Saw the thumbnail, the intro, the editing, the voiceover and thought, “wow, this must be a pretty big channel”, but to my surprise it wasn’t. This is amazing work! Can’t wait to see the channel grow
The editing and footage in this is immaculate, this is gonna pop off so hard. and coincidentally its about something I've been thinking of a lot lately, loving your interpretation!
What a start to a channel, to make this big of a video, I can tell it’s years in the making. Just like you hinted to at the end of the video I would personally love an in depth video on the Donkey Kong timeline as it is a personal favourite of mine.
I'm so glad to be here for the start of your journey! I love this video; you put so much effort into making it a great watch. I cannot wait to see your channel flourish!
Hi Robbie! I really enjoyed the video. Excellent style, editing and humour. Overall, very well researched and great conclusions reached. I do have a few nitpicks that I’d like to go over. I’ll put rough timestamps for the piece I’m responding to: [5:06] While the Super Mario Bros. Deluxe does indeed remove the mention of Horsetail Plants, I think it’s important to keep in mind Super Mario Bros.’s rerelease on Nintendo Switch Online (which you showed in the video regardless, so good catch) does still mention them. It’s probable that both are true - Bowser transformed them into plants and mushrooms. [5:26] The phrase used to describe Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels is “パラレルワールド”, which is pronounced “parareru warudo”, literally a loan from the English “Parallel World”. While it’s certainly a valid reading that the game is merely a different version of Mario in a different version of the Mushroom Kingdom, therefore not being canon, another possible reading is that Bowser kidnapped Peach again immediately after Super Mario Bros. and brought her to this Parallel World. This is supported by Super Mario Bros.: For Super Players in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe having a special reward for Mario after clearing it (with Mario receiving the Yoshi award instead of the Mario award), as well as the timeline screen shown when F.L.U.D.D. scans Mario in Super Mario Sunshine, which places “Super Mario Bros. 2” between “Super Mario Bros.” And “Super Mario Bros. 3”. The full list is as follows: MARIOBROS SUPERMARIOBROS SUPERMARIOBROS 2 SUPERMARIOBROS 3 SUPERMARIOWORLD SUPERMARIOKART SUPERMARIO64 MARIOKART64 MARIOSUNSHINE Perhaps the Parallel World is the same as the Special Worlds from Super Mario 3D Land? Remixed versions of levels from the main game and Poison Mushrooms are even found in both. In any case, even as a Parallel World without the game starting the Mario we know, it would still be a “canon” game in a sense, just in some other part of the Mario Universe or Multiverse. [6:28] Like you briefly mentioned, Super Mario Bros. 2 is not just a dream. As revealed in the sequel, BS Super Mario USA, as well as other information in later games such as Shy Guy’s description from Mario Superstar Baseball, Subcon is a very real Kingdom that was invaded by Wart that’s merely located in the Dream World, which people in the real world can access through their dreams. Wart, Birdo, the Subcons and the 8-Bits are probably mostly “tangible” beings that could leave the Dream World if they so choose. The whole Dream World concept is later expanded upon in Mario Party 5 and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. [7:00] Actually, yes he does really save the Mushroom World and Princess Toadstool once again. While yes, Super Mario Bros. 3 has the aesthetics of a play, that’s all they are. Aesthetics, a framing device. In-universe, the events of the game are all very real. Shigeru Miyamoto has made a more recent comment insinuating Super Mario Bros. 3 is canon, bringing up the Kings as rulers of other countries surrounding the Mushroom Kingdom. Like you mentioned, the events are acknowledged as (fictionally) real in later titles, such as uper Mario World, which is a direct sequel to and features a crashed airship from Super Mario Bros. 3, and Super Mario Odyssey, which features Bowser having a memory of fighting Mario during Super Mario Bros. 3. It’s also worth noting that all of the “play” elements were removed in remakes or otherwise recontextualised to make sense within the established Mario World. For example, the Bolted Platforms are just a thing that’s found in many Mario games. They’re screwed together because they’re big man-made boxes, not because they’re props. I would go as far as to say Super Mario Bros. 3 happened in-universe exactly as we see it in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. The whole play idea is for the player, rather than an in-universe concept. [7:15] Minor, but Miyamoto didn’t talk about the Koopalings in that Mario Myths video, it was actually in an interview with GameInformer 3 years earlier. [Continued in Reply]
