- There was one German Emperor who reigned for 99 days in 1888, however his time ruling would be spend as a voiceless man crippled by horrific illness and he was in the pains of death. Frederick III was the son of the King and Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm I, and he was raised in a military manner. He was celebrated as a young man for his leadership during various European wars, but he hated warfare but he would also marry Victoria, the Princess Royal the oldest child of Queen Victoria. The couple were well matched, and they were admirers of Prince Albert Victoria’s husband. They would plan to rule as co-monarchs, but Frederick’s illness stopped him from establishing policies and himself s the German Emperor and King of Prussia. His reign was short, but his illnesses were many. But what is the story of the Horrific death of Frederick III?
This was truly horrific for the poor man.
I am sure the Victorians knew how bad smoking was to their bodies. Several descendants of Queen Victoria died because they were addicted to tobacco.
Poor Fritz…..he and Vicky loved one another so much….this is horrific 😢
It always amazes me how the fate of the world lays in such ridiculous circumstances.
And how is that different than any other time in our history, including our own?
That poor man 😢
It is a pity Frederick didn't live a lot longer. WW1 and WW2 would not t 9:31 o my mind have happened. It makes you wonder what sort of a son they made. That's another story.
The very stupid Russian Tsar basically caused WW1 by mobilising the Russian army on the German border. He was repeatedly told to remove it. When he did not war was the outcome.
I’d agree. Tragic. He should have taken the throne a lot earlier from dad when it was offered, but he was too loyal? Too set in “how it works”? Honestly, sometimes good guys DO finish last. He couldn’t have seen the old goat would live until 91. NOBODY did. nobody lived that long back then! In all fairness to him. But…it also gave his son a lot more time to get all militant, and with his gigantic ego, and his as*kissers toadying up to him? I think they tried hard with him, but it was a very militaristic world back then, all about glory and all that stupid pap, and they weren’t totally in charge of him, because they weren’t the rulers yet, and grandpa, who WAS in charge, was under Old Blood and Iron Bismarks thumb. It Would have been better to not be able to speak. He knew how to write. Idk. But WW’s most likely wouldn’t have happened imo.
Perfect video to wake up and watch as I get ready for work
so sad
What an awful thing to happen to such a kind man.
1888 - the Year of Three Eights and Three Emperors.
Light up another one! Two of my sisters were chain smokers and both died in their early sixties. One from COPD and literally smothered to death. She begged for a cigarette three hours before she died. The other lit one cigarette from another . About six months before she died, she decided to quit cold turkey. It was too late.
So! enjoy putting the nail in your coffin.
We're lucky to live in the age of modern medicine, and luckier to have access to it.
Smoking still kills a great many from cancer.
Ironic that he would die in the same year as his father and his wife Victoria, would die the same year as her mother.
Spa? Just quit smoking 🚬🙄
It seems that he was one prince that did not have the problem with hemophilia! This is a sad outcome for this man, may God bless this man! This is a sad story!
Friedrich was not a haemophiliac. His parents did not have those genes. His wife did not either.
His name was Friedrich and never Frederick. He reigned as Kaiser Friedrich III.
He is referred to as "Frederick" in English speaking countries so it is not incorrect.
Pardon my ignorance (I watch you to learn, after all), but what is a "Princess Royal?" The eldest female in line for the throne? A daughter with the same name as a ruling Queen? Thanks for the video!
Yes, the eldest daughter of a Monarch. Princess Anne is known as Princess Royal
A princess royal is the oldest daughter of a Monarch.
The title must be conferred by the Sovereign. There can be only one Princess Royal alive at any time. It is an auspicious honour.
Princess Royal is a title a Sovereign can choose to give an eldest daughter. It is not automatic.

He lost track of the mandatory times he had to snap too and salute himself. It was a horrible experience. Made him feel very bad.
Cigarettes are wonderful, eh?
i survived lung cancer and never smoked, it may not have been due to smoking, just cancer is a terrible illness so dont judge as it may have not have been due to smoking....
@@tomhirons7475 The narrative says that he was a “heavy smoker”. Cigarettes killed him.
baing a heavy smoker dosent mean you WILL get cancer, as a lung cancer survivor i can guarantee that, go you tube some non smoking cancer facts you fool.
Oberflächlice und geirrte Geschichte.
I suggest you read some real history instead of defaming Wilhelm II - your utterances revealing as they do the standard Anglo / American propaganda.
Kaiser Wilhelm is a very misunderstood and complicated man He was a good man in many ways But people ignore the right things he did
Uh it sounds like his doctor mad things worse.
German doctors wanted to operate. Such a procedure would have killed him much sooner.
