    Saw it at JCCS (I took my Mazda 808/RX3). It's an absolute stunner and one of the nicest Celicas in the country!

    My first car was an old hand-me-down Mazda 323, so old it was a rear wheel drive model. The first car I ever bought was a Fast Back Celica, like this. I love this car, I loved mine. Sellers regret. This is a beautiful car, people joked at the time, long ago, but, it is beautiful. People sat it's styled after the late 60's Mustang, and I'm a huge Mustang fan. Or maybe it's because it's the first car I bought with my own money. IDK, but, I do love this car, I do love it! I would buy one again, in a heart beat, it's as sexy as hell.

    It's actually a North american spec 1976-77 GT liftback converted into the Japanese spec 1973 Celica 2000LB. Nice job, very unique. This model was never available in the States

    • @faradaysage15
      @faradaysage15 2 года назад

      yes it was. you could order them for 2 or 3 years. Grandparents had one of each, sold my family the common one.
      I don't know what happened to the other one. grandmother died and it was her car, and then the grandfather died. i think the other grandkids took it and never told us.

      @@faradaysage15 The 1st generation GT Lift back was available in the US in 1976 and 1977, but they had the big Federal bumpers as required by law. The bumper laws didn't apply in Japan so those cars got the smaller chromed bumpers like those on 1971 and 72 Celica hardtops. So American enthusiasts would special order the Japanese spec bumpers and bolt them on their 1976-77 Liftbacks

    Such a beauty, you did an amazing job, love the color ❤. I'm only 26 at the time and I say I'm loving more and more classic jdm each day, the simplicity of these car to me are truly a work of art especially when someone takes an idea and applies ot to their work. I to will someday own one and restore a masterpiece of a car. Thank you.

    What a fantastic job you did, the car is beautiful! It is identical to my 1977 GT in Chinese red with the black vinyl interior. I plan to start restoring mine soon after I retire. It has sat in storage for 20 years but thankfully it is in much better shape body wise than what you started with here. I am the original owner and it was my first car bought by my dad who I paid back later. :-)

    Are you sure about the model year; my recollection is that lift back wasn’t released until after 1975; we owned and resorted a 1977 RA28 in the 1990s - they are a classic shape spoilt by the USA Reg safety numbers etc which I see you addressed, nice job 👍

    Sad that nothing can be restored in the rust belt once the cancer starts.
    Family had a 73 ST that I loved. Idiot stepdad let it sit and rot when he got a bigger car when my sisters were born. was mint, rust free texas car...went to crap in 3 years parked on grass. he gave it away.
