There were singers with better voices than Debbie but I get such a warm surge of affection when I watch her perform this song and it always brings a smile to my lips and the hint of a tear to my eye. God bless her, she was a great star and is much missed.

As a child I remember hearing it sung at a dinner club, and it bringing tears to my eyes. One of the most simple and beautiful melodies ever written. Through the years, on those rare occasions when I heard it, it would trigger that memory and the tears. We even named our first family dog, Tammy. Your accompaniment was perfect.
