Most people thought they'd have to go to another At- planet to find the coordinates in its tower. Also, since it ended on the planet, At Achrann, some thought there might be more to do there. @emperortitus27 Whatever his intentions, he still should have waited until her reach the planet...or until they were back onboard the starship at the very least.
The kid igniting the lightsaber upside down was fucking priceless. The girl messing with the pipe to attack the guards was ridiculously convenient but oh well. I'm having a hard time with the fact it hasn't come up between Jod and the kids at any point, what time period they're in. I dunno. We'll see. I'm liking this show though. Could be better, but my qualms with it are pretty small, and I'm enjoying it.
7:00 there is a big difference between ‘detachment’ and ‘non-attachment’. Detachment implies apathy and an avoidant attachment style. Non-attachment implies that a person is secure in their relationships to things/people/beliefs etc and therefore does not cling to material things. The Jedi practice non-attachment, rather than detachment which I think has become a MAJOR misconception in the fanbase and even among certain writers, leading to shows like The Acolyte where the Jedi way is portrayed as inherently flawed. The Jedi way is not flawed, it is how the Jedi followed the way that was flawed in the prequels and led to their downfall. Just wanted to clear that up for everyone and maybe start a discussion! :)
This was by far the most cinematic of all the episodes; look, pacing, writing, acting & that true Star Wars essence. It is going to be a very long week till next Tuesday, folks.
Thor, do you think is possible that Jod most likely used a force mind trick or killed the warriors of the other tribe in "At Achrann" to get the animals back? Because he still had the credits with him and in the episode is said that they only traded with "off-worlders" for ammo and weapons with their pelts.
I thought that was a possibility. Now that they left the planet, there's no way to tell. Since it's for kids, they're toning down the violence after the first episode.
6:47 coincidentally, the new Star Wars book, the living force, kinda addresses the question of if their method of taking kids from their families was a good idea.
i don't think he's using the force. i think we've only seen him "force move" things that are metallic, so I suspect he has some sort of magnetic manipulator.
For me the fave moment was when Jod/Jack/Dash/Silvo/name of the week told SM-33 to flood the stairwell full of pirates with acid. followed immediately by offscreen screams :)
Gotta say, Jude law really makes the show for me. Its a kids show and I am not a kid anymore so I probably are not intended audience but I appreciate they are trying to make family shows again.
Yes!!! This episode was fantastic and enjoyable from beginning to end. This show is, dare I say it, possibly heading towards greatness? Fingers crossed.
There’s an innocence I haven’t felt in SW since The Force Awakens. It’s so refreshing to watch SW from a childlike perspective. They craved adventure and ultimately just want to get back home!
My only gripe with this episode, and it is a very minor one was when Jod seemed surprised at whose ship he's been travelling on this entire time. He knows about Rennod being a legendary pirate who disappeared while on a quest to look for At Attin yet he was unable to make the link without SM-33 overtly saying it. It reminded me of Wallace from Wallace and Gromit when Feathers McGraw reveals himself. Seemed a wee bitty daft but again it's only a minor gripe in a very, very good episode.
What I like that they did was that Wim has been constantly told to be quiet and not to touch anything. How did the kids seemingly escape Jod’s clutches? Not from Wim being heroic like a Jedi, but by impulsively touching something and dropping down a chute
The CIS created security droids and droid armies. The droids we see with intelligence may actually be sith or jedi who been bolted into a prison like Darth vader.
Definitely the best episode so far. I have a hunch that it's going to be revealed that Jod is a padawan/youngling who survived Order 66. I can totally see him going on a rant in front of Wim about how the Jedi's morality and selflessness (along with their hubris) ultimately led to their downfall. I also think that Brutus and his crew are going to attack At Attin in the last episode (the trailers show the pirates intercepting a transmission from Fern's mom, so they probably trace it back there), and Wim is going to have to convince Jod to become a Jedi again (or at least temporarily) to save the planet.
I agree that this episode was good. Last week's episode was actually my favorite episode so far. Anyways, thanks for some Christmas content. Merry Christmas.
My guess: the captain is the supervisor, or he had programmed the supervisor. And we couldn't see his face now because we will first see the supervisor before it is going to be revealed in the last episode.
Maybe it's just me, but it makes no sense to hide the planet (/planets?) where you mint credits. Either you stop using that currency - which as far as we know isn't the case - in which case you can just shut down the Mint (or repurpose it if you switch to a new kind of credit). Or you still use the currency in which case hiding the planet and having little to no contact with it make no sense since you can't access to your credit mints. Hopefully the full explanation makes some sense.
Well I’m assuming the republic at the time had access and communication with it but things have since changed. And it makes total sense tbh to hide where the money comes from.
