (Chriostmas, Easter, etc.).People don't realize how fast if can happen, and it's not anything to fool with. If lingering food poisoning, see a doctor. I had a friend who was travel and would not stop actually leave us from food poisoning.
You are always in my prayers.

Very glad you are feeling better. I used to get ill around holiday times and I know it's common. But I have improved my overall health through better food and exercise and it doesn't happen now. So I would say that it is common but also a sign that you are overdoing things. Look after you4self.

Sorry you got sick. It seems over the past weeks and months you have had more than your share of all kinds of illnesses, and it's got to wear you down. I hope you didn't catch the stomach virus that is going around everywhere. Feel better, pace yourself, and enjoy your holiday!

That used to happen to me when I was a single parent working full time, I managed well, we had a good life, but every time I stopped for Annual leave I’d be poorly, it was almost as though my body was so busy, bugs couldn’t keep up, to catch up with me, but when I stopped they got me!

I heard you say you slept well

I think its because as you relax, your cortisol, adrenalin and other stress hormones decrease. When high these suppress the immune system so you don’t experience an inflammatory reaction to pathogens. When they drop, the immune system starts working again creating inflammatory substances to fight infection such as macrophages and histamine. Kind of paradoxically these make you feel unwell. But if your immune system were to stay suppressed you become more prone to serious infections & cancer.

Glad you're feeling better. Just be careful if you do get 'good the go' or end-of-line products that they are still fresh and don't have any bacteria. It is very easy to pick up bugs. Just make sure you are taking plenty of vitamins/minerals. x
