The pov of your faces with the GoPros at the end was f’ing hilarious 😂😂😂
those angles were so goofy and hilarious. I need more of that @seekdiscomfort
it made me laugh SO hard!
Right lol
love how they transition between their faces at the end lmao
the drinking part too xD
You guys changed my life. I graduated yesterday. Just before that, my class went to the beach. It was 10 pm and the water was freezing, fog everywhere. My friends wouldn’t go in with me. I wanted to go so I went in. Minutes later, there were almost 50 kids in from different schools who followed me because they saw me swimming. One of my favorite nights of all time. I hope I can find myself in college. Seek discomfort.
That's an awesome story 🥰
That's the spirit! Continue doing what you want to do, despite having support or not, and those who are on your level will find you and join you in all your endeavors. Awesome story. Keep it up!
College is a place to completely rewrite yourself, but is seems like you're already doing that. So keep on writing, enjoy the adventure, and run head on into the most uncomfortable experiences ... because then others will be able to find comfort when they do it too :) I hope you're enjoying your first months
Just graduated college yesterday! Trust me you won't regret it.
Welcome to leadership! It has many many many downs, but every now and then you get lucky enough for an up JUST like that one
The ending hit me hard honestly, after 2 years I still haven't went to a single party, dont really even talk to anyone in university.. Thank you for a nice video and good reminder that what this college/university time is all about..
I mean my whole university experience was ruined by covid and the worst economic crisis to ever hit my country. Still barely saw the campus and everyone is either broke or rich no in between now so nope not enjoying it, there's no fun to balance the stress.
i went my 4 years pretty much the same. Never did party's but i did find just a few people to talk to. Thats the main thing though. Breaking out of your shell. Just say "Hey", you'd be surprised how many others are just like you. They are having the same experience & you coming up to them will make their days. Be the change you want to see. Help improve others life via interactions.
At least you know you're doing your best at the part that matters though❤️🔥
@@Snakebite420 Well said
Use your last year wisely! Watching this video made me realise how much of a recluse I became at uni, I would spend so many hours in the library alone 😅😢
Creating a video for your funeral is an idea my dad had and made into a company!
It’s called MyStory, The Story Telling Place. The idea is that you are interviewed and tell your story firsthand, so important details wouldn’t get lost for future generations, and the video of “your story” would play at your funeral.
My dad made a video himself and it played at his funeral, it was beautiful ❤️
Brilliant
@@EricTabach You are also brilliant actor Eric 😅
Is there a website?
Do you have tik tok or a website ??
I thought it was a legit good idea when he said it!
The serious conversation with the GoPros at the end had me on the floor laughing. You two are so funny together.
They are having a deep convo but the pov is killing me 😂😂😂😂
Pro tip: if you’re already in college and somewhat close to graduating, don’t drop out. Finish your degree while working towards your goal. That way, you still have a college degree at the end of the day, in case the goal doesn’t work out as expected. It gives you options.
I can't take the deep conversation at the end seriously with that camera angle, it's too funny
I spent a summer in Cape Cod and we spent the last few days in Boston. On our last day we went to Harvard in the morning. We sat on the grass and the place was hopping as it was the first week back after summer. A young guy came up to us and introduced himself to me and my friends and we had a great chat with him. He then Revealed he suffered from crippling nerves and anxiety and was so happy he had met some people on his first day in college and hoped we could become friends. I didn't have the heart to tell him we were on an evening flight out of Boston to Dublin. So what we did then was we literally went from group to group of freshers over the next few hours mingling and getting this guy a new set of friends. Would you believe it Worked!!! (his name was Phillip)
@@qwertboo399 You must know a lot of Irish people!! J1 working visas. Around 40,000 Irish go every summer
wohoooooooo i hope to get nyc ppl like u in my freshman year
this is such a sweet story. very happy to hear it
Honestly: if you’re close to finishing college don’t drop out. You can try the crazy thing afterwards but then you have some kind of base to fall back to in case your first attempt fails.
