There are group dances, duos and trios. Just because she never had a solo, doesnt mean her technique needs to be not good
This was written a year ago but good technique comes from classes. If you watch some old clips, Melissa even said that Nia used to have many private lessons with Abby + other instructors. This was around season 1-2. I am not sure how training was in S3, but I do know most of the girls stopped improving in S5. I am not trying to be mean, but Nia just wasn’t as technically advanced. However, she is a hard worker and deserved more than a few solos per competition season!
@@kasiadylew2112 and Abby never gives Nia duets or trios neither . their point is that Abby doesn’t spend time w/Nia in general which is why Nia’s technique is not up to par . there are classes as well , but competitions ultimately are what help the dancers get an understanding of their technique & how to perform . Nia not getting enough solo competition time is not helpful to her growth as a dancer .

I honestly believe the producers purposely asked if Maddie would’ve liked to do that solo... so Melissa had to answer it. Of course she would say this, but they edited it in to make Melissa look bad for the drama. (It’s just a guess)

Is it weird that i somewhat understand Melissa because her and her kids were extremely close to Broadway Baby considering that they did take care of him sometimes. I do DISAGREE with how Melissa went about it and yes Holly is right because Nia is given a solo that Abby is really passionate about so for once Leslie i agree. Nia do have a lot of pressure put on her.

Imagine if Mia was given a solo every week like Maddie was how much better she would be
KayleighLeanne or even the amount of resources abby provided for maddie. The thing Abby didn’t realize with Nia is, she had the look of a star. She focused on Maddie but maddie was just another white girl in the group. Since Nia was the only black girl, if she had given Nia more opportunities, the group would always win because the judges eyes naturally will always go towards the out layer. Since Nia is black and all the others are white, Nia was always seen. So when her technique was week because she wasn’t being taught correctly, it affected everyone.

Apaulo Taylor please don’t believe everything you see on tv as an editor I can say that it is extremely likely that they asked Melissa if maddie would have liked to do and tribute to BB (especially as it was said so akwardly) and the way things are so haphazardly cut and shott on this show leaves me with no doubt in my mind that this was highly edited, planned and in parts scripted to follow the basic underdog and bad guy narrative

i love how everyone just labels holly as the mature, knowledgeable mother; which, in respect, she is very intelligent and a very classy woman. i don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. but, asia’s mother had a wonderful point that i feel like a lot of people missed. holly (or the other mothers in whatever situation) are begging for their children to have solos, but the moment that it is given to them, it’s almost like they’re painting it as more pressure rather than opportunity. i don’t know, maybe i’m just a bit crabby as i write this, but i just can’t agree with everyone saying that holly is the best mother. yes, she’s a strong independent woman and i commend her for what she has accomplished, but i feel as if it’s often exaggerated in the community. asia’s mother was totally right in this scenario. sorry if this offended anyone, i’m just giving my opinion on the matter.
