Yeah 12 years or more ago....so what? It was an oil pipe failure that caused an uncontained engine event. Could you name an engine made by anyone that hasn`t had a failure.... you can`t because there isn`t one. RR`s Trent 900 has a very good reputation for reliability but like all things mechanical s*%t happens.

Oh these engines are only quiet when they put it on full power like this take off, this one was put up to 100% throttle.
@@TPExplorations 100% throttle is rarely used (emergencies or hot & high runways) since it significantly increases fuel use and engine wear.