Wrong
@@IwonderWHy03 yeah but if the plan was to drop out in the end and go adventure, might as well try the finals. Even if it’s half assed and you barely pass, now you have a backup. And if you don’t pass you don’t lose anything because you were gonna drop anyways. At least you took full advantage of the fees you already paid
I’m a college dropout. While I miss the learning I don’t miss the pressure at all. And I’m still okay with my decision. Now I know I can learn anything if I just buy my own books and study on my own.
This is something I wish more people thought about. You can learn anything throughout your life at your own pace by using the internet and any workbooks or nonfiction books. You can become great at so many things without the pressure that schools puts on you. Idk that pressure is kinda horrifying tbh idk how it’s legal to mentally and physically pressure kids in that way
@@julialomotey knowledge is free, certification is not.
@@julialomotey I feel like this doesn't really apply to becoming a doctor tho
@@Clone-up2ge I agree, also doesn't apply to true scientific, academic learning. You'll need access to a university library, lectures from real professors etc for that.
I am from South Africa, been attending University of Cape Town, the best in Africa probably among the best in the world, took a six month break before my last exams enjoy studying on my own and at my own pace without pressure
I have a degree, although I don't work in the field. I really appreciated how you mentioned the privilege of going to school, because a lot of things need to go your way in order to attend university.
I've been out of school for 10 years now and I have forgotten a tonne of the things that I was taught. But many of the friendships that I made are still intact. I think university teaches you how to teach yourself. You learn skills and techniques for being a life long learner, even if you forget the facts. You don't NEED to go to uni in order to be successful. It's just another one of those life experiences.
Same here. I have a good degree since 8 years back, but I've never worked in that field. However, I sadly didn't make any close friends at the university. But I fully agree with you about developing the skills for lifelong learning.
Something I'd like to add is that finding the right college for you is equally as important as the decision of going or not going.
I graduated last year with a degree in a field that I hate and with not many new friends that stuck around through to the end. I followed my friends and a girl to the school I went to and it was not at all the environment I needed to grow. Wrong city for my music career, wrong list of programs for me to choose from, wrong community of people for me to connect with, etc, etc.
I went with a full ride and ended up resenting my choices so much that I started not caring and lost my scholarships. Now I'm in debt for a degree that has yet to help me get a job over a year later and in a career field that I despise anyways.
DO NOT take the most comfortable route with college. It will waste your money and stunt your growth.
At least the relationships that I already had when going into college grew into definite lifelong friendships. In the end, there's a reason for everything that happens. A year after graduating I was still in the area and met the love of my life there. I now know that to be the reason I made all those decisions years ago.
❤️💙
How to summon the Brazilians...play a bit of their epic anthem at 0:26. Ahmed's story really hit me. Just hearing that his house was bombed, shows the dark reality of what it means to be in a warzone, and it makes us thankful enough to not be in one. While I'm glad Ahmed has a much better life in the US thanks to the UN refugee program, I also feel bad for what the US has done to his country. Thank you for showing his story with the rest of us.
College isn't for everyone, but for those who choose to continue, it can certainly be a lifechanging experience. As shown with the partying...and the POV (which was the chef's kiss lol).
I can’t take u guys seriously with the go pros like that, that had me dying🤣
U guys looked like syd from ice age
One thing I love about the group is they always leave someplace just amazed and feeling the need to say “wow, that was amazing” despite the countless things they get to experience that some if not most people can’t experience. Extremely humble
Talking about Harvard, mentions Harvard being featured in countless movies, shows clip from Good Will Hunting where Will is solving a problem on a Blackboard at MIT, where Will works as a janitor. LOL
I loved the ending. It was so real yet so hard to keep a straight face with that camera view
the inspirational speech at the end almost made me tear up 😂
Facts bruhhh😅
True!
I admit that many people go to the college simply because college provide a basic certificate to apply for job (including me). That was the thing for a while so a lot of people don't really need to understand wtf they are doing as long as they get the degree. It's really naive way of thinking but that's how it is. The most important thing is how you make connection, your first job and the next one after. Whatever you do in your life, make sure it was worth it. Took 5 or 6 years to graduate? no worries. You spent more because you build something along the way. Graduate in 3 years but no social life? no problem. You can build relation with extra 1 year you have or earn money faster or join a top company who can provide you with more connection to expand your network or knowledge. Same thing with dropout. As long as you have a purpose in your life, go for it and hit it hard.
