To see an F1 car on a regular city road with a typical city backdrop is really a sight to behold. It's just so strange to witness it yet so cool. It's just too exotic to be in this setting. And shot this way, the car looks super "darty" and nervous which makes the car look like it's wayyyy too powerful to be on such roads! And the sound that reverberates through those building blocks must be deafening! I can imagine the best effect for sound is when the F1 car is speeding through one of those bridges, and you hear the howling engine sound from either side of the land!

F1 has been holding street circuit races for a few decades now (Monaco, Singapore, etc). Now this year they've already done Miami with Las Vegas next year.
the balls to drive on NYC roads are 10x being in an official circuit race. this video just pointed out what a trash hole NYC is and how one man was able to survive neglect

I’d love to know how fast they were driving, the northbound FDR would destroy an unaltered F1 car, especially between E23rd and the 59th St. bridge. I’m guessing it didn’t go above 30mph. Redbull, give your editing and production people raises, they did a good job on this one.
NYC consumes a few dollars for this type of filmography, they haven't done it out of kindness since 1980. that's why every single modern movie is shot in Toronto. i bet they had like 5-15 minutes max on each portion and consumed an unimaginable budget along with 6 months of permits and planning.

what coordination? nyc shuts down every road for less. just last week they shut down multiple blocks because they part a road work truck there to do nothing.

That must’ve been loud as hell. I was there in 2005 when Mark Webber ‘drove’ his Williams FW26 across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and THAT was loud. Although the asinine fun police restricted his speed to 70kph - which is the actual speed limit on the bridge - I cross it twice a day…..

The car is modified. If you hear the revolutions in the engine it can show you that although maybe not reaching F1 track speeds, he was going fast.
Looks like at some point it might have hit maybe 90-100 mph on the bridge but that’s about it.
