My god I love the way the R33 GTR looks....
same
+Roads Untraveled i find the wheelbase weird , the r32 is the best looking gtr for me
+Dacrazy-can
I love the R32 but the early Skyline's were beautiful!
+Roads Untraveled The R33 is the redheaded stepchild of them. Never been able to understand why. But I love it, and red heads.
I like the 32 more, but each to their own I guess!
So dope to see this car being driven as it should be, considering that that a Deep Marine Blue 400R is currently on the market for 2 million dollars... I'll doubt we'll see these on the roads & instead be stored away for collection
It should be in a collectors garage. Not driven.
@@SpecializedRider249 It should be driven well and properly by someone that's up for the task. That's what it was built for
Always been my favourite GT-R
This car was a serious killer in GT. brings back memories
These kids nowadays never had the pleasure of playing a racer like the older gran turismos
@@Ryandupont0896they’re bringing it back in a new gt7 update
it was, it was. otherwise the memories werent there. i know exactly where my skyline love stems from. gran turismo and probably even this very car.
Ah good ol Gran Turismo what a cracking video really enjoyed it hats off! I'd love to review a 400R, anyone out there with one? I promise to go gentle 🐒
MONKY LONDON sup bro I have one in Australia in silver up in the Sutherland’s.....my model is 34th made
The man Who keeps changing his name The 34th produced car is also purple and lives in Finland.
The man Who keeps changing his name lol lier
The man Who keeps changing his name the one in Australia is the 7th
Those LMGT1's are so beautiful, by far the best 5 spoke wheel ever built
+Eric Sangimino i love all of the LMGT wheels...but yeah definitely love the nineties-ness of these
+Atte Jokinen lol thanks, i've usually only seen them on the r32's and z32's and in my mind the development/prototype years in the 80's don't count :P but good to know...am gonna look up that prototype
400hp in the 90s? That's a lot for that period's standard! Even still quite a lot in today's standard. Those things must be very fast back then. The owners must be very lucky!
One of the best cars ever engineered....
A true ICON...
With the R34GT-R Z-Tune they are the most inspiring cars ever built in the Nismo Omori Factory...
A Midnight Purple R33 is on my own-before-I-die list because of Gran Turismo 1. Having HD footage of a 400R being used is just fantastic. What a thing!
Mikeado66 Try finding one in Super Clear Red II or Deep Marine Blue. 498 Deep Marine Blue R33s were made, imagine how many of them were 400Rs.
@@xalataf3365 There are four known examples so far in Deep Marine Blue, though could be more. Also only two Super Clear Red II examples are known of so far. The rarest colour is Championship Blue, as only 1 example is known of in this colour.
It was my dream car when I played the PS2-era Gran Turismos. The mystic about it was intoxicating. Wonderful to know it lives up to the hype in the flesh.
I just built one of these in Forza Horizon 3, had so much fun using this video and wikipedia as references to build up my virtual dream car. Who cares about Supercars when cars like this still exist.
burns0100 agreed!
I cares about supercars
@@evilassjitnem built not bought.
Kevin Hoonigan that’s what they always say
@@guy_with_no_name7317 well it is true.
God trial mountain was epic
That and deep forest was nuts
You rarely see such effusive joy of driving expressed by a reviewer- another reason Evo is king.
In 2020 this car shines brighter then most today.
That is a beautiful car. The R33 is the best looking generation of gtr in my opinion. So sleek and clean looking.
R33 This is the Way 🫡
The R33 is, by far, my favourite shaped GTR. But this is the absolute nuts.
I love the references to Best Motoring and Gran Turismo. Good stuff, Evo.
The view of the camera on the front bumper on the ground, seeing nothing but the asphalt wiz by, passing below under the camera lens is hypnotic. I kept rewinding back just to see those 2.5 secs of that sense of speed. Moar!
Please attempt to review the z-tune r34
+kapquarfa yes! i second this. if they could get their hands on this rare model. they can certainly manage a Z tune.
+kapquarfa it's very very rare almost impossible to find one
***** I know, NISMO only purchased 20 but evo's a big company- I'm sure it's not the rarest car they've ever tested.
Yeah maybe ur right .. I hope they find one.
+kapquarfa If Evo wants to find one, they have one that they keep at the Omari Nismo Factory. I have seen it there on a handful of times taking customers there.
It was one of the "fun" cars to drive in Gran Turismo even with stock tires/suspension, it felt really balanced, and the sound was awesome! Thanks EVO for the review!
