    Summary:
    The guys have ice fished in Colorado in February. The guys have ice fished in Minnesota in February. It’s only right that their coldest day of fishing (by feel) should be in their home state. When you have the legendary Oklahoma trio of Humidity, Wind, and Temps in the teens, you have a recipe for a cold ass day of fishing - with rewarding catches, and a fair amount of complaining.
    Successful flies:
    White Mop Fly/Mega Worm, and the classic woolly bugger in either black or olive.
    What We Learned:
    - Don't strip your line to land a dink when your guides are frozen. You will wreck your line, and you might break the tip of your pole.
    - Don't waste time breaking the ice off the guides...just dip it in the water.
    - Don't panic force reel your frozen reel just because you no longer feel your legs or hands. There's no way that's good for your reel. You can always buy new hands.
    - Invest in the right gloves you absolute noob
    About the Channel:
    Proud native Oklahoma fishermen with a filmmaking background. We don't have a niche - we just like catching fish and being outdoors. You may find us holding our noses high, casting flies in clear streams looking down on spin fishing, you may also find us wrestling catfish in the mud, ripping large mouth in cow ponds, spin fishing...Ha!
    Our goal is to get more people outside, to encourage appreciation and respect for our state wildlife, and to have a good time along the way. Join us in our quest to enhance outdoor places in Oklahoma, and to get our brothers and sisters on the water, getting back to the simple pleasures of life.
    Fly, spin, baitcast, push a button, just go!

    Are you using a Redington field kit in this video and what do you think of it?

      I am! I love it. I have fished with several different, and nicer rods - while some are noticeably better, the reddington still holds its own. I could see in the future wanting something a little nicer, but it has been perfect for my learning journey this past year or two. I also beat the crap out of it when river fishing from my SUP, and so far it has taken the beating quite well.

      Appreciate the support! As of now, we don’t have anything other than RUclips. After this first year, I’ve got a feeling we will start an IG and Facebook page!

      @@OkieFish What type of camera do you guys use?

    • @OkieFish
      @OkieFish  3 месяца назад +1

      @@bbaughhitting We use a Blackmagic pocket cinema 6k - which is overkill and bulky in most cases imo. If you can figure out how to build it out and manage it, the thing is a beast. It gets a cool film look without having to lug around a huge cinema camera. I rarely max out the settings (unless I am using it professionally) and generally shoot in a compressed 4k for these videos. For the most part we use canon glass. I also use a GoPro 11, and a Mavic 2 Pro.
