There is plenty of info. on the internet about the proper use of a mag. stick. Also the tinder bundle used with these products. Scraping the magnesium onto a piece of tape or a spot smeared with vaseline will hold it in place. Look up iawoodsman. Thanks for the video.
The Coghlan's fero rod works great with a good striker. The striker that comes with the Coghlan's rod is terrible. Try the LMF striker on the Coghlan's rod and you will see a bunch of sparks. LMF rods are harder than Coghlan's, and I like them very much, but the Coghlan's works well with a different striker. Thanks for comparing the different rods.