[9:37] I think you reached the right conclusion here. Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins after Super Mario World tends to work better for various reasons I won’t get into here, though just considering the manual of Super Mario Bros. 3, it seems that Mario and Luigi have only saved the Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels) by that point: “The Mushroom Kingdom has been a peaceful place thanks to the brave deeds of Mario and Luigi. The Mushroom Kingdom forms an entrance to the Mushroom World where all is not well.” [10:08] Minor, but she actually only invited Mario. Luigi and Wario tagged along as “party crashers”, according to the manual. The letter also wasn’t a trap, it was a genuine invitation for cake from Peach. Bowser just coincidentally happened to invade the castle between her sending the letter and Mario’s arrival and captured Mario, Luigi and Wario too when they headed to Bob-omb Battlefield. [10:23] The Lakitu explains that he’s one of the Lakitu Bros., a news reporter covering the story of the stolen stars. Dialogue from the intro of the original Super Mario 64: “Good afternoon. The Lakitu Bros., here reporting live from just outside the Princess's castle. Mario has just arrived on the scene, and we'll be filming the action live as he enters the castle and pursues the missing Power Stars.” Dialogue from Whomp’s Fortress, Super Mario 64 DS: “Hello! The Lakitu Bros. here, with a news update. Our hero is about to learn a technique for sneaking up on enemies. According to eyewitnesses, the trick to sneaking is walking slowly. And, as reported earlier, our hero can use the Touch Screen to walk slowly and run swiftly!” [11:40] It’s important to note that “galaxies” in Super Mario Galaxy make much more sense in the Japanese text. You see, in Japanese the native word for “Galaxy” (as in the real world term) is “Ginga”. However, the “Galaxies” (as in small clusters of planetoids) Mario himself visits are called “gyarakushī”, which is another english loan. In the Japanese version of the game, the specification is made between the two, but in English the word “Galaxy” is used interchangeably to describe both of these separate concepts. Fun fact, the same thing applies to Power Stars! “Sei” is the native japanese word for “star”, but Power Stars and their relatives use the word “sutā”, an English loan, to differentiate them from the literal stars. [11:55] It wasn’t just the lava planet that became the black hole, it was the entirety of Bowser’s Galaxy Reactor. It’s hard to notice but there’s actually a cross dissolve between the image of the Lava Planet and seeing the Black Hole at full size (Super Mario Galaxy actually has a lot of subtle cross dissolves like that in its cutscenes). The reason why this happens is also explained in the Japanese text, though missing in the localisation. “because the core of my new universe, the great king star, is almost finished!" Bowser was using the Grand Star to Power his Galaxy Generator. The purpose of the Galaxy Generator was to create a “Great King Star” in as the centrepiece for his new galactic empire. This is the star-like structure filled with holes that we see in the background during Mario’s final confrontation with Bowser. When Mario defeated Bowser and pulled the Grand Star out of his Galaxy Generator, the entire thing began to malfunction and collapsed, forming an all-consuming Black Hole. So while yes, this is mostly Bowser’s fault, Mario is probably partially to blame. Your conclusions about Rosalina’s story and how it relates to the 120 Stars ending cutscene are also spot-on! [12:33] Super Luigi Galaxy doesn’t seem to be the cycle of the universe after Super Mario Galaxy, but rather an alternate universe that runs parallel to Super Mario Galaxy (so essentially non-canon). This is implied by Rosalina’s dialogue in the Japanese version of the game, in which she states: “That number [120] represents the star power needed to enter another world. Another world... a world where you can meet someone who isn't you.” “Another World” here is highlighted green, implying the “someone who isn’t you” is the “Luigi” who takes Mario’s Place in the Super Luigi Galaxy Universe. Of course, Mario and Rosalina never get to travel to this other world, because the universe ends before they get the chance (Rosalina makes Mario fight Bowser before taking him there). It’s possible New Super Luigi U also takes place in this World. This means Super Mario Galaxy 2 is instead the direct followup to Super Mario Galaxy, which is corroborated by the ending of the game where we see Mario himself waking up back in the Mushroom Kingdom- not Luigi. This is also supported by developer commentary from Koichi Hayashida found in the files of Super Mario Galaxy 2, as well as unused dialogue from Rosalina (Forgive potential rough translation and keep in mind these may not reflect the final game, as they’re early developer notes and cut dialogue): “This is a parallel world of the Star