Hi Maria that long pole is really handy. The last time i did my downstairs outside windows i fell of the steps. We never see a window cleaner round here. I noticed Dean cleaned all the ledges, the last window cleaner that did them ages ago didn't do the ledges. So i did the downstairs myself and had to put a cloth on a stick to do the upstairs ones. You're very organised with Sean's homeschooling work. It's a good idea taking it in the car with you.

That's the trouble with climbing, it's so dangerous without bad joints. Dean fell off a ladder years ago, before he had arthritis. He fell as he was doing a customers upstairs windows. Their ledge gave way, luckily he landed on a garage roof. The pole is much safer. Dean always cleans the pvc and doors, he likes everywhere to gleam!
In summer we often go out with Sian's school tray. She likes it when she does history and we're visiting somewhere connected to what she's learning.

Good luck to your daughter with her studies. We home-educated throughout primary and though our son is now in his GCSE year at school, we're still very much involved! The CGP books were a home-ed staple and are used at school too!
Good work on getting thise windows clean. I am the King of Streaks when I try myself so happily leave it to a skilled person instead.
Have a great Friday and weekend!

      Thank you.
We're the other way round, Sian went to school during her primary years but elected for home education for her secondary years. Yes the CGP books are excellent, we also work with Collins books too.
Streaks are a nuisance. It's not so bad this time of year, but you have to be fast during hot weather or you can get some nasty streaks because the windows dry almost instantly, you then end up having to do it all over again!
Thank you for watching. We wish your son well in his GCSE studies too.

The scrims are brilliant for polishing up the windows, I use them on my mirrors too.
He felt a bit bad when he told customers he was leaving, but they were very understanding because of his arthritis.

    Great vlog! Thank you 😊
I find it really therapeutic watching that squeegee glide over the window. Unfortunately my skills are not too good. Everyone seems to recommend the microfibre cloths these days, but I'm going to try the scrims.
Do you use just tap water? I'm in a hard water area, and that tends to leave marks on everything ☹

Scrims are really good, we've never used anything else.
Yes we use hot tap water. We are in a hard water area too. You can boil your water in the kettle if it's causing problems. The fairy liquid softens it too.
      Thank you for watching.

Interesting seeing trad pole work and straight pulls. Just to point out that if water from water fed pole work damages brickwork surely rain would cause lots more damage over the years??? How do you clean the upstairs frames with an applicator, squeegee and scrim?
If a water fed pole window cleaner is leaving streaks then it's the user that is doing a poor job, same as a squeegee can leave streaks if not done well.
Bottom line, if your customers are happy then all good.

The pole isn't Dean's choice for upper cleans, he has had to resort to it because of arthritis. It isn't the best. Brickwork structures do get damaged by rain over time, which is why they get repointed as part of their maintenance, mortar joints suffer weathering. There's good and bad to be said for both ways. At the end of the day, like you say, it's what the customer is happy with.
      Thank you for watching 😊
