The legend. Take notes, folks, because this lady knows heaps about life and the biz of show. She's done stage, softcore adult flicks, Faerie Tale Theatre, soap opera (a stint on Guiding Light in 2002), biblical epics of the 1950s, horror movies, American Horror Story: Apocaplyse, and much more. Such diverse stuff. I like that Joan is genuine when she speaks to an interviewer or appears on a live talk show; what you see and hear is what she is. There's no bullcrap or haughtiness at all. I think one of my favorite things that she ever did was her appearance on an episode of the NBC sitcom Will and Grace, in which she played a rival interior designer, and in the episode, boozy society diva Karen Walker tells Grace about the glamorous woman's dirty little secret: occasionally disguising herself in public so she can indulge her predilection for messy Mexican food.
