Wow - this is the non-studio version and her voice still sounds great. Very talented singer!
I can relate. This song is my story... My husband waltzed into my life, put his arms around me at a time when I wasn't sure if I would let him literally save my life or if I'd drown under the weight of anorexia... Needless to say, I survived, and we were together 34 years until his death 4 years ago.

My son who helps me get through the divorce. Have saved my life in more ways then he knows
I actually don't see this as a a father daughter song. This song means something different to me. Someone very close to me is no longer around. Not dead thank god but like a stranger. It's hard because I put myself in their hands and they let me fall to the ground. But they protected me from the world. I never felt wanted unless i was with them. It's a shame that the bond was destroyed because of stupid reasons.

A daughter should always be able to count on the love of her father. I heard this song for the first time tonight. I immediately thought of my wife and how wonderfully she has affected my life. Then I thought about my daughters and their daughters and I pray they always know how precious they are to me. Marc Anthony wrote a song for his then newborn daughter, saying that his love for her was the purest he’d ever own. I feel that way about these precious ladies in my life. I pray your father has a change of heart, Kelly. Every daughter deserves that much from her dad.
