I greatly appreciate this tutorial. I have tried Hens and Chicks, too. I had to give up when it came to the thread bar. Then I tried your pattern and again, there was the thread bar. Thank you so much for showing me how to add a new thread.
@@11Frivole some edging that’s a hen and chicks. It’s olive colored and I’m hoping to sew it onto the bottom of an old black tank top. I’ve never made this long of a tatted project so this was really helpful!
@@clairelmao It's always lovely to hear when I've helped people with my videos. I think your tank top will look lovely with hen & chicks at the bottom. Good luck with your project!
This is a wonderful technique. Do you happen to have any written instructions so I don't have to pull up the video every time while I'm learning this technique?
I was very interested in seeing this and you did not disappoint me! Fantastic! I could not wrap my brain around it and you cleared it up for me! Thank you! I love that pattern and wondered where I could get it. It will be perfect to take on my flight this Friday.
Hi Maria, thank you very much for your comment. I was planning on making a video about this edging so I'll try to get it done before the end of the week! I wanted first to modify the corner I used and design a better one. I'll try to get it done as quickly as possible.
You are amazing to do this for me. I have a tough time sitting at an airport (when I rarely fly) with nothing to do. I take a pill bottle full of homemade shuttles, with size 10 thread on them, in case anyone wants to learn.
Hi Asha, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, although I can needle tat, I'm so much more comfortable with my shuttles. I'll leave needle-tatting videos to the experts in that area. :-)
@@11Frivole Yes, please. Are there different methods for joining , either same length or different ones ? I am not aware, so it would be wonderful if you could guide me. Thank you so much.
@@manishagahlot9601 Hi Manisha, you would just use the picots to join another length. If you look at this particular pattern for example, you could join two lengths in mirror image and use the picots that I'm joining to the hanky to join to another length instead. Many edgings are made in more than one round, so it's the same idea really. :-)
@@11Frivole Thank you so much. I understand that the picots are joined when the second length is being made. Am I right? Also , could you guide me on joins when an additional ring is required in between two rings? Thank you so much
@@manishagahlot9601 Hello Manisha, yes you are correct, you join when making the second length and match picots from both sides so that the two lengths are mirrored but you could also join them one on top of the other too or tip to tip, it depends on the look you are trying to achieve. I'm not sure what you mean by your second question, an additional ring required between two rings?
Hi I change my hair do😱 can you email or put the written pattern for this design and show a little how to do it. I think this will be good for a chocker. What do you think? 🤗
Hi Marcia, sorry I didn't reply straight away! The pattern is available on my blog (under the Patterns Tab). And I have a whole video that shows how to work the edging: ruclips.net/video/KHlyB5nCw_w/видео.html
Hello, this might be due to the way you pull your rings and the lengths of your bare threads perhaps? You have to try to be as consistent as possible so that all elements are the same size as other matching ones. It's a bit hard for me to say without actually seeing your tatting. :-)
Hello Fatima, there are no chains in this pattern and all the stitch counts and the whole pattern is available in this video: ruclips.net/video/KHlyB5nCw_w/видео.html
And thank you for asking as I've now added a link to the pattern in the video and also in the information box below the video. I hope you enjoy making it.

Thank you so much for making tatting videos, because of this, I was able to make my very first tatted bookmark. ❤️

I’m looking for the pattern for that edge. I’m thinking to make a chocker for my daughter. Thank you so much I learned so much from you🤗