Festival. It's depicted during the day to show the contrast. It takes place in a parallel galaxy to Grand Finale Galaxy, after the triumphant return of the Toad Brigade. I'm intentionally using familiar locations for those who played Galaxy 1 in order to hint at the concept of a parallel world and suggest the connection to Galaxy 1. (NPCs and transformations are also reused for this purpose)” - Koichi Hayashida “Where the world has switched, Peach’s Castle Town has been overrun by Bowser. There's a scene of it being attacked in Galaxy 1, but it's in a more destroyed state here. There's a bottomless pit that kills you caused by a crack in the ground.” - Koichi Hayashida “The setting is not connected to Galaxy 1 chronologically, it's another world. The characters that appear don't know anything about what happened in Galaxy 1. But Rosalina *does* seem to know something regarding the circumstances. I will not go into detail about such circumstances though. I would like to leave it up to the imagination of the players.” - Koichi Hayashida “Mario… long time no see… I should say… This place is another world from the one you were in… It’s a place that should be called another Galaxy. Now, the Power Stars in this world have begun to be taken away from us by someone. Please, save our friends the Power Stars. We will lend to you, the star child. May the blessings of the stardust be with you...” - Cut Rosalina dialogue Essentially, it seems only Mario and Rosalina remember the events of the first Super Mario Galaxy game, probably thanks to that blue portal thing protecting their minds. They wake up and continue their lives in the new universe from Super Mario Galaxy 2. [12:52] New Super Mario Bros. Wii is actually likely a prequel to Super Mario Galaxy. This is implied during the game’s credits, as when we hear Princess Peach reading the letter inviting Mario to the Star Festival, it’s specifically the letter she wrote in Super Mario Galaxy - not Super Mario Galaxy 2. It also seems that the only events changes after the universe’s rebirth were those within Super Mario Galaxy itself. Nothing else really seemed to change, and the Star Festival seems to already be picking up when Mario wakes up in the new universe, likely meaning Super Mario Galaxy 2 commences just a day or so (from Mario’s perspective) after the events of the first title. [13:30] The cycle continues, the universe just doesn’t always end in the same place. I assume it usually ends due to something like a heat death, which would mean Bowser’s Galaxy Reactor collapsing was a bit of a premature end, probably the exception rather than the rule. When the post-Super Mario Galaxy universe eventually ends, another cycle will probably begin, with young Rosalina meeting Luma in the Starshroom once again, etc. [14:40] Yes, the Sprixie Kingdom is on the same planet as the Mushroom Kingdom, hence Bowser being able to get there with his army. [15:13] Different Moons. Mario’s Planet has one “main” moon (Super Mario Odyssey, Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat), but also many smaller moons seen in various other games (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns). [15:20] I again assume this is mainly for the sake of the joke, but Peach is interested in Mario and calls Mario to get him to go home with her on the ship directly after declining his proposal. The only reason she declined was because Mario was acting immaturely. If he had acted differently, or Bowser hadn’t interrupted she’d probably have said yes. It’s clear a lot of work went into this video, so well done on finally getting it out! Looking forward to your future stuff!
I was surprised to see that not only does this channel have less than 100 subs and not only is this your first video, but it only *JUST* came out. I was thinking you've been doing this for years. It's not often I find a fresh content creator these days. I'm excited to watch you grow.
if you look in the backround of the 3d world opening, you can see the commit observitory, and several commits, implying the opening of the game also takes place during the star festival
I’m pretty sure the Peach lines during the credits of NSMBWii imply that Super Mario Galaxy happens immediately after that, considering her dialogue is the exact same as the letter from the beginning of that game. So basically how I see it is NSMB Wii -> Super Mario Galaxy -> Universe Resets which allows basically the exact same events to happen immediately after in Super Mario Galaxy 2
You've tricked me into thinking you've done this all your life, but I know better. Phenomenal content, and hopefully this sort of direction is something you stick with. From one nobody in the past to another, I'm proud of what you made of yourself and what you want to do from this point onward, and proud to exist in the same bloodline. Look forward to another Link Cookie if you make a Zelda video in the same vein as this, someday. And I know you just can't help yourself.
