As a white woman living in Hawaii for 35 years I love the powders as a touch up. Why? You ask, because they are perfect for storing in the car (liquid ones get weird from car heat here) and I can put it on while driving and it’s good for all skin tones. Also, my son cleans pools for a living and is outside constantly. He puts on liquid spf in the morning and is willing to use the powder between pool visits. His cleaning partners were so curious about the powders since he never gets burned. Now they use it too. Like they say, the best sunscreen is the one you use. 😊
Love this! I’m from Hawaii as well and I noticed sunscreen sticks have been an absolute lifesaver for me! I tend to buy the matte-finish ones and they’re absolutely perfect for reapplication throughout the day!
I hear you! I bought a UV umbrella recently and I love it. People do give me looks at times but same happens when I'm wearing a hat and Hollywood-style glasses. I prefer the coolness of the umbrella. AND it protects my neck, scalp and upper body.
Works great if you have three hands! Because if you’re gardening or playing sports, you need both hands and an umbrella just won’t work. And what do you do if you’re in a crowd of people with umbrellas? How do y’all keep from running into each other? Say at a zoo where everyone’s crowded around an exhibit because finally the animal is active? 😂. I’ll stick with my hat!
Here in Australia we have been advised not to use aerosol sunscreens as a substantial amount of the product is lost with the spraying action and you get very little coverage. I no longer use it for that reason.
I have Melasma and thought for the last year that a baseball cap would suffice, but this year I decided to use a wide brimmed hat on my walks and the pigment around my eyes is lightening so much!
Loved this video! My sister and I have the Bluestone visors, I have the short one, while she has the full (she never wears SPF, even though I get her all the good ones!). Anyway, we were at lunch and her full visor was on a chair and a couple kept looking over. Finally, the man asked what it was! My sister said to protect her face from the sun…I added more details and where they could find them. I’m done GAF what people think and my skin is much better for it! I’m a IDGAF Skin Nerd! Also, over the last 5 years, I’ve built up a beautiful collection of UPF tunics, jackets, gloves, and hats. I wear them all year. I live near the beach & water, but only go for walks in off season and avoid summer sun as much as possible. I laughed at the hand fan because in grade school teachers used to yell at us kids fanning ourselves when it was so hot in the classroom. They said exactly what you said. I think part of our MO was to also annoy our teachers. LOL We were little rebels. Happy kickoff to Summer! (I know it’s not capitalized, but it should be!) ♥️😎 And YES…I’d love for you to create a visor, any color!
@@mirandaxnn That’s great to hear! Keep up the good work! I absolutely LOVE Coolibar! I’ve paid full price on many items, but they have great sales & clearances too. I think my first tunic was black & white…it’s still looking great after washing (I do air dry my pieces) the last 5 years.
I'm so glad I found you! I've been using your products for about a month and my face is becoming flawless. I'm 47, and my husband was tripping out one day and said wow your face looks really young. Lol. You're products are amazing!!!❤
Dr. Idriss your videos have encouraged & helped me to completely transform my skincare routine & take control of my skin concerns. The knowledge you share on this channel is SO valuable!! Thank you for taking the time to inform & INSPIRE!
I was just browsing power spfs on Amazon while watching this vid. There are a lot of brands of powder spf that are much cheaper than the ones you listed. They are SPF 50. Now I don’t know how much actual protection you get with these affordable brands but it’s worth a try. The prices ranged from $8-$20. It’s worth a shot in my book! Just wanted to point this out to those who want to extra protection but on a budget. I never bought powder spf due to how expensive it typically is. Hopefully these small brands will save us!
YES for the sun visors!!! but PLEASE make it black, as a fellow goth who tries to stay as pale as as possible i would appreciate a sun visor that doesn't clash with my outfit. besides i think many people would like the black visor since it would be easier to style for non-goth people too. either way I'm sure you will come up with an amazing product. much love🖤
I highly recommend using kerasal for rough feet! I put it on at night and cover my feet with some old socks. If I have bad calluses from running, when I use it for just a few days straight, my feet are baby soft. Also, nail salons will use cuticle remover for calluses when they scrub your feet during a pedicure. So for a more instant effect compared to using kerasal, you can put cuticle remover on your feet for about a minute then scrub off the gunk.
Tip for face tanning with self tanner on Melasma: avoid all patches using a brush and place everywhere else. It actually balances the skin a bit 😊 Looks crazy when you apply it, but this works!
I love your videos. I am currently pregnant and don’t really know what products I can use, I would love to see a video on skin care during pregnancy. Thank you!
