    To make the best oil down you must use the yellow breadfruit and not the white one The yellow one is creamy I love oil down

    • @blessedhighlyfavored5309

      I don’t know how to choose breadfruit. How would I know which breadfruit is yellow?

    • @judysammy6486
      @judysammy6486 3 года назад +8

      The white one is long and the yellow one is round and it is light yellow as long as you see the white milk stain on it you know it's full I hope this helps the white one does really hard and does not cook well that's why you have to use the yellow one

      If I see breadfruit at the supermarket in Maryland I grab it.... does not matter white or yellow. Beggars can’t be choosers. Lol.

      You're so right. Using the yellow one now and it looks like golden vanilla ice cream. I think I must've let it ripen a bit too much because it's kind of soft but I'm using it still. First time making oil down so I'll see how it goes

    To all Grenadians, this is a Trini version of Oildown so it will be completely different from yours. It's like callaloo from Jamaica which is different from Trini callaloo. Mind you callaloo is our national dish. There's no who made it better. The ladies acknowledged that Oildown is a national dish in Grenada, they made their own version, Trini version that is and let's leave it at that. It's not that serious!!
