There have been midi options for acoustic guitars for at least 20 years. It's a trademark of Godin guitars. Al Di Meola uses this a lot on his Ovations.
So is he reviewing Graph Techs Acousti-phonic and Hexpander? Or just the Hexpander? I can't seem to tell if he has both installed on that guitar or just the Hexpander midi.
Danibolical 1 The MIDI guitar software is nice but the benefit of having an actual MIDI processor on the guitar is you can use it with other things as well. I also find that tracking with the Graphtech system is way more accurate, especially when playing faster.
I've never like the sound of Acoustic Electric guitars. They are convenient but it just sounds too stringy and i like the sound of pure all natural acoustic tone and mic it.
The acoustic sound is horrible. It doesn't sound like an acoustic. It would be a lot nicer if it was installed alongside another pickup or mic system like the LR Baggs IBeam or some other decent sounding acoustic pickup. As it is, the quack just kills the tone.
As always a great demo, but too short. I want to hear Paul do more of that MIDI stuff.
Good demo Paul thank you for actually demonstrating the MIDI capability

Playing starts at 2:38 if you want to skip all the bullshit talk.
3:44-3:47 dude sounds a little like C Walken. very cool ethereal vibe at the end.
Tried to leave a comment on your last video for some reason it wouldn't let me
+Erick R cuz GooTUbe sucks. That's about all.
One of the rare times when a product they demo sounds wonderful.

@xPsuedo Of course. All acoustic guitars are primarily metal instruments.
Paul is a legend
famous sound and optik, is your guitar exists an preamp bevor you installed the graphtech system?
beautiful axe. I used to hate the sound of an electric acoustic, but they are sounding better these days
That is a sweet sound, the acoustic itself sounds good but that as a step up.... Very nice
I'm tripping and that synth was life changing with headphones
EMG needs to get on this.
4:08 is where the fun begins with the MIDI.
The synth and acoustic sound really awesome together! It'd be a great intro then, BAM!!! Super heavy guitars come in.
Is there anything like this for electric guitar?
GREAT SOUNDING ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND IT'S MIDI.
wish to had a guitar like this
and... wanna tell us how you did that synth sound?...
hi paul ,do you find the tracking much faster or more precise than a roland gk3 ?Thanks
A cutaway, and it's the perfect acoustic guitar.
finally he got to shut up and play his .. synth
Wow you’re complaining about 2 min 30 seconds of talk.

The graphtec system is top notch but its very expensive, both in hardware and installation, unless you instal it yourself
id like to see they install the system in a taylor acoustic
Absolute genius!
We already know you're from Guitar World, Paul. Just get right to it.
Audio test starts at 2:38
you are welcome
can the hight of the saddles be easily adjusted?
now that is crazy :), wonder how it would sound in a country blues fingerstyle setting??
We had this seven years ago?!?
I am also thinking the same thing
i love that guitar
whats the name of the song your playing?
Just curious, I'm new to midi guitar systems, Can this system be used with VST in a DAW like logic?
it uses the 13 pin cable to connect to a synth. If the synth passes MIDI thru then yes it can trigger a VST. some synths do and some don't.

@RageicaNiels So? Can't you just wait?
gr33 not the gr20 or gr55 hum???
@angelite143 nope. and it looks like 56 other people couldn`t either
8" saddle slot??

Is this product is SO GOOD,.... why David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson and others monsters of music don´t use this????
Tip for the future... Play first talk last
@LoULoU60500C Ya but a cutaway and the sound changes

Blah blah blah, blah blah blah. jeez , terrible demo.
@121jigawatts THIS MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL.
That has to be the most ugliest pick guard I ever seen!
I'm tripping and that synth was life changing with headphones
All that to get a "shimmer" effect on top of the guitar sound?...
