David is not an original member, or ever was a real member. David only worked as a studio contributor for a time. Amy and Ben created Evanescence in 1995 and were already writing music, while David worked with them 5 years later when they were signed, essentially in the capacity of a session musician-contributor; he primarily did programming and a bit of co-writing, while Amy and Ben were always the main writers/composers. David left 2 years later because he grew tired of Amy and Ben's moody sound, and he wanted to do other things like country and pop.
Maybe I'll be hundredth person that writes it, but I didn't know that he wrote it and I like it. Beautiful voice, great talent, I love his voice on Origin.

😂 David never wrote Evanescence's songs. Amy and Ben created Evanescence in 1995 as a duo and had already written their music and continue writing primarily as a duo. David was hired 5 years later by Ben as a studio contributor, he did keyboard synths co-writing on Amy and Ben's work. Amy and Ben were always the main writers/composers. David was only there for 2 years, he grew tired of Amy and Ben's moody sound and he wanted to move on to his pop and country thing, and he never fit Ev which is why Ben fired him before Fallen was even released.

David came in 5 years after Amy and Ben had founded, written music, performed and recorded for Evanescence, and he was only a studio contributor for a couple years. Amy: The idea of a band playing these songs the two of us made was something that only came along later." Ben: "We just wanted it to be the two of us and so we'd play once or twice a year."
