In his TCM interview he doesn't skim over the dozen bad years when he had to do crummy roles and lots of Dinner theater - which is considered an actor's Hell. He actually said he ENJOYED the dinner theater years because they were almost all comedy and he loved doing comedy. He even credits the experience for helping to fine tune his comic style. He never trashed the audiences either. Class act.
@@jamesdemasi7077 what's interesting he's a man that gets to the point ( the interviewer in that TCM is a dunce she's only heard not seen .) if more parents thought like him about getting their children in movies or tv at such a young age ( he was absolutely stinking cute ) Ms spears wouldn't have mental issues the suicide or overdose rate would possibly drop .I've enjoyed seeing him on tv and movies ( married to the mob is possibly my fave , he says his part in blue velvet is the most sane part and I absolutely love in dreams because of his performance ) .he even speaks of being " black balled " or felt like he was black balled because he got tired of not being able to be a kid and that he didn't really have a choice n being an actor that it wasn't til the dinner theatre performances and getting some acting jobs ( he had a " normal " job a real estate agent ) when he started getting acting gigs but he was at an age where he could appreciate his talent .
adore him since I was a teenager watched quantum leap he is such a humble soft spoken yet honest man .stinking cute as a child and handsome man that could act 😍.
Whenever I saw the Dean Stockwell name on a movie I would HAVE to see it. For me he just had that something, and I don't know what it is, but most probably his acting whether it was the movies or TV I just enjoyed his performances.
There are so many great Dean Stockwell performances that come to mind, some of which he is not that well known for. Alfred Hitchcocks's "Anabel" and an ABC Movie of the Week titled "The Paper Man" come to mind. The Paper Man dealt with the idea of computer identity theft 35 years before it was a thing. Dean Stockwell brings so much to each role he plays.
Oh man! I was 12 years old in 1988 whenever “Married to the Mob” was in theaters. I had such a huge crush on this 52 year old actor. lol But it was awesome because through being his fan, I learned a lot about the history of America Cinema. He really did it all. A real example of a lifelong working actor.
Heike, this is tremendous. I certainly hope Dean got to see it having been made a few years ago. The music is beautiful, and I love the various effects you used between picture changes. Really excellent, classy tribute and much appreciated.
Richard Fraser: It was released just 3 years after WW2 ended. It was carefully crafted so as to not alienate the American audience. We were just starting to pick up Europe but the House Unamerican Activities Commission made sure none of the writer, directors, producers would work again. It was told as an allegory.
