thanks!! i didnt have much time to tune the sequential voltage for the arp, since i usually use the keyboard for the ostinato and the sequential voltage for the bass, but i still tried to show the sound pallette available on this wonderful instrument
Great demo, Nick you have to do more to let people understand what an Easel is. Is there a site to share recall sheets (even if based on my small experience the main interesting thing in an easel sound is the path not the goal). nb: owner of a modern since a few weeks, I had a Roman clone version and decided to get a modern as self 50th birthday present 😂 Cya from .be
While this is a great video, the best is Nick's performance over the same weekend. It's pure inspiration... kinda one of those "I'm going to sell everything and just use an easel from now on" things... a master at work!
Nick is an amazing musician. Don't get it why companies don't get more talented musicians for their presenters. Maybe it's not so much about art and more about the industry and selling technical equipment called synthesizers. As much is I love synthesizers myself, the business and sales part takes over too much in the last years. But I'm happy, I can still watch the trustworthy Nick Bath and don't get annoyed.
All that space, and still they use 3.5mm mini-jack MIDI? What's up with that? Anyway, as ever it's still a great instrument with a nice recognisable sound, and a brilliant demonstration.
I came here to complain about it. They've got that huge panel taking up an eighth of the case and they still give you midi on 3.5mm breakout jacks. C'mon.
You can hear with the arpeggio around 3.30 that they really haven't made an effort to sort out the tracking. The tuning is terrible, made worse by him adding the other oscillator until he quickly makes the envelope shorter to hide it.
@@pyrofiliac Well 'bro' , if you notice steps 1+4 are in the bottom and top positions, and these are usually always in tune with each other. Of course the interval will change as you raise the pitch amount of the oscillator, but it tends to stretch the range in tune with itself. You would know this if you took 2 seconds to look, before writing a comment on the internet.
@@johnbeer2854what do you mean by this? the sequential voltage source is simply a source of control voltage. the interval between the bottom and the top is determined entirely by the position of the input attenuator for the pitch control voltage input. because this is the case, you can have any range of pitches you want, up to several octaves, or less than an octave, or anything in between
@@pyrofiliac I mean there is no time when increasing or decreasing the attenuator that the tuning between top and bottom sequencer pitch ever really leaves an in tune western scale. At least not on my BEMI Easel. This video sounds like bad tracking/scaling, which is something the BEMI easel suffers from when played on the keyboard.
@@johnbeer2854 so, once again, the arpeggio in this video is not coming from the keyboard. it's being played by the sequential voltage. which is not quantized. the 218e touch activated voltage source on the new easels has none of the documented tuning issues of the bemi easels. you made an assumption that the arpeggio in this video was coming from the 218e. it is not. it is coming from the sequential voltage source. so the poor tuning is entirely my fault due to not setting the sequential voltage sliders precisely enough, and not the fault of the equipment.
IT IS HYPER EXPENSIVE AND IS NOT AT ALL LIKE THE ORIGINAL IF YOU OPEN AND SEE INSIDE !!! what people wanted from Music Easel is the exact recreation of the vintage circuitry (who cares about enclosure purism, is the circuitry that make the sound), this thing is surface mount circuitry inside exactly same tech like every of the shelf Behringer “ BUT HEY IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL ALUMINUM CASE AND BEAUTIFUL KNOBS 🤦🏼♂️ “

0:24- 3:25 Thats not a bird in the background, its just a ground breaking new synthesizer being demoed.
Great demo. I've always wanted one of these and I'm certain if I work all day and night and never give up, I will still not be able to afford one 😆
Also, Nick, this is one of the best synth demos on RUclips. You bless the gear and help others see its proper potential . Thank you 👊🏼🍻

Whoa!!! Was not expecting that rather epic performance! Daaaang! That’s how you run a demo!
What a good demo! Some fever, I listen it twice, and i ll do it again !
Gorgeous tone ❤ wow. A performer's dream instrument ❤
Nick's music is always cool. And he is always patient with my annoying questions as a customer.
patching buchla rewards patience. just like ordering buchla 😂
Absolutely sick patch, and a sick performance!
Nick absolutely killing it per usual
Terrific demo!
Great performance. Bravoo
Great performance
Excellent demo
Best demo ever Nick!!
Wow! 🤩 Amazing demo! 💥
Not often you hear a musical Buchla demo, but this was a good one.
not my best but im always improving! thank you
Could do with a tuning reference though
It's such a nice looking synth after all these years. Maybe they could do an IOS version for us mere mortals.... like Moog have done :)
The Arturia plugin is pretty great.
@@zackcolbourne6921 I do have that one and yes it's great but it would be good in Ipad/touch
@@zackcolbourne6921 def. I've got a old parts clone and hardly take it out anymore because of Easel V
Now this is something when you hear you know it’s worth it. Incredible. A lot of new fancy stuff out, but does it really sound special?
Sick demo
This demo slaps!!!!
Nick smashed it. Easel techno arps!

Nice demo. Would love to play on one of these one day.

What a fun patch!
Weren't Behringer going to bring out an affordable version of The Easel called "Enigma" - or did I imagine that?
I used the big brother 200e for 3 years. theres nothing like Buchla
Nick Kwas? Moved on from Korg huh, good to see he's still demoing products.

That sounds great, but for 5k?thats tough man
I know somebody is gonna complain about those midi jacks, but I don't mind. lol
Allow me to. $5000 and they can't be bothered to include proper MIDI jacks nor even MIDI Thru.
I came here to complain about it. They've got that huge panel taking up an eighth of the case and they still give you midi on 3.5mm breakout jacks. C'mon.
Too bad they kept the green color for the modulation oscillator. Blue is more like the original.

yeah bro, its because the arpeggio is using an unquantized sequential voltage source. it has nothing to do with tracking.