Every Saturday I’m excited to play your videos !!! We live in Florida and it gets really hard to deal with so much exposure! Love this hacks and THANK YOU for being there educating us!! Btw: yes Dr Idris Visor 💜
@@EdensEarth oh yeah ! I feel you! And I’m so sensitive with my eyes, only mineral sunscreen works for me. Have to put one in every purse, car, counter in the house and reapply 🥵 have you find any brand you like already?
I'm a sunscreen warrior! For the Littles, we got wide flattish makeup brushes for sunscreen application. We got ones with mermaid fins at the end of the handles, so they have to "come see the mermaid."
Hiiii Can you please do a video about what actives should bot be layered with each other. There’s a lot of ingredients and a lot of misinformation about what can be used with what. Vit c, niacinamide, azaleic, aha, bha, retinoids, snail mucin, q10, peptides… Thank you for all the knowledge you are sharing!!
Could you do a video on how to get rid of hyperpigmentation caused by eczema on your body? I had eczema on my armpits and it left these dark patches even though the eczema is gone now. I don't want to use harsh ingredients to lighten up my skin because I don't want to potentially irritate the skin and get the eczema back.
Get ready Dr Idriss! When you are in Singapore is the most humid country you have ever been to! 😅 can you do a video on what products to use in SG after you are here and experienced the weather please 🙏
I always use Invity skincare products when I travel to humid countries. And I found out this skincare brand is based in Singapore, so I trust their formulations.
Thank you so much for all the information you provided! I’m a city bus driver so I’m out in the sun/weather all day, I’m grateful for the discount code for the Lux full mask, I just ordered one and can hardly wait!!! In the meantime I’m lathering on sunscreen 3-4 times a day (I work 10+hrs) and there’s not much I can do to keep it out of my eyes, ugh 😣
I wear the bluestone sun shield everyday. I work outside 8 hours a day. I also wear upf sleeves, upf fingerless gloves, and a upf neck gator. Do I need to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours?
I have eczema and I can't wait to see if the neck fan and mist will do me some good on the rare occasions I'm outside in the summer. Thank you so much for everything on your channel. Your time and effort are very much appreciated. I'm slowly developing a skincare routine based on your advice, and so far, everything's working great. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
For selftanning: use tan luxe mixed into the moisturizer or body cream you love. So much less irritation! And for the sunspots: i use a cotton swabs to remove the tanner from the place where I have sunspots or around my mouth or the skin of my eyebrows. Works like a charm!
I'd love to have your opinion on insect repellants. I use a product with deet on my legs & arms when I garden but I can't stand it around my face/neck/decolletage. A lot of people swear by Avon's Skin So Soft, but again, that's no good for my face/scalp. There are a few out there with eucalyptus oil & other botanicals that I've tried, but to be perfectly honest the only thing I hate more than bug spray is bug bites. When we eat outdoors, I like to put a pretty strong fan nearby and that sort of blows them off course. I figured out last summer, that if I do get a bite I can put a quick shot of Solarcaine or Bactine with lidocaine on it and by the time it wears off, the itch is gone so I don't scratch myself completely to pieces. I've got a lot of landscaping work to do in the next couple of weeks and this is the only aspect of it that I really hate.
You aren't that pale Dr. Idriss!Nars Chantilly is a yellow version of my skin tone. Idun's lightest color is my foundation. I just got the visor because I live in S FL and want to protect my face when working outside and trying to save my scorched plants. Purple would be an awesome option.
Hi! Great tip! Is there a difference between UV Visors and a wide SPF hat? Like the ones that have fabric on the sides, the back and on top of the head?
I’m a melanoma survivor and usually only go out to doctors’ appointments so I use the Colorscience powder to reapply when I’m out during the day. I don’t go to the beach anymore but if I have to be outside very much I wear a hat and upf clothes in addition to sunscreen. Melanoma sucks!!
Is it useful to use products to protect your hair from the sun? I Usually wear a hat or a scarf, however in some situations that is incovinient and I was wondering if there are spf hairproducts that actually work. Thank you dr Idriss for all your practical information.❤

Here in asia, it's pretty normal to use uv block umbrellas (aside from wearing spf). It is way better than hats or visors.
I wish it was normal in America. I'm just getting comfortable wearing my big floppy upf sun hat some places in public.
I hear you! I bought a UV umbrella recently and I love it. People do give me looks at times but same happens when I'm wearing a hat and Hollywood-style glasses. I prefer the coolness of the umbrella. AND it protects my neck, scalp and upper body.

Please provide affordable options if we are using 1 can a day
Please make a video about serums and what use do you think they might have?
depends on the skin concern you are targeting. i have uneven skin texture so i find using an exfoliating serum really works. i got mine from Invity and it really smoothed out my skin texture after using it every night for a few months.