I'm not even sorry Eric's idea's are AMAZING a soap mat? Give me one! Also silent coffee shops YES. (Eric you are a highly underrated awesome person, this one's for you
I work at a uni... And I'm always asked "does this degree guarantee me a job" from both prospects and current.
Honestly, the answer is No...for the most part and in my opinion, I think you'll have a better chance of getting a job with connections and experience. School really isn't for everyone (important and not necessarily need for everything). Some careers do require it and are mandatory, but having experience and connections on top...your ahead of the game compared to those who Don't.
Myself for example, my degree is so pointless and isn't related to my career at all... Do I regret spending 4-5years in something "useless"? Nope, cause it was an experience that taught me a lot about myself and the education system. The connections and experience I made while a student was what really got me my job.
My personal advice for newly graduated high school students who are lost in what to do. Either put in the effort to try various jobs (could be volunteering too) and or attend post secondary. Also for those attending post secondary, be active! Don't just attend class and call it a day... Join clubs, volunteer/work, attend study groups, get to know your instructors and peers. Get the most out of the uni/college experience! It's not all about the grades... Don't be like me but my motto even when I was in elementary school was to just "pass and have fun" lol
i was laughing the whole time,, yes theory’s sense of humor is getting better each video HAHAHSHASH loving it
I have been secretly attending university classes over the past 7 years. To be honest, its easy......... unless buildings are key-card entry only.
If anyone is hiring Harvard grads hit me up
Come back to youtube ericccc
whats with the shave?
I saw you on SVU, so why didn't you keep acting?
We really need you back eric
You two together are some of the best entertainment on youtube
I was genuinely shocked to see that Harvard hoodies are made by Gildan! Would have thought an Ivy League school would splash out a bit more than that 😂
Wow, the first yes theory video I ever watched was ‘pretending to be students for 24 hours’ - I cannot believe how much has changed in the last four years, it’s been a journey for all of us
Harvard was established in 1636 in the colonial, pre-Revolutionary era by vote of the Great and General Court of Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1638, the university acquired British North America's first known printing press. In 1639, it was named Harvard College after John Harvard (whose statue you can see at 1:43), an English clergyman who had died soon after immigrating to Massachusetts, bequeathed it £780 and his library of some 320 volumes. The charter creating Harvard Corporation was granted in 1650.
I love that this channel is now focused on what the original Yes Theory is.
That bedtime moment at the end really made my heart full. You guys are great!
I'd love some information on how your friend worked with displaced kids!
Awesome video guys, love the new vids with Tommy & Eric together!
University/College is the best thing a young person can do imo
Meeting so many new people. Living away from home for the first time. Parties. Sports. Beautiful campus to enjoy if you pick a good place. Constant fun
Tommy shouldn't feel bad about dropping out. No one should feel bad about dropping out. If you're doing well and you're happy - it's all that matters. A degree doesn't equal good life and happiness.
I went to college and dropped out because the professor was honestly pretty bad, only to find out he got fired shortly after. I've always wanted to go back but felt so defeated after my first experience.
@@greywardenxiii451 I hope you are doing fine now
I needed to hear this
@@greywardenxiii451 The professor that unjustly failed me in my first year, which ultimately threw my entire college career off track because it takes a whole year to reenroll in that class, got fired shortly after I transferred to a different university. The schadenfreude I felt was liberating although I felt a bit cheated because it only happened after I decided to transfer. I wish there was a way to filter out bad teachers or at least some kind of permanent record for bad teachers.
@@iamoliverblake I completely agree with you
A lesson from my own life, you don't need to go to the best of the best colleges to make it. Even those in the middle tier that are more affordable and still have good opportunities can make a huge difference. You will be surprised at how much you can still do and succeed.
Eric's brain + Tommy's brain together is always a good time. Also, I want whatver Eric takes for those ideas to pop up. LOL!
Totally agree with Tommy. I graduated from university in 2015 and I wish I made the most of university. I wish I had met more people, done more exercise and experienced the college/university experience more.
yeah wish I realized this simple things earlier. I dropped out university 6 years ago because I felt it was not like what I had imagined. I had no expectation or mentors who could navigated my mind ahead. And guess what? I have been doing nothing and don't know what to do to my life. Just breathe and survive. I think the most important thing that you should create your own community because as growing, you will get hard to make friends though. What a great experience to watch this cool video.