I think the captain got to At Attin, saw that it's peaceful and instead of plundering it, decided to blend in and live his life in peace. Maybe it'll turn out that Wim's dad is the captain.
i have to say this thing is growing on me,great stuff here and it shows how much jon watts knows to create teen/kids based shows/movies and tell stories that are good,i mean the backfire on the lightsaber turning on was pure gold i really thought they would do a mary sue last jedi thing but nope they showed that without training you cant eve turn this thing on and it can probably kill you too
I think Jod not knowing what to do with Wim was supposed to be an adult joke. He thought he was watching porn, hence Wim quickly putting his tablet away😂
I'm still thinking Tak Rennod is going to be the supervisor. From this episode my guess is that he will be the same species as Neel. Maybe a species that has kind of been lost over time except on At Attin. Another really good episode.
What if??? MANDO CAMEOS IN THE FINALE & SAVES THE DAY LIKE LUKE DID FOR MANDO!!! Jod has bounties on him, would kinda be fit right?? GROGU COULDA KNOWN JOD IF HE WAS A VERY YOUNG PADAWAN THAT GOT KIDNAPPED BY PIRATES DURING THE CLONE WARS TOO SO IT WOULD BE A CRAZY TWIST I know it might not completely fit, but it would still be kind of awesome for a nice big finale I JUST DON’T THINK IT’S THAT BIG OF A STRETCH CONSIDERING YES JOD HAS BOUNTIES ON HIM and Mando is a bounty hunter, kinda almost made for each other
I don't think the Jedi practice of taking babies to be trained in the Order is very ethical, tbh. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't reject older students, but remember that they initially said NO to train Anakin. _Nine_ is too old for them. Nine. That's horrifying. And it really robs choice from the Jedi in question, because their parents and the Jedi made their choices for them. Given how Jedi preach how important choice is, this is pure hypocrisy.
You've gotten me interested, and I really want to watch this show now, but I'm worried it will end poorly or end up tying into the Disney sequels somehow, and ruin it. I'd like to support the show to raise the viewership numbers and watch it now, but I think waiting until it ends is the move.
Yes , I agree , this week’s episode was solid . The mystery deepened, we have character development, I’m definitely entertained! Can’t wait for next week!
6:28 I felt like when Jod was about to leave Wim & then sighed, imo that was a pretty clear indication that he didn't want to deal with this shit but he knew he had to. I'm the same way if someone has an emotional breakdown around me, I know I have to do something even if I really don't want to. I'm kind of emotionally distant or detached myself, am I a Jedi? 8:15ish He "waited" so to speak, I think he realized that he had all the puzzle pieces that he needed to get to this legendary treasure and he wasn't going to let a couple of preteens muck things up. He might also really stand by the pirate code as his own moral compass, who knows, but the way he invoked the duel with Fern for the role of Captain felt like he was doing it as a formality. He clearly didn't want to hurt the kids, said so himself. He tried to make her say "yield" out loud for a reason, even if he told SM33 to throw them in the brig for mutiny after. I believe he would have put the kids in a time out for a bit and then let them be as normal, except they would take his orders now, but Wim once again did something stupid. He's easily my least favorite character of this show, no shade to the kid actor though. I didn't necessarily get the sense of ransom vs reward here but I totally see that perspective. As I said before I'm more just on the fact that he wants to secure the bag at all costs. He's not gonna want to let this slip through his fingers, it's a Legendary Score. We didn't see Tek Rennod's face for any particular reason. I think it was meant to convey just how long that place has been undiscovered for, the footage started to deteriorate. Initially I figured the Onyx Cinder had been crashed for like ~100-200 years but now I'm thinking it's been a lot longer than that with all this new info. Also consider the secret fortress that was on top of Lanupa is now a boujie spa for the elite and it's history is an ancient legend the guides are trained to tell you about. It must have been quite some time.
If the supervisor isn’t a droid, then maybe it’s the captain who took over and he just keeps the old republic credits for himself forever. Possibly dead and At Atten just thinks he’s alive
You pointing out that this episode felt complete, like it had its own story to tell, is why I am so glad to have cut the cord with Disney. That an episode of premiere SSF television should feel complete and be >30 min long should be a given, not a bonus 🤦🏽
I'm guessing the 9 (well 8 of 9) jewel worlds were destroyed by Palpatine systematically sometime after the Clone Wars - he probably used them to pay the Kaminoans for the Clone Army. He also probably used them to pay for all the ships & equipment & also both Death Stars (at least initially). Once he had control via the Empire, those Mint worlds were no longer necessary - he could enslave & bully his way to pay for the Death Stars & the Imperial Army & Navy. It's probably likely the general Galactic population did not know about the Minting planets - possibly only the Banking Clan & a few other core financial VIPs knew about them. Obviously the Republic kept those systems secret, but Palpy would definitely know about them. So I think this series is not going to necessarily tie-into the High Republic, rather the Clone Wars & Empire. Oh, I loved the Indiana Jones & National Treasure vibe to this episode.
