    Love FT3, right there in Electric Avenue. I personally have the RIA TAC Ultra in 10mm for the camp site, G26 for the EDC. 9mm for the hoods, 10mm for the woods 😎

    Got two Rock Island 1911 pistols, the 5-inch "Rock Standard" that fell off roster a few years ago and the 3.5" CS, both have been pretty great for me and the only issues I have experienced were failures to feed on the last round and it was always with the Act-Mags that came with the guns. When I use Mec-Gars, Wilsons, and even KCI there are no problems.
    When people buy these things I think they are expecting them to run like a modern polymer pistol that requires only a drop of oil every couple hundred rounds, no, these are all metal, entry level, budget pistols. What that means is that they like to be run wet and they are a little rough around the edges and you will need to not be intimidated with completely taking them apart and spending some time smoothening out all the small parts on them a bit.
    There are plenty of online video guides showing how to fix every little problem with 1911 pistols but the key things are properly tuning the extractor and polishing the rails, feed ramp and barrel throat/ceiling, all those things are very easy to do and don't cost but a few bucks on Flitz polish and some of your time to rub it in and cycle the slide for a few minutes.

    Rock Island is definitely worth it, but when Tisas entered the game that kind of put rock Island on the back burner

    It sucks that there’s no 4” 1911’s in 9mm in CA

    Officer is 3.5 inch and Commander is 4.25 in. My experience with RIA has been very positive. I did have a 10mm Ultra MS (commander) that had a weak plunger spring. The safety would move relatively easy. This kept me from carrying it concealed and would cause the slide to lock open with rounds still in the mag. Ordered WC part and am going to switch it out. That should fix both issues.

    Triggers are awesome. Have the M1911 A1 CS in 45….. flawless. Also the M1911 A2 FS Tact II…. 16 rounds of 10mm ….. flawless with brass, steel, aluminum….. awesome. That tail on the 45 double stack seems to be install upside down….

    I've got nothing good to say about my Ria Pro ultra match hi-cap 9 except the long name (I had to look it up on the ria website to get it right)lol. It is an awesome straight shooter. Has zero recoil compared to my other 9"s.

    I have a Colt Wiley Clapp and no issues. I had a RIA 10mm and traded it in. RIA look good but not so reliable.

    You may want to try a lighter bullet on that compact/officer's size 1911. The lighter bullets go up the magazine faster and that could correct timing issues. Also, the more you shoot them, the more they smoothen out.

    • @Zantar45
      @Zantar45 2 дня назад

      Before I bought an RIA 3.5 CS I saw a Wilson Combat video where they said the smaller the .45 1911 pistol is, the lighter and faster the bullets should be.
      I have been firing 185gr range and defensive ammo out of mine and it loves the stuff

    Hate how Cali doesn’t have a commander with rail. So I got the RIA MS and went straight to the gun smith. Had a rail Novak sights installed all other modern features added and cerakoted.
    With it.

    Yes. My personal opinion on Rock Island. 💯 as far as my 3 that i own. VR80 shotgun, both tac ultra fshc 45acp and 10mm. ( 0 ) issues with all three. I run the piss out of them. Especially the VR80 shotgun. I would have to say from my point of view. Rock Island is a..... 💪 SOLID 💪 firearm

    Rock Island? Sorry... I can't get there. Give me Colt, Springfield, or to a lesser extent, Kimber. I served when the Colts and Springfields were still being issued to us, so my "bias" is with them, as well as the 92F (M9) that later replaced them. I'm not knocking the R.I., but... no thank you. 🙂

      @@EagleLyfer The "1911 double stack" is a 2011.

    • @EagleLyfer
      @EagleLyfer 2 дня назад +1

      @@phoenixskeptic7698for people that know anything about guns, 2011 typically denotes a 9mm in the 1911ish format.
      It looks as those the Rock Island is a double stack 45acp, which would not make it known as a 2011.

    • @FoxBonly
      @FoxBonly 2 дня назад

      @@EagleLyfer I personally refer to both 1911 .45 double stacks and 1911 9mm doubles as 2011 because I'm not sure there is an industry standard label. Yet. And I think that because one of the manufacturers has a patent on the 2011 nomenclature which I think has been causing these type issues.

    • @ChuckSneed88
      @ChuckSneed88 2 дня назад

      @@EagleLyfer2011 denotes a specific split frame with grip module design. The original patent is held by SVI (strayer voight Infinity) and staccato (formerly STI) and it outlines this. The split frame design is what seperates it from a para ordnance style full frame double stack 1911. The RIA FS HC is a para ordnance style double stack 1911 as it doesnt have the split frame and grip module. Most 2011s are double stack but single stack 2011s have existed since the beginning of the 2011 platform in the 80s and up till recently staccato had a single stack 2011 cs series. Caliber has no effect on denotation, the original 2011s were all 45 ACP and 38 super and the original magazine tube design is has dimension based around the 45 acp/38 super. Recently bul armory and staccato have made gen 2 styled mags that are based around 9mm dimensions but for decades all 2011 mags were using tubes made for 45 acp/38 super that would then be dimpled and pressed in so that 9mm would feed out of it.

    Third world production gets 3rd world quality. These are made by kids overseas. The owners should be ashamed of such a terrible product being offered to the U.S.
    P.s. their sponsors are not qualified marksman of any sort as you can see in the video.
