i have been contacted by a great theory crafter that can clarify one thing : the longer the rotation the better jinhsi's team becomes and that makes sense since jiyan takes more time in his rotation , so it's true that the first rotation does only have 5% but it can get up to 30% . the point of the video doesn't change but this is worth noting :)

If you consider characters being better than others as "powercreep", then sure, power creep is already in the game.
Although i wouldn't even consider it cause Jinhsi is, clearly, a very important character to the story so i believe its normal for her damage to be that high.
But if you consider characters being thrown in the trash, so not being able to use them anymore for endgame, as "powercreep" then there is no such thing as powercreep is Wuthering Waves.
i agree 100% with what you’re saying. powercreep doesnt exist if you dont care about it. sure characters will be more powerful than other characters but if you dont really care about how much damage that character does, then powercreep wont really matter. if you’re a serious player , then yeah powercreep will really matter but im pretty sure most of the characters can be used for specific enemies and bosses. use whatever character you want if you care about comfortability and playstyle.

well i have to agree on this, maybe Jiyan didn't fall behind on damage but the animation man, its crazy, comparing Jinhsi animation visual effects with Jiyan, makes Jiyan looks like a 4*
Well, she indeed deals more dmg than jiyan. However jiyan is by far the best aoe dps in the game ATM and it'll remain the best at grouping mobs for quite a while

Plus with multiple enemies, grouping=more effective damage. With jinhsi you might need another rotation just to nuke that one stray that got away.

@@umani9983 Jue echo skill and Jinhsi's ultimate have ridiculous AOE so grouping isn't really needed. Also, after 4 BA, jinhsi attacks gains a significant aoe increase. The only time I needed to chase an enemy as jinhsi, is when I don't have my ultimate, I'm not in my ascendance state, the enemy has long range or they are those pesky coward mobs.
And I have tried Jiyan before, he's more consistent on grouping, but he still suffers from long range enemies and pesky coward mobs. While Jiyan's ultimate gives him unlimited parry and stagger, it cannot stun elite or bosses.
Jinhsi needs stacks and right rotation that takes time. While Jiyan just ungga bungga, better at grouping and parrying. Jinhsi haa Big NUKE, while Jiyan has small nuke with consistent DPS. Changli has also nuke with her forte that is higher than Jiyan, but lower than Jinhsi, while Changli also has consistent DPS than Jinhsi.
Gacha gamers cannot comprehend Continuous DPS and Burst DPS. Nor play style archetypes.

I think the real powercreep will be not in numbers, but in animations that just let people dodge/parry easier, more automatically. Can't wait for such a character, I can't stand this parry/dodge shit. I want to unga bunga.

Yinlin and Verina with Jinhsi : NO
Yuanwu and Taoqi with Jinhsi : YES
Yeah Yinlin needs to fill her forte to give coordinated attacks, which requires a bit of on screen time. Yuanwu just needs to show up and press E.
kinda agree with this. people just forcing yinlin in team just bcz but dont consider that its taking ages to fill the forte gauge bar with her. even with c2 jinshi, yuanwu becomes more optimal since dps spikes so much with more frequent jin field time
nah its Yuanwu + Verina
both char have coordinated attacks (so jinshi can fill up forte faster and quick rotations) and they dont require much field time unlike taoqi and yinlin however yinlin does outscale yuanwu both in terms of dmg output as a character and for the team overall team

Poweer creep becomes issue when damage floor becomes higher thus old unit falls under that new floor and becomes unviable, damage celling increase is less of a problem than former issue. We can use this logic to fit into games that has powercreep like Hi3rd and see if that fits or not.
jiyan unique is he gather mobs full time in ult duration, so i think it's hard to power creep him unless there are another chara with the same function and doing better dps
also Kuro is well know of making games that take very long time to release the "power creep" chara so we can have more hope for ww that going the same way

there're only skilled player vs skill issues player, some bro solo bosses with chixia. and there's people like me who got full team well build and die multiple times

PGR already did this, They are called "leaps". Vera, an A rank support, is now viable to be a Dark dps because of her leap (buff)

All these calculations are based on a situation that will never happen in real life.

