I've not had them with lard since I was a girl when my mum made them. I normally have oven chips, but they're so dry. Dean makes his own but with oil. I thought it might be nice to make some the original way with lard, I'm looking forward to trying them. Thank you for watching 😊

Yes we use quite a bit of milk. I get the 4 cartons of six pints, then I'll get another couple of 4 pinters to last me the week. No we don't all eat cereal. We eat toast, eggs and sometimes pancakes too. Not everyone has breakfast, like Dean, he never bothers with it, he's more of a brunch type of person. I don't think you're nosy lol. I like a banana sandwich, but I couldn't eat a mackerel and banana one, mind you I hate fish! I was quite happly with all I got for my money from Iceland, it was a good haul and will last a while. I like it when the cupboards are full and you only need a few bits, it's a cheaper week. It doesn't happen very often in our house though, we're often getting extra mouths to feed. We often go from feeding three to seven. Thank you for watching 😊

We had a beautiful spring like day earlier in the week, now its gone frosty again with the threat of sleet next week. I suppose its still early in February so I can't grumble. I've heard of cheese with apple, but never with apple pie. I love cheese and apple pie, but I can't imagine eating them together. The next time I have apple pie I'll be thinking about this 😂 In summer when we eat lots of salad I like cheese and grapes together. @@judith4985 people want him out, the only problem is there's no one to replace him. I think Trump probably sees Starmer as a yes man. I think it's probably true as Starmer called him all kinds of things before Trump won, now he sucks up to him. He's weak. I think Trump may be easier on the uk because he likes the royal family. My New Year plans only seem to work for me, the rest of the household have their own ideas especially Dean who can't live without his pies, he even has pie sandwiches 😂 I've got to try the macaroni pasties, it seems such an odd thing to mix pasta and pastry together. I like homemade macaroni cheese with salad. Yes it was a very good shop in Iceland, they do some really good deals. Dean said the fish is very nice and for 50p a piece it's great value. I buy the cheapest ones, they're very basic but I can put extra topping on them with any leftovers I have. Some pizzas are very expensive with stuffed crusts and fancy toppings. Wow you were super busy! It's crazy how we set out wanting one or two things and end up with a car boot full 😂 It is good if you can get things in the sales. I haven't used my air fryer for a long time, I'm in love with my slow cooker at the moment, probably because we're in stew and casserole season. I cook so many meals some days that I wouldn't fit them in my air fryer, so I use my cooker. It is a good thing you weren't food shopping, imagine how much more you'd have bought! Ice Cream Recipe 1 can of sweetened condensed milk 2 cups of whipping cream, or heavy cream. Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Add the condensed milk. Whip together. You can add vanilla or fold in fruits. Put into a container and freeze. Super easy and tastes lovely. 😊

It seems cooking oil is very expensive everywhere. I don't understand why as there isn't a shortage of it. I haven't seen any savoy cabbages, but they're not in season yet. I like to grate the white cabbage and put them in salad wraps, although I'm steaming them for roast dinners at the moment. Goodness knows why the price is rising so much on veg oil especially as that and sunflower oil is so common. I used to have the extra virgin olive oil, but that's more expensive than a bottle of martini now! Some stores have tags on the olive oil like they do on the bottles of alcohol because its so expensive. Ice cream is one of the things I've never made. I always say I'll have a go one day, but I've not tried it yet. Banana ice cream sounds nice! Thank you for watching 😊

The cost of veg oil is ridiculous! Dean said for me to get a block of lard. I remember my mum cooking chips every Monday for tea. She used the fat from the roast she'd cooked on Sunday, the chips tasted lovely! Thank you for watching 😊

I have to be honest the look of the mince puts me off, I don't know why they've started to mush it up like they have. All of their mince was the same, even the lamb! I like blueberries, I grow mine, but they're not in season yet. I've noticed lots of new buds on the bush, so I'm hoping I get a good crop of blueberries this year. I'll try the washing up liquid and see how I get on with it. I normally have fairy, I don't need much of it as it bubbles up with just a little squirt. I find if I squeeze too much fairy in my bowl everything slips out of my hands. I think I need to buy joints of ham if Siân will eat it. I used to like boiled ham when I was a kid. They had two varieties of the tofu bakes, but I cant remember what the other one was. Lisa eats a lot of salad so likely she'll eat them with that. I'll get her verdict on them when she tries one. It sounds lovely where you live, despite the cold temperatures. You did very well sticking to your list, it's very rare I do that lol. I will freeze left over chilli, although I'll make one meat and one vegan. I love rice pudding, especially when it's done in the slow cooker, so creamy tasting. Dean is the coffee drinker and he likes the Nescafe. I'm a tea drinker, I only drink coffee when I have a costa latte. Maybe once or twice a week! Hi Maria thanks for replying the message I sent basically went sorry to hear about your disasters especially the fish and that another alternative to replace them was to buy a jelly fish lamp they are so calming and change Color’s they are only about 20 pound from Amazon I loved mine you could stand it on your worktop whilst cooking that’s what I did the other thing was I buy rechargeable batteries which are good cause you only have to recharge them and my disaster was I tried to melt a candle on my stove and boiled it dry my smoke alarm went off there was smoke everywhere I had to call my ex husband who brought my son round he had to pull the smoke alarm off the ceiling it wouldn’t stop all because I was trying to save money I got upset and felt like a fool but he solved it wot do that aqain In future I’ll just buy one oh and where you doing anything for valentines either baking or celebrating and happy new year I think that was about it hope you get this message Maria ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻😊

Hopefully that's the end as they say things come in threes! I'm seeing on the news that tomorrow is going to be bad. The worse is looking like it'll be Ireland and Scotland. No. Not when the snow melts. The ground is dry so absorbs the water, and because the air is so dry a lot just evaporates. I love hanging laundry on my line. I’m the only one that does it in my area! I love crawling into bed and smelling the fresh air on the sheets. Better than a sleeping pill! Lol ❤️🙏🏻😊