That's one my problem with the Disney shows (well, aside from the dire script, terrible acting and all the other warts) - they seem afraid to tell a complete story in an episode. Take an episode of Strange New Worlds or Doctor Who. They have a plot, a problem, rising action, a climax and an ending. Sure you can have other developments along the way and that you can have things build off old episodes, but you get one, whole and complete story. Here, it's a frustrating 22 minutes of teaser for next week, or an episode arbitrarily cut in half like that witch series one that just had an episode stop in the middle before that saber fight. Give us a whole story, damnit!
This is Treasure Island set in the Star Wars universe. Remember, Jod was originally Captain Silvio, which is a reference to Long John Silver. That’s why it’s so fun. It’s a classic story, told a different way.
My thoughts: 1) “Your focus determines your reality, You have vision, embrace it, Make your life the one you want to live”-Jod 2) I was hoping the rat was the old captain 😂 3) Skeleton Crew works where The Acolyte doesn’t due to a consistent continuity 4) Will we see the reaction of At-Attin residents when/if they find out the Old Republic no longer exists?
I like this episode as well. Jod stole the show. I liked the tension and that the planet is a mint making money 💰. Now I hope the next episode is just as good
Called it when it came to the secret of At Attin. I thought it was a republic fort knox/mint. The clues were there. 1. The Kids lunch money was incredibly valuable to the outside. 2. The planet was kept hidden with limited outside contact. 3. All the adults were analysts, accountants etc. 4. Remember what the kids were being actually be taught. The instructor was talking about financial flows and currency movements of various planets. I think At Attin still is a functioning mint for whoever the successor state of the republic was. The adults are still doing work for 'the republic'. The Great work continues. The real question is, were they acting as the Mint for the Empire? And who are they Mint for now? The New Republic or the First Order!
Although we don't know Jods age we know that Jude Law is 51. Anakin was 45 when he died in Episode 6 so Jod could very well be a Jedi. I am guessing he is way younger in the show but he could have been a youngling when Qui Gon was still among the living.
Hey Thor. With all due respect, I don’t know why you feel the need to keep calling this a “kids show”. The “mature” content is at least on par with the OT, and it matches the more brutal aspects of the PT. In other words, I see nothing about this show that explicitly makes it more “for kids” than anything from the mind of George Lucas.
Lucas went a lot darker than this show has and (or so I'd assume) will. Yes, there has been some implied violent deaths, but I don't think we'll see any charred corpses (Luke's aunt and uncle) any of our main characters lose a limb, or have it implied that a room full of younglings were cut apart by a lightsaber. And the reason I call this a kid's show is because of a more lighthearted nature in general. And that's in no way meant to be an insult, just the reality that this is indeed meant to be very kid friendly in order to get younger people into Star Wars.
this is so entertaining and funny just Stranger Things but in Space and SM-33 is a Scream... and a Mystery?? what we all wanted as it keeps you Guessing??? Genius!

Take the children, drop them off, Then lay low until he can plan the heist.
The theory I've heard was he was planning to hold them for ransom to gain At-Attin's wealth.
"You don't understand pirates" :p I believe he means to ransom them; that's what I would do.
@emperortitus27 Whatever his intentions, he still should have waited until her reach the planet...or until they were back onboard the starship at the very least.
@@HighHeelKnight yeah, i tend to agree
The kid igniting the lightsaber upside down was fucking priceless. The girl messing with the pipe to attack the guards was ridiculously convenient but oh well. I'm having a hard time with the fact it hasn't come up between Jod and the kids at any point, what time period they're in. I dunno. We'll see. I'm liking this show though. Could be better, but my qualms with it are pretty small, and I'm enjoying it.
I love that they included the deadman’s switch in the lightsaber scene. Also this takes place at the same time as Ahsoka and Mandalorian
10/10 for me.
Really good show…. I totally agree I’m looking forward to the next
This was by far the most cinematic of all the episodes; look, pacing, writing, acting & that true Star Wars essence. It is going to be a very long week till next Tuesday, folks.
Luke Skywalker proved, unlike his father, that a Jedi can fill their life with attachments and love and it can bring good out of you and others.
Maybe he just used one or two coins and promised them to come back with more, once he got to AtAttin.
6:47 coincidentally, the new Star Wars book, the living force, kinda addresses the question of if their method of taking kids from their families was a good idea.