I don't hate Jiyan, actually I have him, and that's the powercreep he is having rn. It is big marginal? No! but Jinhsi is defo powercreep him, no matter how you look at it. Especially if you have skill issue with Jiyan and it's team. Jinhsi can use grapple tech and it is amazing how Gapple CD is tangled with her Reso Skill. Also Jinhsi can break shield every two rotations, and adding Yanwu vibration buff, she able to destroy boss shield within 1 and half rotations. The fact that you can abuse that is insane. For Taoqi who has a problem with concerto and shield, Jinhsi allows her to abuse shield that skip boss mechanics like crownless attacks. Take note, she still don't have dedicated support. Probably 1.2 characters, because 1.1 are catered to Skill Damage where as Taoqi doesn't work well with Jinhsi since she doesn't have teamwide heal/coordinated attack/she's a tank. Yanwu is good and 0 brain to play in Jinhsi team but he doesn't give much to Taoqi in return because Taoqi attack is slow as hell. So yeah probably 1.2! who knows.

Well considering that Jinhsi is the magistrate of Jinzhou, it would be really questionable if a general is stronger or equal in strength than a sentinel's resonator, who btw had their second awakening.

im doing a no pull account and posting a series about it on my yt, the game is still very fun and i dont really care right now to pull since chixia solos everything for me.....LOVE THE CONTENT KEEP IT UP
Free to play peeps who have Jinhsi clearing tower at 70 and Jiyan struggling at 80: "are you sure about that?"
thing i always think of while pulling is how long will this character remains useable till they introduce new replacement for it.. so for example.. rn jiyan is the only areo dps.. and for him to get replaced with same element ie. new areo dps.. its gonna take a while.. each patch stays for like 40 days with 2 new characters.. so after changli.. there will be havoc + glacio then after that next banners will go through same element repeat again.. but this time they will be either support or buffers.. so like rn we only have calcharo and electro dps.. but future banner will replace him with with better electro dps which we can pair with yinlin and that team will become strong again.. same with areo.. we instead of dps next areo might be or even some other elemental character that buffs jiyan way better than mortefi in terms of buffing charge attack + areo damage boost like how yinlin buffs electro..
so it takes a lotta time to replace old characters.. and elements cuz of floor buffs does matter in tower of adversity.. i bet after reset new tower will have pyro + spectro buff for next rotation for changlis banner..
and even if the character get replaced after 7-8 months with better alternative.. u should be already bored using the old one.. its totally fine

people have some weird obsession about powercreep, in HSR kids cry all the time about how seele got powercrept and yet she's more than capeable of clearing content, same thing in genshin
as long as older characters are still viable powercreep is irrelevant, it's only a problem if older characters cant keep up with the content that's getting harder
for those who cares about powercreep I have suggestion for you: just pull last character before the game close :D

Seriously though! Like I get wanting to be meta and everything but no one is playing this game with months or years worth on insight (currently). Changli can release and out DPS Jhinsi tenfold (it’s an exaggeration, and hate that it needs to be said) but what if the character after Changli out damaged her? You won’t know until the character is here and Changli is gone. BUT what if the next character after that is stronger than that one? You see the cycle Im sure. Then there’s the people that only pulls on supports. I gave into that meta in HSR and I ended up dropping the game because we got Ruan Mei, Sparkle, and Robin basically one after the other and I hated it because I never had currency for the characters I actually wanted to pull (Lucked out on getting Acheron lol).

Or just pull the new characters as soon as they appear, to have fun with their gameplay and clear content for months. And avoid pulling them on rerun, unless they've been proven to be op. It's like Ganyu/Ayaka and Yelan situation in Genshin Impact.

I'm not stressing too much about powercreep and pulling for characters hrover/danjin/verina, jiyan/mortefi/baizhi, encore/sanhua/jianxin is all I need.
I dont even run Yinlin with Jinshi, me team is Yuanwu(hwo tf is that?) and Baizi/Verina, and thats good coz it gives Jinshi and Jiyan a variety in terms of Tower teams = you can run both is you have them
Yinlin is married to my Sephiroth and I dont intend to break that marriage anytime soon
I literally used a level 1 Yuanwu with level 1 weapon and unleveled echoes on my Jinshi team to get 11 out of 12 stars one one side of Tower of Adversity. His only purpose was to heal and provide coordinated stacks for Jinshi. My Calcharro got 10 out of 12 on the other side. 1 Star in the middle tower but I had to use Yinlin for that one. It is pretty hard to juggle characters without having 3 full teams built.

