@ProfessionalGun66 - thanks sooo much for uploading these. Gives me (and many others) a lot of pleasure and relaxation in these very stressful times. 😊❤
The Phyliss/Percy saga is really kicking into high gear now! Adding Emily into the mix makes it even funnier, given the different personalities of the characters. 7:00 that whole scene in the corner shop was beautifully choreographed, and the clincher outside on the Street, one of what will be many of Percy's 'last words on the subject' - "She ought to behind a locked door and under sedation." Love it.
@@bsaunders5271 She had him for years. Emily could have been patient, for England. And, in all those years, you would've thought he was trying to be the greatest pain in the arse, he could possibly be. But no, he was just being himself.
She was a bit of a Ken fangirl, always tended to take his side in any dispute. Maybe she felt more in tune with him due to them being the more intellectual or genteel residents of the street, a cut above certain others. I just found Ken smug and tedious.
June 1988: and the beginning of Alan Bradley's affair with the awful Mrs. Burns. What he saw in her, I really don't know, except that she was available, and had a bigger, grander house than Rita. Richer pickings on offer? It's pretty obvious to put herself on a plate for him, and he took it, but I found her a thoroughly dislikeable character. On the plus side, she was the catalyst for his downfall.
Deidre needs to take a break, a long one since she's married to Ken, she's getting forgetful. She brought down a basket of clothes to wash, put the powder in the washing machine, and turned it on, but had left the dirty clothes on top of the machine. She should have chosen Mike over Ken. She would have had all the drudgery taken out of her life, no dishwashing and ironing shirts, etc. Poor Deidre, she didn't know then or again a couple of decades later.
Years ago I was working in a bakery and was on a day off and had seen the manager from the bakery who had asked me could I fill in for them in the middle of the street? I didn't fill in for them though and that bakery went bust in 2008 and I was glad that I wasn't there anymore when that happened!
@@alexanderjones9572 The last function to be held in the Select was Alf & Audrey Roberts's wedding reception in December 1985. Following the fire in June 1986, the Rovers "knocked" the Select, Snug and Public into one main bar (and lets face it, the 3 bars never fitted in with the original Rovers layout).
@@NICKROBERTS23 Hmm, I seem to remember seeing the snug in last months episodes when Alec and Alan are seen in there from a distance talking about security systems?
@@frazzleface753 Well given the Snug disappeared after the June 1986 fire, I don't think this can be true. Maybe Mr's Gilroy & Bradley were just sat in the bar area where the Snug used to be?
Martin absolutely deserves a medal for putting up with Alan. I couldn't tolerate working for him and would have walked out after a very short time of being on the receiving end of his unpleasantness. Most of the time that Alan picks on him it is not even for any good reason. It is almost as if he is still harbouring a grudge over the things that happened between Martin and Jenny, which should by now be long forgotten.
Don Brennan(Geoff Hinscliff) and Ivy Tilsley(Lynne Perrie) wedding episode. Don and Ivy get married. And Don moves into Number 5 Coronation Street as a permanent basis until Don's kind loving attitude towards wife Ivy changes. Plus it's not for too long until Alan Bradley(Mark Eden)'s kind loving nature changes to violent abuse of Rita Fairclough(Barbara Knox). And to other people on the Street. Emily Bishop doesn't know that Percy Sugden's new house won't be ready for two months at least not two weeks. Which means Poor Emily has Percy for her lodger and boarder until July 1988 when his new house will be ready. Deirdre's right. Someone needs to let Emily know that Percy is stopping at hers until July which is two months away not two weeks from when he moved in with Emily Bishop. Norman "Curly" Watts(Kevin Kennedy) just moved out of Emily's and in with current girlfriend Shirley Armitage. So I don't know how Deirdre will break the news of Percy stopping at Emily's for two months to poor Emily who never turned a soul away in time of need. Because that's Emily Bishop(Eileen Derbyshire)'s good kind nature. She's everyone on the Street's friend. And with Percy Sugden living in Emily's house Emily will never get the quietness she wanted and needed before noisy nosey Percy Sugden moved in with her as her lodger/boarder and I really do hope Percy pays his way as in board/rent and expenses towards power and food and for the room and not live in Emily's house free of charge because only relatives of Emily's like her nephew Geoffrey"Spider"Nugent(Martin Hancock) turns up.
Percy is a right nosey git. He is right about Mike not driving, but still, his nose is in everything. He would drive you right up the wall. Mike played a blinder!
Yes, but Norris was more of an old woman, whereas Percy was more of an old sergeant major who couldn't leave the army life behind. Percy's behaviour once installed at no. 3 - where he was a guest - was unforgivable: immediately into everything, including going through 'personal' items in the ironing basket and telling Emily what groceries she should be buying! Eventually she had to consider moving house just to be free of him. I'd have gone insane or committed a murder! Possibly both.
Love the use of "bloody" in the old days, before the internet made sensationalist headlines of it to get clicks and cause trouble. Realistic has long gone
You would have thought that Percy (along with the others) would have known better. It was so obvious that Mike was not going to drive while banned and then advertise the fact in front of known enemies. After all, although Mike can be many things, he is no fool. The last thing he would do is brag about breaking the law in the pub of all places where there is a whole list of potential people who could (and probably would) report him.
I’ve said before…but Liz Dawn was lucky to get Corrie, as she’s a terrible actor, more slapstick !! That voice and she walks like a trucker ….🤷🏼♂️….just sayin …😳
Oh man imagine if Jerry was still around and hooked up with Jason's mother? Both of them with that annoying 'r' in their speech. She actually reminds me of Janice too.
Not a good idea to watch this episode as Vera is beating up her husband as poor Johnny Depp is fighting for his name in court against his ex wife who beat him up .

It's great escapism to a time less stressful than today's world.
At 43:00 Percy to Phyllis, “Can’t you find some other pub to haunt?” 🤣🤣🤣
Mike made me laugh 😂 “king of the nosey Parker’s” referring to Percy…..
Hilarious 😐
Loving Ivy's Hen do - so many iconic Corrie women in one scene! Makes me wish i was there 😂

When Bet turned up at Ivy’s hen night and commented no one was crying “Not even you, Mavis?”, I thought what if Minnie Caldwell was still there?
Wayne looks like a 55 year old teenager..lol..
Thank you!
Dude in Jack’s ‘stolen’ suit was previously cast as potential buyer for Stan and Hilda’s house a few years back.
Dear Mr professional gun 66...did you work on the coronation street set? I was wondering 😔 👍
I’m enjoying the Percy/ Emily storyline, Percy was a real gem , much needed after a lot of the strong characters left
Must be one of the few streets in the world where every resident has, at some time or another, been in every other house in the street.

Vera and Jack are really making me laugh, despite my sadness at the loss of Hilda. Vera, when she's not being spiteful, is really great fun to watch.
I dunno she's not that good imo bit uptight and a little full of herself though not as bad as Audrey and Sally

I think it was replaced after the fire, when the whole pub was revamped.
