Hi Vivian. As a vegan, I look carefully at ingredient lists, and most restaurant pancake mixes have dairy in them. That is why I strictly avoid restaurant pancakes. Same with waffle mixes. Fortunately it's a lot easier to find vegan pizzas, since if they do not have vegan cheese alternatives, just ask for a pizza without the cheese, and it still has everything else!
Anyways, I realize this is a three year old video, and hope you've found some cool vegan innovations that work on the trails!

It is good to see you again. As a backpacker in the 1960s, we just built little cooking fires to heat our meals. The only weight was our strike anywhere matches and our mess kits. I hope that the school change goes well. Have a Happy and Healthy New Year. Good Luck, Rick
Fortunately or unfortunately you can’t do that much anymore with all the wildfire hazards. But that does sound rewarding to have fire cooked meals nightly. Thank you!

Omg I know why you look so familiar! I'm pretty sure I saw you at Spencer Spit state park on Lopez! If any of that sounds familiar I was one of the Park staff there that pointed you towards Frost island. I'm revisiting your channel because I'm hiking the AT next year and obsessing over all thru hike videos atm, haha.
