  • This video is for a subscriber of my channel. He asked about cleaning perforated leather seats and how the approach might be different. Great Question! Be sure to apply Lather Interior Cleanser to to the BRUSH, and not spray directly cleaner directly on the perforations. Afterwards, quickly vacuum or turn on the ventilated seats (if equipped) -L

Good tip, just got a car with heated and cooled seats. I think I'll run a vacuum over it afterward whether I think it needs it or not but will also put a micro fiber cloth over the opening of the vacuum attachment. I'm sure it will still have enough suction to vacuum through the micro fiber; just for a little added scratch proof protection. Thanks for your informative videos! Have a good summer:)

Using a brush, cleaner and vacuum didn't work for me on getting out little bits of food in the holes. Right or wrong, I had to use compressed air and it worked perfectly. Night and day difference. Keep up the good work and videos.

If you have a quite strong vacuum, you could always wrap a microfiber towel or cloth over the noozle to protect the seat. It will diminish the power, but most common cleaners should still be good enough to get any left over foam out of the perforations.

The majority of cars with "air conditioned" seats are actually ventilated meaning that the internal fans within the seat are actually sucking in air versus blowing out from the perforated leather. Hence the vacuum technique is most likely the best and safest way to remove excess moisture versus turning the seat's ventilation/heating system on full blast.

Powder free nitrile gloves. They come in various colours. Larry seems to like black, probably to be consistent with his branding.
I have started using gloves since I have been watching Larry's vids.
On his website he lists the items he has used in the vids, one of those item is usually powder free nitrile gloves. Have a look around for a online retailer.
If you get a good quality brand they seem to rip less and fit bretter. I hope this helps.

Wouldnt the quality of the leather matter? My 09 Escalade uses a sorry excuse for "leather" which has cracked and when cleaned, the top layer peels off and fades even more. My '14 328i and 740Li have much better quality leather and overall materials and his methods work very well with cars that use "true" leather.

Is that AMMO Lather that you're spraying into the brush? It looks a little watery. Should I be diluting the AMMO lather? Been using it straight from the black bottle (into the brush of course) with the sprayer that was included...
An Alcantara cleaning video would be amazing!
    Thanks for another great lesson!!

Totally agree with your methods on all things car-cleaning related so far, except one.......... Being a "Porsche Person" you should know that the ventilated seats in our cars don't push air out the holes like some seats do. Instead they draw in air away from the skin. So it's probably not advisable to use the seat ventilation system in these particular vehicles, because the cost of replacing those suckers is not as cheap as one might think. But I can see where you were coming from.

I bought a brand new 2023 Honda with leather seats last month. How often should I apply any cleaner or "conditioner"? Any tips? Thanks.