It's very cool to see this channel starting out! I hope you check out some of the other Mario spinoffs to see where they might fit into the timeline, but if you're finished with what's canon to Mario, it could be fun to see you cover the canon of sonic or kirby.
I was randomly scrolling through my recommendations when I accidentally clicked on this video. I motioned to click off, but right before I hit back, I stopped. This video immediately caught my attention with its cold open. I must say I have never been more excited about a mistake in my life. This is such a high-quality production, I cannot wait to see where you go from here. This is brilliant, I hope you get much more recognition in the future!
How does your channel have less than 1k??? This is going to be another big channel I can tell. The editing and voiceover is amazing. if you ever get famous remember the guy with the screaming bowser jr profile pic.
I love this!! the editing is well done, your voice is so cool to me and I love the tone of this video. I cannot wait for more of Canon Welding. And thinking on the top of my head on what series you can tackle next...um...How about Sonic the Hedgehog?
I was about to post a comment about how shocked i am that this doesn't have more views... then saw the comment section filled with exactly that... so oops :/ anyway this is great and i hope you keep getting more and more attention cuz you deserve it!!!!!!
I like to think that the canonicity of Super Mario Bros 3 was the Mario crew putting on an overexaggerated play for what had happened in Super Mario 3D Land.
Good video Robbie. Don't know much bout Marios canon..now I do. comedy timing was good as well mate. keep it up. If u want some ideas. He-Man canon for one, you could always do a Tolkien canon series haha, think someone can help ye there as well. Once again good video will hit ye up with a sub for further episodes
He-Man has always been in my periphery, but I've never actually watched any of it! The world design and lore are super interesting to me though so that may be in the future. As far as Tolkien, I actually went on a deep wiki dive into the differences between the Peter Jackson, Rings of Power, and original canons a few months ago. Definitely think that would be a fun extended series.
09:53 What I've always imagined is that Super Mario Land 1 & 2 take place pretty much immediately after Super Mario Bros.: As a reward for saving the kingdom, Peach gives Mario a private island which is Mario Land. Tatanga then attacks the neighbouring Sarasaland and Wario claims Mario Land while Mario is away. Also, as Super Mario 3D Land seemingly covers the origin of the Super Leaves, I'd assume it takes place before Super Mario Bros. 3 I know this video only covers the mainline games, and this is all just speculation, but I feel like when it comes to timeline, the end of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team lines up well with New Super Mario Bros. 2's abundance of coins. Following this coin rush, it might also be reason for Captain Toad going on treasure hunt in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, with the ending of that game directly leading us into the beginning of Super Mario 3D World. Great video overall. You've got some high production value here for a first video on the channel. ^^
I’m pretty positive that Subcon does actually exist as a dream world. Mario accessed it by dreaming but it did “really happen”. In Color Splash a Toad recounts having a nightmare about Wart, and Wart also appears in the dream of the Wind Fish in Link’s Awakening.
Lost levels is a Parallel Universe anyways so it's canon but not at the same time Smb2 is canon if you know the lore of mario Dreams in Mario are Universes Meaning smb2 mario entered a another Universe So at least super Mario bros 2 should at least be canon Also side games are also canon with canon games even mentioning it So if someone isn't really noncanon it would be another Universe as anything offical in Mario Is actually canon So smb2 mario pretty much entered a Parallel Universe
Interesting video, although I'd like to note some inaccuracies. For starters, Lost Levels is indeed canon. While there are parallel universes in that game, those are directed towards the special worlds, not the primary worlds 1-8. Otherwise, there's nothing saying this game never happened. As for the SMB2 USA, Subcon is indeed a dream dimension that you can physically travel to. As established in BS SMB2 USA's story (which you can find on my channel), Wart travels across different people's dreams that you must travel to. This story where dreams are real locations is actually not that uncommon in Mario, as games such as Mario Party 5 and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team touch on this. Overall, every mainline Mario game is connected. As well as (almost) every spin-off, with minor exceptions like the Phillips games.