Yes Yes YES.... 1000 times YES!!!! I am literally always shouting on the rooftops to have fun in college, meet people, try new things, grades do not define you, be who you want to be and connect with some amazing people while doing it! As a college student I cannot tell you how many people simply do not experience connecting with others! Thanks for using your platform to share the importance of connection
If your smile isn't frozen in place when you watch any of these videos especially these two then you are not a happy person because every video I have ever seen brings pure happiness and joy.
The app bit is hilarious!! Great work guys keep it rollin
A dorm with it's own executive style library. That's the "I pay at least 100k a semester" level of university.
Yes! These are the stories we need!!! The real, close, personal stories.
I stopped with college 2 weeks ago, I just felt depressed and I just wasnt happy with where I was, I'm 24 now and I still have nothing in my hands. I really want to start editing full time, thats like the dream. Its hard to find a study that focuses on editing in Belgium, but i'll figure it out!
14:24 Being 35 and have gone through all the things Ive went through in my life as far as struggles, This has never been a more true comment. Ive busted my ass to apply for great jobs, worked extra to get promotions.... but in the end, Its really about who you know and who value you. Make it count.
The end had me laughing but touched my heart.... To be honest, you all that are in the US should always take advantage of the privileges you have cause I'm from the heart of Africa and have been declined passage to the US in hope to better my studies and a better future than what I see ahead.. Been moving from country to country trying to find different ways or possibility to increase my chances of getting an F1 visa to the US.. Hope y'all stay positive and keep pushing.. Love you strangers...
I pray you will achieve what you desire
I wish you luck
I know a lot of people who joined the military to get themselves and their family in to the US. Many of my friends studied for their citizenship test while in BCT. They even have places you go before BCT in order to learn English if it's not your first language.
@@greywardenxiii451 I get you but the military is not the way I wanna go about it.. Been applying to Community Colleges and they give a TOEFL (English) test for international students..
@@GeorgeOrwell1554 Thank you brother🙏🏽❤️
no but those forehead GoPro shots get me every.single.time 😂
As someone who dropped out of their dream course subject, I appreciate this video. There is always that lingering voice, yet through action and showing myself my decision was the correct one I continue confidently ✨
I am so happy that you guys took on Eric I've been following him for awhile always hilarious videos with him and his mom. Perfect fit for yes theory
The anti culture lol Dropout? Na I am dropping in. I learn so much from their channel.
Eric was basically like "we should give people an app that lets them post their pictures on the line"
The “4 years of experience” remark a the end of the vid really speaks to me lol. How do companies expect entry level employees to have that much experience right out the gate?
Absilutely one of the best videos I have ever watched on all the channels..
Bonus is that scene of them partying, I just laughed my butt off😂
I'm happy to say I'm a college drop out. It's a difficult decision. Even my relatives were angry because I was the only one who couldn't finish in our family. I'm still the eldest of my siblings. lol To me., it seems like the ease of feeling that you are free. And keep doing the things you want to do. I was a fine-art student then. Of course, I also learned a lot, memories for three years I was about to graduate. Case I thought I'd rather push my career as an artist even if I don't have a college degree. I know I can and my journey is going somewhere. A few years have passed since I dropped out of college. I'm looking for a job, commissions so I can support myself. and little by little I'm seeing the results. tThank god.. Here i am a full time digital artist, animator and one of the founders of our crypto project and we aim to help artists in our community. 😁
The college experience in Australia is nothing like the US. People live at home with parents and just go to their local University (most people), so there's no living in dorms and parties. You just go to class, and then go home. If you wanted the privilege to live in the few dorms at uni, they're usually quite tame and you wouldn't even have time to party as you'll need a part time job to afford to live in a dorm.
I was having a really bad day got some news about medical crap that was not good . You two really made my day better your hilarious keep up the good work !!!
The serious heartfelt conversation with the face cams was gold
That advice at the end was solid. Wish someone had told me that when I was in college.
