You made a really good point about when you find something that is 'kinda close' to what you want , you get it anyway but then keep looking for the thing you actually want. Then you end up with a closet full of almost-dupes if you don't get rid of the 'close but not quite right' things. I've definitely done that. The green linen shirt was a great find even if it's not for this season. I always pick up linen shirts when I find them because they are just so nice in summer and they are quality and timeless.

Seems your best bet to get "exactly" what you're looking for without breaking the bank would be to look into fast fashion outlets...H&M, Forever 21, SheIn and such. Thrifting isn't like the mall with "in season" trends that you can grab and readily replicate as you would like. Hence, if that's how people go thrifting, it'll be more of a chore than fun or unpredictable.

Honestly, that white dress would make such an amazing top. Like a corset style with puffy sleeves, which suites your styles so much! I think you'd get a lot more wear out if it if it were a top. I'm searching for a black ribbed skirt with a slit, black jeans (but I mostly do online thrifting as the few thrift stores around me never have nice jeans, so it's going to be tricky), a longer winterjacket and like 1 or 2 nicer jumpers. Just thrifted myself a fuzzy overjacket type of thing and it's the best things ever for colder days.
I've had a chocolatey-brown t-shirt on my thrift list for sooooo long! I think it would be perfect to go with my fun patterned pants. I have the same struggle that you had in this video, never finding those staples on my list!
My wishlist was to buy any single piece of Clothing ( that I like of course). I went to the recycle center today and bought not one but two! Seems like nothing but because of my OCD, I haven been able to buy used clothes so I’m kind of proud of myself. 😊