In my opinion the Canon Timeline is: Donkey Kong Wrecking Crew Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario World Super Mario Land Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins Super Mario 64 Super Mario 64 DS (Well, I consider Mario 64 DS as a type of continuation, since the dialogue kind of shows that this game takes place after Mario 64. Like the dialogue between Koopa the Quick and King Bob-omb) Luigi's Mansion Super Mario Sunshine New Super Mario Bros. DS Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Galaxy 2 New Super Mario Bros. Wii Super Mario 3D Land New Super Mario Bros. 2 Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon New Super Mario Bros. U Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury Super Mario Odyssey Luigi's Mansion 3 Super Mario Bros. Wonder Regarding the other spin-offs, I don't think they are canonical. Of all, only Wario Land and Luigi's Mansion. Mario's RPGs could even be canonical but they were made by secondary companies, such as Intelligent Systems and Alphadream and follow a slightly different role and context from the main series, in addition to that in Super Paper Mario, the events take place in a different time, which doesn't fit well with the main series. So yeah, they're more like universes with alternative histories in my opinion. Kart, Golf and Party games are more just games for pure entertainment. I've never seen something that fits them into the main series without posing a problem in the script. They are just games for entertainment and are only there as different content. And regarding the end of Mario Galaxy, I believe that Super Luigi U fits with that parallel universe in which we control Luigi instead of Mario.
11:57 Basically, Bowser was using the power of his Grand Star to create a new galaxy, that "lava planet" (likely a star) was its core, and so when Mario defeats Bowser and releases the Grand Star, the thing collapses into a black hole. Why was the black hole that destructive is beyond me, but since Rosalina talks about the cycle of the universe and all that bullcrap, I see it as the cosmos trying to "restore" itself after Bowser essentially tried to mess up with the natural order. With that said, in what sort of mushrooms were the devs in when they cooked up such an ending, haven't seen that shit since Evangelion.
Mario watched his entire universe get destroyed and knows that everyone he knows is just a copy of the originals. The ending of Galaxy is kind of dark if you think about it way more than you're intended to.
So...what's still canon out of all of that stuff? I was hoping you'd do a breakdown conclusion at the end (like is Rosalina's origin still recognized as canon by Nintendo? What about Baby Mario/Yoshi lore?) Maybe in a future video?
SMB2 can still be canon. I always saw it as 2J (or at least a version of the events in it) being a Luigi only adventure due to how the game lacks 2 player and has Luigi playable as an option. The idea is that mario is experiencing US SMB2 during Luigi's (probably slightly different) Lost Levels experience.
how do you have less than 1k subs?? my first impression from this video was that this was a big channel but it isn't. cant wait for the next video also i wanted to say that near the end of galaxy 2, a giant green comet star showers more small green stars all throughout the universe on different planets. then at the ending of captain toad, toad discovers a green star falling down onto mario's planet and follows it, starting the events of 3d world. so i guess that Super Mario Galaxy 2, Captian Toad: Treasure Tracker and Super Mario 3D World are all interconnected.
Hey, this looks promising. Looking forward to seeing you tackle the much more ambiguous spin-offs. By the way, Sonic characters have no genitals and reproduce by currying favor with Ishtar.
Great video but I do gotta say a few things as a Mario fan. Super Mario Bros 2 is definitely canon as the prima guide for MK Wii states that Birdo is from Subcon making it an actual dimension like the one in Dream Team. Also for some reason the Super Show is on the “Not” pile at 6:45 when there’s nothing that says the dic cartoons aren’t canon as Miyamoto once stated Mario is still from Brooklyn in an interview for an SM64 guide and stated the setting of Mario Bros 83 as the Brooklyn sewers. Pretty sure everything Mario related officially made by Nintendo is canon. The new movie, cartoons, manga, heck, the 93 movie was canon at one point because his live action outfit made an appearance in the all stars manga.
While yes Super Mario Bros. 2 is canon (as is proven by its sequel, BS Super Mario USA), Prima Guides are not. The actual creators of the games have no involvement with guides like those, and they make up things all the time. Subcon is in the same Dream World from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, it’s just a different Kingdom within the same dimension. The DIC cartoons aren’t canon and never had been. Nintendo and Miyamoto had no involvement with them. The new movie, cartoons and manga are not canon either. In the games, Mario is not from Brooklyn, Miyamoto has just said he had that idea early on, but it clearly never made it into the canon games. The only Mario media that’s canon is the games published by Nintendo themselves.
