I don't normally comment, but I thought I'd respond to your question about mixing landscape and wildlife in the same video. For me, I love when you do that. Like you, I'm interested in a lot of different types of photography, so it's great. Another REALLY important point. Please keep being a real person on your channel. I absolutely love seeing you with a little indecision, or making a mistake here and there, or "settling" for a handheld shot, and for caring mostly about what *you* like in a photo. That's a big reason why I watch every one of your videos. You're sharing your techniques and processes, yes, but also you're sharing yourself. Many channels miss that human element which is so important.
I have been a subscriber for only a few months to your channel. Have been to Scotland half a dozen times since 2013. I have seen that castle and have photographed Puffins near where I think you were at over there last year. I do both forms of photography that you showed in this video and I like the mix. Either way I would prefer to be travelling than being cold where I live in the Southern Hemisphere.
Both subjects is fine Brent considering the landscape is the wildlifes natural home it's the perfect combination to me. Brilliant video and perfect music to accompany it.Glad the weather played ball for you this year too.
Just WOOOW! I fully understand that you can't decide what to photograph 😅 Scotland is amazing....mix of both is just fine! Have a good time in Scotland and thanks for sharing it with us!
Glad you enjoyed your Scotland trip and that the weather was kind to you and Camera Lady. Wish her well for me. You have gone to ‘Gods own country’ and made it look even more stunning 👏👏 Great video as always. Phil AKA keepclickingphotography
Wow. Brent, I really enjoyed this video a lot. Scottland looks like an amazing place... Really need to save up and attend one of your workshops.. Thanks for the videos and the inspiration.
Happy with a mix; happy with them separate. Your content is great either way, and I enjoy both. Scotland looked great. No mention of midges? Thanks for a great blog. Hope camera lady is feeling better soon.
Nice mix, the nine days we were there in late April early May, we had one day with rain and fog. Not much sun, but that was OK, too. Already feeling the urge to go back, but need to wait.
Beautiful part of the world I’m staying here at Toadhall on a yoga and mindfulness! I know Angela! I’m going to film some videos out here and take some photos!
I love all nature photography and I feel the inner struggle to decide between landscape and wildlife. Should I bring my landscape lenses or my 600mm…. Mixing it up in a video sounds great to me!
It was weird for me to be in your local area too, especially with all that sunshine! 😅😜😁 Can't wait to get back again already though, you live in an awesome place.
I like a mix of both wildlife and landscape. BTW, your image stabilizer is on with the camera on the tripod (min 5:18). I'm not being critical. I've made that mistake so many times that I now have a yellow sticky inside my flippy screen that reminds me to check it. It says simply, "STAB?" I know there are a lot of people that say they can't tell the difference, but I can.
If you're concentrating on just landscape or just wildlife, you're bound to miss something from the other category. But of course if you're doing both, you need more lenses in tow...
i just picked up r6m2 as my first camera ..i have the 24-105 f4 and 85 macro lens.. i have a lot of experience in photoshop but never had a camera..iam watching your channel pretty regulary and iam good with wildlife and landscape in the same episode..this satting also begs for astro or not? like landscape astro..pls do that including editing for every part..i know iam asking a lot but hey thats like 3 videos in there :D

Absolutely! When you add the landscape photos with the wildlife photos, you get a better sense of the environment in which they live.
Showing landscape and birds in the same video? Fine with me!

A mix of landscape and wildlife suits me fine, it's how I shoot most days!
Mix is fine - whatever comes along naturally

Beautiful scenes 👍
Great to see you had good weather for your trip to Scotland. Its been very wet this spring, hence the lush green you saw. Haste ye back 🏴
It was definitely a real treat to have that weather, and I'm already looking forward to next time!
Mix of landscape and wildlife.
Wow. Brent, I really enjoyed this video a lot. Scottland looks like an amazing place... Really need to save up and attend one of your workshops.. Thanks for the videos and the inspiration.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Scotland is just incredible, for sure.
@@BrentHall All I need to do is find a rich spouse to pay for all the workshops and trips I want to see.. :)
@youritguy1 there's one out there somewhere, don't give up hope!
@@BrentHall I never give up hope. Really enjoy watching videos from photographers like you.
Love both together, and i love the editing in this video and the music. Beautiful
Thank you so much!
@BrentHall You're welcome, and love Camera Lady's filming of the flower after and going around it, nice
@lorilopez6806 thanks, but that video was all me. Camera Lady was dead to the world, sleeping when I filmed it. 🤪
@BrentHall OH, well you did great 😊 Loved it

Thanks, I appreciate that! There were zero midges. That's why I like the east coast during the summer 😁
I love your landscapes..you see wee things that I don't eg the flower in the landscape. Just you fo whatever makes you happy....
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!
@@BrentHall you are one of the best online
Love the shot of the foxglove.
Many thanks!

Oh that's awesome, Angie is an amazing human, and yeah that area is just incredible! I already can't wait to get back there next year.
I love all nature photography and I feel the inner struggle to decide between landscape and wildlife. Should I bring my landscape lenses or my 600mm…. Mixing it up in a video sounds great to me!
Great video, so strange to see my local area on your video
It was weird for me to be in your local area too, especially with all that sunshine! 😅😜😁 Can't wait to get back again already though, you live in an awesome place.
Awe inspiring 👏 hope the weather keeps behaving and midgies stay away 😊
It really was crazy, 70s and sunny the entire time. No midges either, but that's why I like the east coast in the summer.
The flower is a Foxglove - it contains digitalis a heart drug :)
I like a mix of both wildlife and landscape.

P. S. The link on your website to your northern NM fall colors workshop may be broken.
Oh, thanks for the heads up! It's fixed now.
If you're concentrating on just landscape or just wildlife, you're bound to miss something from the other category. But of course if you're doing both, you need more lenses in tow...
Definitely true, but in my defense, I often shoot landscapes with long lenses too. 😜😁

You're 1000s of miles away from home - shoot what makes you happy :)
Will you being going to Island of Skye?
Negative, just the east coast.
Mixing wildlife and landscape genres is a-ok, by me.
Which camera is that Brent?
It's the R5
Mixed video. Bring it on. Landscape, critters, macro. Oops, no macro from you.
I actually love macro, but it's never done very well on my channel.
@@BrentHall macro is the best. Nice superfine detail of nature. A bugs butt. Jk. Maybe.
Mix it up
If there's a worthy creature or landscape composition, take the photo otherwise you will regret it, and so will we.
