This came out at the right time. I was looking for the 'right size' for a PNG. I figured 4000px on the long side, definitely like the 5400px on the long side advice. Thanks

You are amazing with all the content you create and share! I'm still confused a bit - I plan to sell digital downloaded wall art that are sold in 5 sizes (all jpeg). How do I create all the aspect ratios that are sold (2x3, 3x4, 4x5, 11x14 and international)? I know how to create the file as 300 DPI but creating different sizes is lost on me! Thanks in advance for any tips or maybe even a video going through the details! Cheers!
yes that is a great question and I definitely can cover this in a video (I appreciate the suggestion)! Basically it depends on the software (like if you are using Photoshop, you can just change the canvas size and then shuffle your image around. What program are you using to create the jpeg?

I was struggling with this on the newer version too! If you click on Export, and look under the Image Size settings, next to the canvas preview you'll see two boxes - Export Selected Only and Hide Export Settings. If Hide Export Settings is selected, uncheck that box. Then, when you go to save, a small box will pop up - change the pHYsDPI to your desired DPI and it will save it that way. Hope this helps!

Hey there - yes you can save a JPEG in Inkscape. Just click "File > Save As" and there are a bunch of different types. Sometimes I am messing around in Affinity so just save it as a JPEG in there (there are multiple tools to do it). Hope that helps!

Hey there - it's basically the same file. The 'Inkscape' SVG just has some metadata inside it to help Inkscape understand it better but they are essentially the exact same data points. So I would say use the Inkscape SVG because there is no downside to using it outside of Inkscape.
No, generally you would upload a PNG file or a JPEG file. SVG files used by customers are mostly for Silhouette machines (digital cutting machines that cut elaborate designs into paper and other mediums). For a regular t-shirt design, you would typically use a PNG or JPEG file.
What If I save my SVG PNG JPG all as 4500 x 5400 pixels with Canva. Is that okay, or will I get bad reviews on one of them if I sell on Etsy? Can I then just convert the PNG into DXF and EPS without doing anything extra and then sell them all and have a clear conscience that they will be all in perfect condition?
Hey there - I typically save the SVG file as a pretty small file (because it is infinitely scalable, so there is no advantage to make the SVG large). For the others, 4500 x 5400 is a great idea as that is the base size for Merch by Amazon (a popular site). You are on the right track - convert them all and then if you get a complaint/question from a customer (which will happen eventually) - just tweak the size for them and they will typically be thrilled with the great customer service!

I have the MacOS version of inkscape. I cant seem to find the advanced tab to fix the DPI. Do you know how to find it?

whats the difference between an svg and a dpx. oi though svg was a cutting file thats why im confused 😩