Thank you for the clarification. I’ve been a fan of your Marioverse stuff for a while and I didn’t actually think I’d ever get a reply from you. I have a question though, would the statement from the Coro Coro Mario-Kun manga be valid when the Super Mario Manga mania book states that it takes place in “The many worlds of one of the biggest video game series ever”? Because I have met other fans who think that the manga and comics are canon to Mario.
@@Waffl3s264 Thank you, I’m glad you like my stuff! Super Mario-kun (CoroCoro Comic) definitely isn’t canon. Each issue tells alternate versions of the events of canon games, oftentimes intertwining elements of the stories of multiple games that were originally separate, or changing certain elements. For example, Bob-omb never dies in Super Mario-kun, while he clearly definitively dies in Paper Mario: the Origami King. It’s its own continuity, based on the original Mario World.
Saw the thumbnail, the intro, the editing, the voiceover and thought, “wow, this must be a pretty big channel”, but to my surprise it wasn’t. This is amazing work! Can’t wait to see the channel grow
That means so much! Thanks, we'll get there soon!

[12:33]
Super Luigi Galaxy doesn’t seem to be the cycle of the universe after Super Mario Galaxy, but rather an alternate universe that runs parallel to Super Mario Galaxy (so essentially non-canon). This is implied by Rosalina’s dialogue in the Japanese version of the game, in which she states:
“That number [120] represents the star power needed to enter another world.
Another world... a world where you can meet someone who isn't you.”
“Another World” here is highlighted green, implying the “someone who isn’t you” is the “Luigi” who takes Mario’s Place in the Super Luigi Galaxy Universe.
This is also supported by developer commentary from Koichi Hayashida found in the files of Super Mario Galaxy 2, as well as unused dialogue from Rosalina (Forgive potential rough translation and keep in mind these may not reflect the final game, as they’re early developer notes and cut dialogue):
“This is a parallel world of the Star Festival. (NPCs and transformations are also reused for this purpose)”
- Koichi Hayashida
“Where the world has switched, Peach’s Castle Town has been overrun by Bowser. There's a scene of it being attacked in Galaxy 1, but it's in a more destroyed state here. There's a bottomless pit that kills you caused by a crack in the ground.”
- Koichi Hayashida
“The setting is not connected to Galaxy 1 chronologically, it's another world. The characters that appear don't know anything about what happened in Galaxy 1. But Rosalina *does* seem to know something regarding the circumstances. I will not go into detail about such circumstances though. I would like to leave it up to the imagination of the players.”
- Koichi Hayashida
“Mario… long time no see… I should say… This place is another world from the one you were in… It’s a place that should be called another Galaxy. Now, the Power Stars in this world have begun to be taken away from us by someone. Please, save our friends the Power Stars. We will lend to you, the star child. May the blessings of the stardust be with you...”
- Cut Rosalina dialogue
Essentially, it seems only Mario and Rosalina remember the events of the first Super Mario Galaxy game, probably thanks to that blue portal thing protecting their minds. They wake up and continue their lives in the new universe from Super Mario Galaxy 2.
[12:52]
New Super Mario Bros.
[13:30]
The cycle continues, the universe just doesn’t always end in the same place.
[14:40]
Yes, the Sprixie Kingdom is on the same planet as the Mushroom Kingdom, hence Bowser being able to get there with his army.
[15:13]
Different Moons. Mario’s Planet has one “main” moon (Super Mario Odyssey, Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat), but also many smaller moons seen in various other games (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country Returns).
[15:20]
I again assume this is mainly for the sake of the joke, but Peach is interested in Mario and calls Mario to get him to go home with her on the ship directly after declining his proposal.
This is such a good video! From the script, editing, voiceover... Everything is awesome.
This was awesome dude you don’t know how much I wanted something like this.please keep up the amazing job!!!
Maybe The Lost Levels taking place in a different world is an example of the universe starting over?
You've tricked me into thinking you've done this all your life, but I know better.
Phenomenal content, and hopefully this sort of direction is something you stick with. From one nobody in the past to another, I'm proud of what you made of yourself and what you want to do from this point onward, and proud to exist in the same bloodline.