Great video. Now, if I find myself in Boston once, I will go and attend a Harvard class. Love from Spain!!
im back to college after 10 year break and I am appreciative of my time now with it, thank you for inspiring me again
Loved the message of this video, the camera angle was wonderful as well.
Ahmed is so inspiring. I really want to get his book
this video is comforting. ive never been to a college party and im a coming 4th year college student in architecture, its my dream course and im kinda losing passion about it. i want to dropout but i dont know what to do next. i really want to be in the fashion industry right now.
This was so good, light-hearted, & creative
This was so cute. Love seeing Tommy and Eric!
The last chat between Erik and tom was so good and the funny camera shots made it even better
the deep moment at the end with the go pros lmaoooooo love this video!
I liked the story of Ahmed and the app idea. Also enjoyed the headcam view.nice one.
feels like the old yes theory, Love the energy boys! keep it up the excellent work - much love from canada
I studied hard during my undergrad because I studied in a smaller town with nothing to do. For my masters degree I went to a bigger university and I decided that I will be having the time of my life. I joined a few societies, went out, went to a society trip abroad, partied, definitely did not do as well as I could but at the end of the master year I definitely had lived as I hoped and had no regrets. At the end of the day it is not so serious even if you fail a course or two, you can do it and it is going to be the best time of your life.
12:52 the friking camera on their faces xD
That made me laugh wayy too much...
You two really got me with this one! Wow. The bonding experience you both had in this was amazing and the ending had me in tears because I could even feel the love between the two of you. Seriously GREAT episode and thank you for sharing raw discussions like you did at the end!
14:11 can't take it seriously with the cameras 😂
I seriously love you guys! Endlessly enjoying your content. Thank you for the inspo and humor! ♥️🙏
Being University student and I realized just admiring Yes Theory from RUclips platform is not enough I have to go to seek great discomfort and I have to make my these days most beautiful as much as possible....
I wanna just start popping onto college campuses and taking classes in big lecture halls now
Awesome vid!!!
Yes the experience required at the end was the most relatable thing ive seen in here
That library is a DREAM
Okay for some reason it was on my recommendation and I love it! You got yourselves a subscriber!
The part that this doesn’t show is the insane workload that harvard gives. Harvard is hard! There is imposter syndrome everywhere, snakes everywhere, and profs assign a ton of work.
But also, the parties are lit, you get to meet some of the brightest minds, and you have a great 4 years
Def upsides and downsides
omg omg omg. during eric’s list of ideas he said fancy porta potty business. i literally had the same idea. to do like a composting toilet for sustainability and have robot arms that spray disinfectant after each person leaves. and it’s made out of bamboo instead of plastic. crazy he had the same idea. i wonder who else has thought of this.
Awesome video :)) !! I always take a lesson from each video. I’m on my pathway towards college, still deciding where to go , but my focus has shifted because of this video.
“Put your pencil down, go out and make some friends”
I really like the advice given in the last part of the video. I was almost about to cry.
My mom is a Harvard grad and I'm a college dropout. I feel a little guilt cause she worked hard to get where she is but I have no clue what I want to do so it's not worth staying in college and wracking up debt just to get a degree I might not use
How old are u if I may ask Alex? And what are u doing right now instead of college?
Eric you seriously are hilarious!! Thanks for the smiles!
Just a slight correction, you showed a clip from 'Good Will Hunting' introducing it as one of the movies featuring Harvard. That movie actually features MIT, not Harvard. I'm not sure where Good Will Hunting was actually filmed, but it is definitely featuring MIT.
That LinkedIn part was hilarious. lol. 100% facts 🤣
The face camera angles at the end had me dying lmao
Fun tips: you can message your classmates and Canvas (or whatever online tool your school uses) and invite them to a study discord server. I’ve found that making friends that way is cool and easy. Also, there’s a lot of opportunity to volunteer your time to help with a good cause, you can make friends and help people.
“Really loud Keyboard” got me 😂
The head cameras made me a little nauseous but I strangely loved it, made everything more fun
I can't stop laughing with these two and their bits 😂😂
And it's perfect because there are also real, heartfelt moments in the videos. Keep them coming!