When jiyan is about to be powercrept a suitable sub dps will be released that will buff him so good that it makes him on par with latest dps chars. Maybe a heavy attack buff + aero amplified or etc

All I know is if I wanna take someone to L6 Hologram, Jinhsi would be my first pick over Jiyan.

PGR Player here, and I'd say that Kuro really does powercreep characters. So you can expect powercreeping in the future. But that's like a given in any gacha games, unless you want your new characters to be ignored by the playerbase. However, the way they make the enemies more difficult is a bit different. Instead of being tankier, from what we experienced on endgame PGR stuff, they put more emphasis on "damage." So expect future enemies to halve your health just from grazing your clothes. And that's just like the most basic stuff. There are lightning that falls in the sky that you need to dodge cause it decreases your ult gauge, bombs that explode after defeating an enemy, 1 chara gets only 1 dodge, and various bs debuff and boss buff you can think of. I swear Kuro Devs are closet sadists. However, the silver lining is the enemies' health are paper like, so it's just skill-based if you win or not. Although I don't know if Kuro will also implement this, it's possible. Enjoy >:)

Got a fully built Yinlin but swapped her with unbuilt Yuanwu main focus here is to spam Jinhsi’s skill 4 as much as possible and electro daddy does it better than electro mommy. Got a feeling Changli is a sub dps like Yinlin. Big give away is the outro skill. All dps focused characters has somewhat similar outro skill same goes with subs dps and supports.
you can put yinlin in another team cause lv1 yanwu is more than enough for jinhsi(if you can keep him alive), all she need is off field dps to spam her e skill and yanwu tower is perfect for her plus you don't need to build yanwu at all
Hopefully can get my final waveband for Jinhsi!
I have both Jiyan and Jinshi and they are both very strong. Jiyan can start his rotation way faster then Jinshi and is much less reliant on specific stacks or buffs. Jinshi dmg potential is insane but its also more work to get there. They are both good Charakters and I would say that Jiyan is much better at aoe (because of the grouping) then Jinshi

There is powercreep but not that much cuz in this game, even the character with worse dmg can kill a boss due to the gameplay's reliance on the player's skills but that's just my opinion.
i do agree with that , only in tower of adversity which relies on the investments on a character as much as the skills if not even more

I would love to know where you got your calculations from because CN analysis have shown Jinshi being around 30% better at every level of investement
Probably practical? CN analysis has been consistently off in this game because its just theoretical number crunching and not based on actual gameplay. Jiyan's damage is probably closer because he auto parries everything and never has to deal with strays due to better grouping. I haven't seen the calculations, so I'm just guessing based on Jiyan's non-damage related strengths over Jinhsi.
I have all 3 limited 5 stars and personally I feel like Jiyan is still the best DPS in the game.
Jinhsi does a lot of damage, but the ease of play with Jiyan is extremely valuable because it's not like Genshin where everything is a DPS check, in Wuwa you need to dodge the Lv100 boss attacks in Tower of Adversity or you will get one shot. Jinhsi feels like she is very immobile when you activate her dragon state and it's kinda brain dead because your only option is to do 4 basic attacks then the dragon laser.
We will be getting character leaps 😂
People forgot she is the Magistrate. Genshin's Archon's r super powerful units too. But no one saying a thing.

Venti is not that powerful at all, Zhongli is a shieldbot (powerful in his own way, but not the way you would imagine an all-powerful being to be), Raiden is long since just ok, easily replaced with others and Furina is not an archon, so there was no reason to make her so powerful, what a bs on hoyo part.

Beacause they were powercrept. Venti was unstoppable in his time that genshin has to make the new mobs immune to cc. Zhongli was op af that those that have him plays in easy mode. @@vincentwolf1456
I don't have jiyan or yinlin, should I go for jinhsi or changli? I could use jinhsi as my main dps but I also have Encore from my lost 50/50 so changli's buff would also work. I like jinhsi a bit more but I can't get a lot of her stacks, I also won't pull for both
The only thing Jiyan got powercreep so bad by Jinhsi is the Animation and Visuals Effects, its actually crazy how much of an improvement we see in Jinhsi animation compared to Jiyan, it makes Jiyan looks like a 4 star compared to Jinhsi. Well things can only get better from now and i expect many good things from Wuthering Waves and Kuro Games.

why does nobody bother to mention they're not the same element... enemies can resist or be weak, and tower floors can give buffs to certain elements. they're quite simply 2 dps units of different elements. if another aero weak floor shows up Jiyan will be better for that floor than Jinhsi, and vice versa.
You're the CC here where does the two mentioned characters are in the current chinese meta boards rn, then compare that to the past and the upcoming update then we can really talk power creep.
my pulls on wuwa has the same intent as my pulls on hsr. ill check the rate up 4*, and if they good (to me at least) ill try pull their dupes. if i got the rate up 5* is just a bonus.

