So back in the day folks were upset when nascar would do that in NYC for the banquet awards but all of a sudden it seems like F1 does it and everyone is like yeah yeah great.
It's a shame to put any kind of car in american roads. Filled with potholes and poorly patched surfaces. People don't lay new layers of asphalt, only piss poor patches here and there. Too bumpy. You'll only destroy your car's suspension.

All people were behind those concrete barricades. The street was left side open and at a longer distance. The drivers were able to pick up speed as they drove down the street. (Of course not racing speed), but fast.
