Mid 2011 Macbook Air Ram Error fix.
This was a temporary fix for us, but it did allow us to get the computer booted up and backed up. So if you want to try to get your files off the SSD. Try this at your own risk.

Placing the Logicboard over a piece of fabric or anything flammable while operating a heat-gun is inadvisable.
I am shocked this worked. I figured it would melt the logic board components. Congrats!
This is only for a short time repair ... for long time you have to remove the memorys clean and then reballing...

How much is the degree of temperature?
If you had actually melted the solder like you thought you had it would never have started after squishing all the solder joints together! Everything would be shorting out.
Not worried about ESD on that fabric? Hmmm

Clearly you don't know what you are doing.
First of all you have to pre-heat the board before the reflow.
Secondly you have to monitor the temperature during the reflow to make shure the tin got liquid.
Also you don't have to press the ram chips they center themselves and need to cooldown slowly see the datasheet specs of ramchip.
You're just lucky you don't damaged other components and this tepair is a very short term solution.
People who follow your method will probably damage their device and will be beyond tepair if they bring it to a real technician.
you will probably do this with the best of intentions, but the chance that things will go wrong is much too great through this unorthodox method and people are not helped in this way.

So it looks like that would be quite the task being that those are soldered in place Ram chips...not sure if it's even possible, or if the Mac would support it once done.

Yup that is basically all we did, we did that just to reseat the ram so that the computer would boot up again. We discovered that was why it wouldn't boot up. But I will reiterate this was only a temporary fix the computer eventually quit again. But it did give us enough time to backup all our files.
In order to really fix the problem for good we ended up replacing the entire logic board. Didn't film that though 😑 😒

@@estebanquito356 Thank you for your comment, so this repair only lasted for about a day or two. It was really only enough time to backup the data on the drive. That's not to say it couldn't last longer or shorter for you, it just depends.

DO NOT DO THIS! THIS IS NOT A RAM "RESET"! What you are doing will break your machine, and the fact that you are doing this in your bed and fabric cloth is even more baffling.
And once again...this computer wasn't even booting up before we did this...we knew it would be a temp fix...and it allowed us to get the computer booted and back up years of pictures off the drive...but I appreciate your opinion bro tato chip 🤙
@@Snipeoff Not an opinion, its facts, you will move capacitors, resistors, and other IC chips around by smashing a rock on a heated logic board.
You know using language that evokes an emotional response...like "smashing a rock..." Doesn't make your argument any more valid, I included how this fix was just temporary, and any one could figure out not the right way to fix it...in the description
