I'm glad I found this video! I have been struggling to remove the leaking cover on my 1980 Chevy 14 bolt differential. I finally got it off yesterday and then it took all day to remove the old Fel-Pro gasket (no silicone) from the cover. I had to apply 2 coats of paint remover to soften it enough to scape off with a utility knife. It was leaking all the way around. I was going to put it back on with silicone sealer but I hate using it for gaskets because I don't trust that it won't leak. I didn't know that anybody made a gasket like the Lube Locker. Thank you for making this video.
We do quite a bit together. In fact, in the video I'm just finishing; Turkey Creek 2020, we're learning how to you our new camera. Next up, a new gimble to stabilize my video!
I ordered this lubelocker gasket yesterday..I originally put a fel-pro paper gasket on my mustang but it won't stop leaking..torqued it also but no luck..got a feeling the lubelocker will be the answer ..thanks for your video.
I think one of the biggest concerns I have about the RTV is when it oozes out inside the cover and becomes foreign objects in the oil. If it gets ground up by the gear that would increase wear and may get in between the traction-lok friction pads
I understood that rtv gets attacked by ingredients in the gear oil and that is why a gasket is preferred, I don’t have any experience to share though - I am about to do mine I am gonna get a gasket
The other thing I find with off-roading is that when RTV is used, if the lip of the cover gets caught on rocks, it will start leaking. Every time in my experience. With a gasket, no. Thank you for watching.
love that you kid is so interested and envolved! Good parenting is NOT about getting it right, it's about getting involved. Keep it up!
Thank you, I try to keep him involved because he's showing interest. He likes spending time out in the garage with Dad.

Well thanks for watching. I'm sold on the Lube Locker. When using it, I've had no problems with leaks. Good luck!
Loving the sons great questions and interaction, sometimes I'm sad my son's are grown as they grow up fast. Thanks for sharing.
You aren't kidding, they grow up fast! I'm happy my son still loves to be with dad in the garage. Thanks for watching.
Good video. Your son is amazing. Thanks
Thank you. He's a bit older now and loves jeeping
Awesome to have Joseph helping you! Great addition to the channel!
Thank you! He loves the garage time.
@@TheRightLine its definitely good tobsee father and son doing this stuff together

Love the kids analogy with the bread.

Thanks for watching! Mine are still not leaking.
Good boy! Asking all the good questions. Love the sandwich squish analogy! I'm going with a Fel-Pro for my 1999 Mustang gt.
Thank you, he's a great kid and very smart. Thanks for watching.
Old video but am going to very much agree with everyone. Great teaching moment for your kid and we all get the same benefit. Thanks!
Thank you. Means a lot to me.
Lube Locker gaskets for Dana 30 and 44 are due today. Stoked to try. Took a good hit last weekend and have been leaking since. Thanks for the info.
I installed mine a while back and no leaky. Awesome gaskets.
@@TheRightLine rear is in and no leak. Hallelujah!!! Lube Locker for the win!
Win!!!
Hey thanks for your presentation and opinion. If I wind up going with a gasket, I'll try that Lube Locker too.
Thank you for watching

Yes and people tend to over do it with RTV.
Lube locker is all I run! I have never had 1 leak, and I have reused a Lube Locker 3x's before replacing it.
Awesome. I've good luck with this one so far! Love it.
Having 4 sons myself, video sounds very familiar, going to try LubeLocker on my truck
Sweet. Love the lube locker.
"RTV sucks (son)" Raise 'em right so they don't make or repeat mistakes of others. Thumbs up. LOL!
Yes it does suck! I've had those gaskets in for a while now and no leaks!!
Gasket, every day. It wasn't that long ago that using sealant as a gasket was considered the lazy mechanic's route. There's a reason for that.
Thank you.
@@TheRightLine some are using Rtv and a gasket. I bought both and Rtv cost more than the felpro gasket.
@@MC-hs4mf the problem with running both is the rtv etchs in the metal so it screws up the gasket over time
Now heres the question for the feltpro gaskets should i put a layer of gear oil rtv along the gasket
Personally, I like copper spray gasket on the gasket to the cover to get it to stick to the cover. I don't put anything on the LubeLocker.
Lube locker goes on everything I own.
I plan to keep using them. Love em.

@@TheRightLine I am definitely going to try one of those gaskets that you showed in the video they look very good
Your son was asking questions that I had lol
Love it. He asks lots of good questions. So, the video helped? Thanks for watching.
I think ill give these lube lockers a day in court
Still no leaks with mine. Definitely happy with them.
Update?
Sealing perfectly. No leaks. Thanks for watching.
lol love the intro, you stink!
Great vid but I'm using rtv on my car didnt have any gaskets but check out my channel