There might be some power creep but that won't mean the older characters will be useless because Kuro would probably add game modes where you need more teams to play

First rotation of Jinshi has zero stacks skill to get outro, then accumulate forte for her on other characters and then damage goes. Isn't Jiyon first rotation faster in that regards? And instead from second to third and so on, when u establish her rotation with good forte, she can deal more damage?
jinhsi is a burst dps that requires teammates to build up stacks so in a proper set up shes gonna do more damage jiyan has consistent dps he doesnt really need a team around him because he can do everything by himself you just want to buff his existing damage also has ease of use if you mess up a rotation with jinhsi you lose uptime and damage with jiyan the moment you ult youre just left clicking

I think at some point in game, we need to accept which chr can be slightly op/broken... For eg: jinhsi, spoiler alert, she is the megistrate and was gifted/blessed by power of sentinel jue... So of course she need to be slightly stronger then other jinzhou chr. Its an acceptable powercreep based on story and hierarchy. Unless jiyan have some epic lore/story later on then its a different thing all together...

THE ANIMATION POWERCREEP.
This isnt a firefly powercreep no, but you know its coming.
Kuro does have power creep but I would guess it would be per gen, meaning like in PGR a generation wide mechanic would be the defining if there is a power creep like timestop mechanic in pgr which like the name suggest pauses stage timers while your character do their ult animation which in turn gives you more dps, and from there a new gen would be higher damage scaling. But for now I don't think year 1 characters of wuwa will do a powercreep amongst themselves.
I think they will balance more with WuWa
Honestly, I just pulled Jinhsi (I hope I spelled her name right) because her animations are pretty. Same thing with Jiyan, I'd say from my experience they have similar damage numbers (but that might be because I haven't learned their rotations properly yet).
Powercreep cannot be apply to wuwa atm because we literally has nothing to base off of, we dont even have 1 full elemental team, people really be making up powercreeping to hide their skill issue fr 😂

Tbh powerful limited main dps units are not that enticing unless their design is peak or their gamplay is fun, havoc rover already smashes everything, so im saving for the next op support

I've both ot them but without sig weapon. Sometimes i use both with Verina or 1 of them with Yanglin. But i fell in love with ChangLi the character and animation are so good. The only thing i miss from genshin is the elemenal interaction between two elements.

Does she powercreep a bit in the overworld?? Yes but that doesnt matter. Later when more endgame is added, we'll eventually need dps of all elements anyways.
Is it worth skipping Jinhsi and her weapon for Changli and her weapon? Especially when I got situation when weapon is guaranteed in 10 more pulls, but I still can lose 50/50 on Jinhsi and be left with only a niche weapon (E skill buff heavyblade)

At the end of the day, just play whatever you like. Jinhsi is just easier to play that's all. And she have Jué as a specific echo that buff can buff her exactly like her kit. Jiyan has generic echo that buff anybody

I can’t even switch to the other chars bc her energy recharge is so fast 🥲🥲😂 it’s on 151% now

power creep is a thing in every game.
It's probably too early for power creep, I know in most gotcha it'll happen eventually, year 1/phase 1 characters usually are much weaker than the meta characters of 2 or 3.

Jinhsi still havent a dedicated support. Even taoqi or yuanwu work as well, we need a better support, and when she has the better support maybe will have powercreep
so far I feel Jinshi can solo, but this will made she build up her gauge really slow, so she needs a team, while Jiyan can just solo NP
So it tower you can use only Jiyan clear 1-3 floor which will save a lot of cost

meanwhile i just used encore only today to beat 1-3 floor too on the new reset of TOA
and use 2 jinhsi for the 4 cost stages and 2 remaining

It’s all fun and games until you lose a 50/50 😢 I was like you. Started building pity, ended up with calcharo c1, Jiyan c1, and Jinhsi c1, now I pray for Changli cause I got jinshi and cal in less than 6 pulls between each other 😭
