Had the 114060. Loved it. Only sold it because the Daytona hove into my life. Will I buy another Sub? No. Am I delighted to have owned one for four years? Absolutely.
The maxi case was a low point for Rolex. The new one is a better shape but really, the best shape was the 5-digit references. That's why I prefer the Ginault Ocean Rover II to the modern Rolexes. It has the more compact 5-digit reference case (14060) but with the modern trimmings of glide-lock and ceramic. Couldn't care less about the Rolex brand or the nonsense that that goes with it.
Real question is 114060 no date vs 116610. For me, the 12 series is a series of bad decisions. I know most people disagree, but other than the anti reflective coating, I think it’s just poor decision-making starting with the bracelet.
Rolex should have realised that the 114060 was a mistake and gone back to the 14060 case but keep glidelock and ceramic, plus maxi dial, but instead they improved some things and made other things worse with the 12x series.

Correct. I’ve owned both 40 and 41 and went back to 40.
@@TwentyOne_Five date or no date?
@@ViolinistWilliam I prefer the 116610. My 41mm was a 124060 and the dial was too clean and symmetrical after all my yrs with a date Sub.

@@thegorn agreed. I mean, I really love my 114060. My problem is I want to keep it and add a sub date as well because I’m insane.
You should first try wearing the watch properly and not so high up on your hand 😂
