Did all my Idler Pulleys and Belt Tensioner (OEM), I removed the Fan Shroud and Fan which made everything very easy to access and complete, did some work from the bottom as well....
I'm looking to do the same job on my Taco. What's chances unbolting the engine bracket from the block would give more room? Great videos. Love the advice.
Going to attempt this job.... It also includes a Transmission mount.... I have all OEM Mounts and Hardware, but I might have to get my Korean wife to use her tiny little hands in there to help with the tight places...LOL Do you have a Video on Installation of a Rear Anti-Sway Kit on the 2005 2G Taco??? Thanks KFlo!!!!
@@KFloTacoma Thanks and No Worries KFlo, got the kit from Hellwig, it’s an easy job!! Should tighten up the back end nicely, has 3 different settings…. Haven’t done the Motor Mounts yet….
Nice video but I was wondering wouldn't it be easier on the passenger side to unbolt the mount bracket from the engine block and then the 2 bolts holding the mount to the frame and removing the whole thing to avoid having to jack up the passenger side? Driver's side might not be so easy since the starter and ac compressor are in the way.
What year is your Tacoma? My 2006 the motor mounts/brackets actually pushed themselves into the piece of shit frames on the 06's specifically. DMZ fabrications (California) actually sells gusset kits for the motor mount areas that tend to fail on the crap frames these things have. Thankfully, I could save my frame areas (welded and gussets). Keep an eye on those areas where the mounts are joined to the frame.
I'm probably the worst person to ask since I do beat up my truck more than most people. It's funny that you ask though because I did inspect my truck yesterday and I blew out the driver side motor mount again - but that is with about 15+ days of hard 4-wheeling on them
@KFloTacoma killing it on the trails. Best of luck with swapping it again. I too need to do it on my 2015 Taco. Do you remember how long both sides took you?
Good video sir, we would like to invite you to do a review video for our Auto LEDs lighting and we just reached out to you via email for inquiring an opportunity. Hope hear from you soon to figure out what we can do.
This looks about as fun as replacing the belt tensioner on these 4.0 ! good video..
Agreed, Trying to get good lighting as well as usable video footage was also just as fun. Thanks for watching!

Kflo you’re a Legend. If I had to do that I’d just get rid of my taco lol
LOL, thanks for the kind words bro. Yea, this work is definitely a big pain!
Aloha my Man… can’t tell ya how many times you and your DYI Skills have helped me out… big time Mahalo’s
Excellent presentation.. appeared to be a little stressful and you handled it like a Toyota Pro..
This one is definitely one of the maintenance work that's hard to enjoy LOL. Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words, George
You realessed this video at perfect timing bro i needed this info as i wam going through my rebuild!
Lol more to the series so stay tuned
Karl… dang brother…. This looks like a pain in the behind. Thanks for sharing and putting in all the work on this video
Thanks for the kind words, bro. Hopefully these videos help you guys out with the more complicated work!
I'm looking to do the same job on my Taco. What's chances unbolting the engine bracket from the block would give more room? Great videos. Love the advice.
I actually tried that method as well, for that you would need to undo the UCA and the starter since they block the bolts
Nice work! Do you not have the two mounting supports that bolt under the motor mount? They act like gussets to help stabilize the bottom of the mount.
Mine didn't have the gussets unfortunately. I am planning on fabbing up my own after the repair series
Ah. Yeah, maybe a junkyard too. I may have some extra from scrapping my '13 taco
What do you torque the single nut onto the stud in the motor mount? Not the bracket, the stud on the actual rubber mount?

I hope the work turned out ok for you, Tim! Unfortunately, I don't have a rear sway bar installation video

@@KFloTacoma As always, thanks for your awesome videos!! You’re the BEST!!!
Hi .
I was wondering if you can tell me what best aftermarket Brand for inner and outer tie rod I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma Limited.
Thanks.
that little bracket below the motor mount that u removed to get the motor mount out, what was that bracket for ? mine are missing

Correct

Mine is a 2009 and gusseting those motor mounts is definitely on the list of of reinforcement mods once I have the truck running
did you experience a lot of vibration before changing these while driving or rough shifting
I try to keep it OEM with replacements but that's not always possible. Did you go aftermarket because of price?
What lifting point would you use on an auto transmission Tacoma?
Ideally, it will be at the bell housing as well but anywhere flat really where you can lift.
Yo Kflo! Im curious, how have these mounts held up in the past year? I need to replace mine and I am torn between OEM or these Beck/Arnley.

I would recommend budgeting a whole weekend TBH
@@KFloTacoma roger that. Thanks for the heads up
Biggest question is it worth it to do it on your own? I got quoted $320 in labor to have a mechanic replace them
Looks like my old motor mounts are staying in there.
Yea it's definitely going to be a pain to replace! Thanks for watching
Is this the same for a 2007 toyota tacoma 2.7 auto ?
The overall idea would be similar but it will not be the exact same way