Look forward to another Link Cookie if you make a Zelda video in the same vein as this, someday.
And I know you just can't help yourself.
Don't worry, I've got big plans for Zelda
That intro song... nice! Good video
Also, I love that Super Mario Encyclopedia. I have that one too. Can’t wait until they update it lol
Really amazing video. I can't believe this has been in the works for years.
I hope that this series will grow into something bigger in the future. For once, just this once, I thank the algorithm for sending me this.
It's very cool to see this channel starting out! I hope you check out some of the other Mario spinoffs to see where they might fit into the timeline, but if you're finished with what's canon to Mario, it could be fun to see you cover the canon of sonic or kirby.
Maybe New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the real events to SMB3’s play.
It keeps World in the timeline too, since World happens directly after ‘SMB3’
I was randomly scrolling through my recommendations when I accidentally clicked on this video. I motioned to click off, but right before I hit back, I stopped. This video immediately caught my attention with its cold open. I must say I have never been more excited about a mistake in my life. This is such a high-quality production, I cannot wait to see where you go from here. This is brilliant, I hope you get much more recognition in the future!
hi BusterBeans
Your editing is amazing!! I hope you get more recognition!
criminally underrated channel this video should get more views
I like to think that New Soup Luigi U is in the same Luigi-only Universe as Luigi's Story in Mario Galaxy
Oh wow, this is your first video! Awesome job, man, both in attention to details and your scripting and editing, cant wait to see the next one :D
damn i'm just learning that Galaxy 2 really was just a soft reboot of Galaxy 1
I’ve had the official Mario encyclopedia since 4th grade and it’s the reason I’m a Mario nerd. I’m glad to see others using it too
How does your channel have less than 1k??? This is going to be another big channel I can tell. The editing and voiceover is amazing. if you ever get famous remember the guy with the screaming bowser jr profile pic.
In NSMBW’s credits, Peach can be heard inviting Mario to the castle to watch the comets so I’d place that just before SMG
I like to think that Super Mario 3D Land is the canon counterpart to the play.
What if Lost Levels is part of the timeline from after Galaxy 1
Everything is in a canon. A bullet bill launcher
Bro how do you have only 15 subs this content looks like someone with at least a 100K sub count would make
One day hopefully! Thanks!
Ironically neither Mario or Chris Pratt have much luck visiting and getting stranded on a island of dinosaurs...
this is a labor of love!
thank you!
I love this!! the editing is well done, your voice is so cool to me and I love the tone of this video. I cannot wait for more of Canon Welding. And thinking on the top of my head on what series you can tackle next...um...How about Sonic the Hedgehog?
Can’t wait to see you grow this video is spectacular
You deserve a million views and million subs, best of luck my friend.
16:32 Pokémon!
Yo, this is one heck of a first video!! Sometimes the algorithm does its job well. Looking forward to more :)
This is so good for a very small channel, I thought you had 800k subs 😂, you good tho!
I was about to post a comment about how shocked i am that this doesn't have more views... then saw the comment section filled with exactly that... so oops :/ anyway this is great and i hope you keep getting more and more attention cuz you deserve it!!!!!!
Good video! At the end, you should show the completed timeline.
I like to think that the canonicity of Super Mario Bros 3 was the Mario crew putting on an overexaggerated play for what had happened in Super Mario 3D Land.
It’s explicitly a real event. The whole “play” thing is just an aesthetic, a framing device.
Bowsers fury, the mario and luigi games
This intro is one of the best RUclips intros I've seen in a long time
The mega incoherence at the end! You can see it's a real phone only to be turned into a banana! BRAVO!!!
You can thank RUclips for appearing in the recommended section love the stuff and now subbed
I know this video only covers the mainline games, and this is all just speculation, but I feel like when it comes to timeline, the end of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team lines up well with New Super Mario Bros.
If lost Levels takes place in a parallel world that means the Nintendo Multiverse exists
1 minute in and i’m already thoroughly entertained, you earned a like.
Same as everyone else said the production quality of a larger channel but I anticipate you’ll get there very quick!
Thanks man! Fingers crossed
man really just spawned in the overworld
I’m pretty positive that Subcon does actually exist as a dream world. Mario accessed it by dreaming but it did “really happen”. In Color Splash a Toad recounts having a nightmare about Wart, and Wart also appears in the dream of the Wind Fish in Link’s Awakening.