The question is: when the hell will the GT7 come up?
An will it have more tracks and cars?
I miss playing the great GranTurismo 4
+Daniel Maia Have you seen Gran Turismo Sport yet? It's an interesting concept and worth looking into.
I hope it has all the great tracks tho, or at least all the F1 tracks. The old ones weren't that realistic but had a lot more options.
Fall 2017
+Daniel Maia Forza Motorsport 6 is better anyways.
+EVO When GT Sport is released i'll be sat waiting with my finger on X to download.
ive just turned 37 which is scary but have been playing GT since i was about 19 so this latest upload by yourselves means a lot to me.
Keep up the good work.
I just couldn't stop staring at those wheels the whole time! They're gorgeous!
This video is six years old tomorrow. The huayra is ten years old.
There's a bunch of times where I've been feeling old recently. This is one of them.
Good video and editorial of an amazing car. I am glad I found this online. I hope to see more videos of this Japanese legend. (:
easily the best looking skyline but there's just something about the r32 that just gets me going
This guy can make any review /car seem interesting...nice review thanks once again Jethro.
Amazing the engineering that went into such a low volume car. Makes other performance variants of cars look like cynical marketing tricks.
Love to see this car driving around
Have seen this video like 10 times 😍
Thanks EVO for such an incredible review / video.
My days of Gran Turismo came back to me. Thanks for featuring such a rare car like this. You should do more from the Gran Turismo line that people loved from the game!
Yes!! more videos on older cars please. Love to hear how they compare to the newer stuff. Numerous old hot hatches, Sierra Cosworth, original Impreza and Evo, Audi 20v Quattro, Lotus Carlton to name but a few
I mostly like how the whole experience he's just grinning, that it self explains whats it feel like to drive one of those.
Yes please, more skyline reviews.I did not even know about this 400RAmazing vid. Thank you.
Love the video. Lets you experience a bit of what it would feel like to drive this amazing classic.
Such a rare sight. Thanks for finding and testing this car, true legend.
Wow what a review. PLEASE evo more of this thanks!
What a car. What a video. The references to Gran Turismo are fantastic and spot on. This is by far the nicest GTR ever and you're lucky to have driven one. God, I love that era of Japanese car.
Great vid as always! Though I'd consider R34 Nismo Z-Tune to be the ultimate Skyline.
Yeah that was my first thought aswell. Still a great car tho
Agreed, the Z Tune was a supercar destroyer back in its day.
+camryt I agree completely. The 400R does make the R33 look great ( A difficult task ) Where as the R34 looks great as standard and the Z-Tune just makes it. Still a great bit of engineering though.
+camryt Stole the words right outta my mouth. Either that or mine's r34. Those grainy videos of tsuchiya and orido encompassed my early 20's. I was impressionable and it costed my license and high insurance but it was hella worth it. The r34 still remains my dream car.
Same thing I said when I read the title. But if it want for the 400R, the Skyline R34 GT-R Nismo Z-Tune wouldn't exist.
oh my god. so beautiful
Please do more of these older cars. Maybe someday something like the 200th issue of evo? That was an amazing issue.
+Phoenix60 I'd agree. Icons/heroes call them what you will but it's worth a look at some of the other kit in light of modern times
Ahhh another soothing review by EVO . Great video!
Really great to see an old JDM road car on this channel. Keep it coming!
IM VERY GLAD THAT SOMEONE MADE A VIDEO FOR THIS CAR! KUDOS FOR THEM!
Reason I feel in love with the model vs the other R32 and R34 is because I grew up wanting a 240sx 95-99 and the Nissan Silvia. The similarities is so awesome.
Excellent stuff as always, guys.
Those Nismo LMGT1 wheels make me want a Nissan just to have something to put them on.
Of course we have all driven this to the max in GT-series! Lovely car, nice video
Absolutely beautiful! The Gran Turismo hype at the beginning was spot on! And the purple on this car is just insane!
This is awesome.
Reviewing my all time favourate car the R33 in a modern way.
plus mention of my all time favourate driving simulator.
Brilliant!!!
The best video EVO have done..awesome
Best video on evo after a very long time!
It's 400 horsepower of official specification, but measurement is 450 horsepower.
55 for 120,000 dollars were sold.
4door sedan model exists a little, too.
thank you EVO! ahh that skyline life...bliss
Great episode and props for mentioning Best Motoring, but at 1:40 you should have said Tsukuba :D
The looks and the sound of the engine, especially during boost are legendary...