Even morally ambiguous Star Wars comic book characters, such as Doctor Aphra, have asked as much to characters like Luke.
Friendly reminder that Thor is 6'4 (I was quicker than the other guy)
Loved that episode!
I think the original owner of the Onyx Cinder is the Supervisor
i don't think he's using the force. i think we've only seen him "force move" things that are metallic, so I suspect he has some sort of magnetic manipulator.
Is the Cthallops character design and name a call out to H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu?
Hardly a call out, moreso an obvious implementation lol
Seems that way, doesn't it?
Amazing episode! Pacing, action, emotional scenes, lightsaber let's go!!
Glad to hear some good news for a change!
Bro... Thor.... my little green friend... I love Star Wars... and this is pod racing!!!! Merry Christmas 🥲🎄🙏🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Best episode hands down!
I think the captain is the director in atatin, thats why we didnt see him. Would make a great twist
If the Banking Clan has to pay extra for the so-called heightened security, then I hope it kept the receipt. 👮💸
The CIS created security droids and droid armies. The droids we see with intelligence may actually be sith or jedi who been bolted into a prison like Darth vader.
Its the banking clan, theyre probably claiming it against tax.
Dude, pronounce his name right, it's driving me crazy.
I burst out laughing at Wim - that joke was a LONG time coming! 😂
My guess: the captain is the supervisor, or he had programmed the supervisor. And we couldn't see his face now because we will first see the supervisor before it is going to be revealed in the last episode.
Recognized Kelly MacDonald’s voice instantly.
The way Jude Law looks at that lightsaber at the end...
Jod like odd, not Jod like ode
Jude Law with a lightsaber now? Awesome!
2nd season.
I rather think of AtAttin as something like Asimovs Foundation, protecting wisdom through hard times.
There’s a very high chance that the planets leadership took itself of the map to build up a fortune
@@oXRaptorzXo I mean, I'd wager it's not that hard to make credits anyways, so why bother hiding it.
@@blasecascadeanimation4671 that could be an explanation
What if Hondo is the pirate captain and also the supervisor?
10:12 maybe the pirates face is hidden cause he became the new supervisor
I’m thinking this too
I thought he was gonna have a lightsaber when he did that pause but I'm glad I was wrong and right
Interesting that there were various traps for things, but not the lightsaber. They sure took a risk going down the chute!
3 more episodes left to see if this show is going to join the good DSW side.
GROGU COULDA KNOWN JOD IF HE WAS A VERY YOUNG PADAWAN THAT GOT KIDNAPPED BY PIRATES DURING THE CLONE WARS TOO SO IT WOULD BE A CRAZY TWIST
I know it might not completely fit, but it would still be kind of awesome for a nice big finale
I JUST DON’T THINK IT’S THAT BIG OF A STRETCH CONSIDERING YES JOD HAS BOUNTIES ON HIM and Mando is a bounty hunter, kinda almost made for each other
When the one kid dropped the lightsaber all I could think of was the Rick and Morty episode
Jod: don’t touch anything its trapped.
Wim does exactly that with the lightsaber and nothing happen?
Plus, whos lightsaber is it anyway?
Hey Thor. I will watch an episode now. Just this one.
And I saw it was good.
Hope for more like that.
Maybe the past captain was reborn as "The Supervisor" and the security robots are his new crew - they're all in on it. Meanwhile, "The Daniels..."
Maybe they hide the captain’s face in the logs because we will meet him later, he’s the At Attin supervisor?
The impaling was post-death though😅
My prediction is that we will get 3 more episodes.
😍 ngl I'm loving this! May the force be with you skeleton crew!
🤍
Best episode for sure!
My thoughts:
1) “Your focus determines your reality,
You have vision, embrace it,
Make your life the one you want to live”-Jod
2) I was hoping the rat was the old captain 😂
3) Skeleton Crew works where The Acolyte doesn’t due to a consistent continuity
4) Will we see the reaction of At-Attin residents when/if they find out the Old Republic no longer exists?
I like this episode as well. Jod stole the show. I liked the tension and that the planet is a mint making money 💰. Now I hope the next episode is just as good
This episode was soooo goood!
I guess the lack of politics.
Genius!
I think i like this show more than Andor. Its just so fun and so starwars!
Look forward to watching this episode. Jude Law’s character seems to be a chaotic neutral who is out for himself.
I did really enjoy that one. It's a good show. Massive Goonies/Indiana Jones vibes.
Does this show take place post Return of the Jedi?
yes
its been mentioned as post mando season 3, the timeline is a little hazy so probably 10 (ish) years after ROTJ.
I forgot this show existed. And I've been watching all the episodes. For free. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