Though Mario/Zelda crossovers are another kettle of fish
Lost levels is a Parallel Universe anyways so it's canon but not at the same time
Smb2 is canon if you know the lore of mario
Dreams in Mario are Universes
Meaning smb2 mario entered a another Universe
So at least super Mario bros 2 should at least be canon
Also side games are also canon with canon games even mentioning it
So if someone isn't really noncanon it would be another Universe as anything offical in Mario Is actually canon
So smb2 mario pretty much entered a Parallel Universe
Underrated channel! Keep up the good work!
In my opinion the Canon Timeline is:
Donkey Kong
Wrecking Crew
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels
Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA)
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario World
Super Mario Land
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Super Mario 64
Super Mario 64 DS (Well, I consider Mario 64 DS as a type of continuation, since the dialogue kind of shows that this game takes place after Mario 64. Like the dialogue between Koopa the Quick and King Bob-omb)
Luigi's Mansion
Super Mario Sunshine
New Super Mario Bros. DS
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Super Mario 3D Land
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
New Super Mario Bros. U
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
Super Mario Odyssey
Luigi's Mansion 3
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Regarding the other spin-offs, I don't think they are canonical.
Es la mejor respuesta hasta hora😮

Awesome video dude especially for just starting out! Would love to see more videos from you keep up the good work!
So much potential for good videos! I will definitely watch the next one.
Mario watched his entire universe get destroyed and knows that everyone he knows is just a copy of the originals. The ending of Galaxy is kind of dark if you think about it way more than you're intended to.
I'm a blonde haired, sometimes-bespectacled, white trans girl who talks about pop culture. So y'know
The algorithm blessed me with video. It was quite nice.
What do you mean this is someone’s first video??? Look at how high quality it is
dude keep this up its awesome
this was awesome!
Seriously too underrated
I can't believe how clean this video is for not being on some astroturfed big ass channel
Can you imagine super paper Mario being canon?
I just ate ribs with this dude!!
Awesome content!!
careful! don't let any of that simulacra get into your simulation
AMAZING VIDEO!!!
So...what's still canon out of all of that stuff? I was hoping you'd do a breakdown conclusion at the end (like is Rosalina's origin still recognized as canon by Nintendo? What about Baby Mario/Yoshi lore?) Maybe in a future video?
Rosalina’s origin is still clearly recognised as canon. There’s no reason it wouldn’t be, and they’ve referenced it as recently as 2020.
i lost it at ChECk tHe FIliNg CAbiNet
Great video! Would you have any interest in doing something like this for Pac-Man?
Pac-Man is on my list! The world needs to know what happened to Ms. Pac-Man!
Time to tackle Kirby Kanon
I expected funny mario video and there's already a guy thrown in the floor by side the water 0 seconds in.
Liked and subscribed, obviously.
So...What happens next!?
Lore of What's Still Canon in Super Mario Bros? | Canon Welding Episode 1 momentum 100
Great video like everyone else said. One suggestion, try putting the sun behind the camera instead of behind you when recording
detective Conan mentioned \o/
how do you have less than 1k subs?? my first impression from this video was that this was a big channel but it isn't. cant wait for the next video
also i wanted to say that near the end of galaxy 2, a giant green comet star showers more small green stars all throughout the universe on different planets. then at the ending of captain toad, toad discovers a green star falling down onto mario's planet and follows it, starting the events of 3d world. so i guess that Super Mario Galaxy 2, Captian Toad: Treasure Tracker and Super Mario 3D World are all interconnected.
Mario 2, despite being a dream, is still not canon. It's a resprite and a slap in the face.
I don't get why 3D Land isn't counted as cannon
Pretty cool man
How do you don’t have 1k!?
how does bro only have 400 subs
I’ll do you one better, who is still canon in Super Mario Bros!?
Hey, this looks promising. Looking forward to seeing you tackle the much more ambiguous spin-offs. By the way, Sonic characters have no genitals and reproduce by currying favor with Ishtar.
Of course, I must have missed that run in the Archie comics.
😂😂. It was good. REALLY GOOD. Would you consider doing Gran Turismo.
