How much fun do you have making spoiler videos, Seth? Because if it's just work for you it doesn't show. Always appreciate your work ethic and your insight into different formats.
i was looking at the vinelasher as just a middling replacement for graveyard tresspasser in golgari midrange, but you've really sold me on it as a solid threat in its own right. works really well with freestrider lookout, too, regardless of whether you use its ability to get the crime trigger or not.
As soon as I saw the first look at Bloomburrow I made sure I had a playset of Cheeky House-Mouse // Squeak By, Three Blind Mice, and Raging Battle Mouse, just in case a boros mouse deck could be a thing in standard. I like the way mice are looking so far. Ironically I think Cheeky House-Mouse // Squeak By might be the most useful for the valiant triggers.
I’m also thinking about picking up a much of mice cards too, my deck rotated and mice in standard seem fun. Still a little concerned if there will be enough playable mice but I’m hopeful
Iridescent Vinelasher doesn't scale exactly like Crab because your math doesn't include drawing. By turn 3 you only have to mill 50 cards at a rate of 6%. But the offspring mode it 10% sooooo shurg emogi
But mill decks typically play 3 mana spells, when burn plays 1-2 mana spells. That means they play less lands. Thought just 1 fetch gives you shock, Fetch + third land makes it into creature bolt.
16:30 - Important play pattern with Hired Claw. You can activate that ability in that moment after it's attatck trigger has resolved and before damage has been dealt. You will see that a lot if this card gets played.
Feather of flight is very limited coded. Usually you win in draft by sneaking past you opponents creature with evasion, the flash punishes that doubling as a 'white fling that draws a card' at worst or a 'removal spell that buffs one of your own creatures and draws a card. In standard I could see it working really nicely in a WG toxic aggro deck, Bant toxic is loosing it's blue staples but WG looks really good as a rotation proof deck. The deck also gets a few boons like channel lands rotating since they were one of the few ways to get passed both Skrelv, Defector mite and Venerated Rotpriest being colourless and not a spell respectively. Feather of Flight works great with Venerated Rotpriest by targeting to enchant and it also works really nice with Skrelv since it encourages removal. You'll cast this targeting ideally a Jawbone Duelist, trigger Rotpriest, draw, your opponent casts removal, Rotpriest Triggers, Tap Skrelv to hexproof through the removal, swing for 4 toxic in the air. That's six (five if your opponent doesn't blunder) poison in 1 turn. Targeting the aura is a good way to avoid Rotpriest but then your opponent isn't killing your creature so win win. You might cast this deal a poison and draw and your opponent double removals into the Skrelv trigger but at that point you payed 3 mana to sacrifce a creature, remove 2 cards from your opponents hand, and do 3 poison. Like it's unironically really good against decks with pretty much only creature instant speed removal like Golgari Midrang and mono black. Also against prowess decks it'll let you blow out or trade with a Slick Shot Showoff when flashed onto Jawbone Duelist. The only issue would be the trample but it can't trample if its dead, so as long as its not a Monstrous Rage you're fine. Or Tap The Seedcore first and then Feather to get around 2 rages. Against creature heavy decks that tap out to build a bunch of blockers trying to out wide you it's also really nice to just flash out and be like "Surprise! The Teeth Man has wings now! My turn?"
I am so hyped to play a Boros mouse deck but also I am supper hyped for the Golgari squirrel deck with chatterfang, ygra and Hazel of the rootbloom for that create tons of squirrel's eat the Squirrel's to make Ygra bigger and get more Squirrels back.
A good blink commander that could play Sunspine Lynx is Pramikon. While Pramikon doesn't accelerate your gameplan, he's a pretty incredible piece for directing the flow of the game.
Red may not do blink, but it does do "make a token copy of a creature but sac the token at the end of turn/combat" which can absolutely abuse Sunspine Lynx
I do think Hired Claw can be good but we played Scorch Spitter to activate the Spectacle cards and it's synergy with Cavalcade decks. Scorch Spitter gave you sorcery speed lightning bolt and and a 1 mana 'draw' 2.
Sunspine Lynx may be a better target for reanimation than blink. That said, its also a great target for Chord of Calling or similar tutors in decks with green.
I can totally see the new monored 4of staples being heartfire hero, emberheart challenger, demonic rucus, monstrous rage, slickshot showoff, monastery swiftspear.turn 1 hero into turn 2 ruckus gives us a 3/3 menacer, that needs to get answered, and if it dies it burns the opponent and draws a card..pretty strong sequence for standard..also the emberheart challnger being a hasty creature with prowess and card advantage with its valiant ability,is an abbot of keral keep on steroids..definately the best red card from the set..high chances to see modern play in gruul prowess imo
Idk if the lynx is main deck card in modern but I can definitely see it being just a solid sideboard card for decks the struggle dealing with the one ring. Though it may just be worse then disrupter flute and other cards.
Emberheart Challenger is mostly gonna compeat with Slickshot Show-Off. And I think it's the slightly worse orn of the 2, so it will probably be copy 5-8 of it, in Standard & Pioneer
I'm looking to play the Vinelasher in a discard burn deck with Hopeless Nightmare and Bandit's Talent. It might just give the deck enough reach to make it at least a fun tier deck.

Honestly Mice and Red in general seem to outpower the other archetypes so hard. I love the set and design, but i was hoping to atleast for one release be spared of Red S Tier. Looking forwards to Prerelease, but I expect R/W and maybe R/B to outperform other archetypes because the cards shown this far seem above the rest in terms of individual power AND their payoff/gameplan is more simple and reproduceable esp. in limited compared to the other high synergy guilds. Unless they put out some stronger G and U combat tricks and a more reliable B boardclear I dont see the other colours competing aside from somehow getting to thier bombs.
Vinelasher isn't quite as good as Ruin Crab, because your opponent starts at 53 cards and loses one card by drawing every turn.