WOW!!! Awesome video! Awesome car!!! I love the GT2 references and BM too!! Jethro is king! There's only one car I want more, the 2002 NSX-R
Thanks for reviewing this icon car! please keep going with the old school Japanese cars :)
Love the car to bits, and you couldn't have picked a better person to review it than JB.
My favourite skyline. The R33 is the best looking skyline. Dream car for sure.
Amazing video as usual, great review as well i really enjoy Jethro's style. i really hope you guys are looking to follow this video with a Z-tune review, IF you can find one. It seems to be everyone here is on the same page !
cheers.
Not very often I made a comment on video..... But this si such a legend. Now I wanna play gran turismo again :)))
My all time favourite car ever.. Now 20 years old ..Man I'm getting old ..
R33s don’t get enough love, it’s either the R32 or R34, not knocking either of those cars, i love those too, but I with more people would appreciate what a beauty the R33 is
epic! thank you evo team!
great series of videos
Fantastic video guys 👌
amazing man! i love your vids! pls make video for z-tune nismo r-34 :)
This car is one of thr best cars to have come out of Japan. imagine this car tuned to 800hp with an anti lag system and a blow off valve turbo 😨. heaven
Really enjoyed this video. Great work by the crew and great presentation by Jethro.
That being said, where's our friend Henry? We're past mid January and he's yet to be seen.
No, wait...now seeing the Aventador video.
i am glad that some of these amazing cars end up in the hands of true lovers. i would be really sad to see such an amazing car end up riced with a huge body kit, after market rims etc...
as stock as possible...perfect!!!
Hurry up GT7 and GT sport, what a car! Brings back some memories.
R33's were emasculated before they got off the lot. Per gentleman's agreement, each one has a boost pill inside it. This also regulated emissions and whatnot. Take the boost pill out and you have a beast.
Now,This is interesting Video from Evo for Very Long time Nice GTR 400R Limited edition hope there is another videos of Japan Secret Super cars And Rare cars to see
Jethro was grinning the whole time lol
Cracking car!
I still have a near mint 400R brochure from Japan. About A3 in size. Gorgeous print quality. Almost imported one back in the 90's.
great review. evo just won me back
Bravo!! Well done!! Amazing video!! I hope you can drive R34 GTR Z Tune..!
If they got to drive in this stunning 400R, and they also got to drive the legendary CALSONIC R32, we need to see them get their hands on the TOM'S Castrol Toyota Supra that i used from Gran Turismo 1 all the way upto Gran Turismo 6, can never get a good video of the real thing:P
one of my dream cars as a kid, Along with the nsx r. great review
torque GT also imported a na1 and na2 nsx R both would be great review
love that rear snap in the turns!
Saw this car at torque gt in devon when i picked my car up last october. Absolutely gorgeous in real life
I would just like to say it's awesome hearing a mainstream UK magazine acknowledge Best Motoring in a review.
ahhhh I adored that car in Gran Turismo. At the time because it was fast and yellow...but now I can appreciate it for what it is. Sure I had a 270R Silvia too and I loved the MR layout Del Sol...though not sure they ever made one in the metal.
very cool....great review...ever looking to review a R32 GTR road car gimme a shout if ever in Ireland
That midnight purple color is one of the most beautyful i´ve ever seen
As suppliers of this specific 400R we can only echo Jethro's review. Its certainly a car we wished we could have kept ourselves!
THAT EXHAUST THOU!!!
Bout time the r33 got some respect. Great vid, fam.
This is the pinnacle of GTR for me
20 years already!!! i m feeling old right now
Nice review! 400R is the only R33 version I like. I'm more of a fan of the R32's and R34's! Thanks for this review! Awesome!
20yrs and she's still a beauty
Love the fact you are working your way through the GT hero cars Jethro - now you've done the 400r & yellow bird... When will you strap yourself into the speed 12?
Holy unicorn what an awesome car, great driving too!
Great Video Great Car!
Good to see you Jethro....
Finally!
Awesome feature!
Now get your hands on a R32 GTR and R34 GTR!
Just a heads up to anyone interested. This just sold on auction in Japan for over 2 million USD .
R33 400r … unreal .
incredibly cool machine, so much drooling over it on gran turismo. 90s japanese homologation specials/super sports cars were so fucking sick
More reviews for cars like these older Japanese cars please! And like everyone else has said, the Z-Tuned R34 GTR would be nice. :-)
