      Clad i found this,i noticed stock 2.2 canyon tires "jitters" easy on wet snow,=they get full of snow and wont empty,too much lugs, it does well until it cant empty itself

      Right on...😊👍
      And I totally hear ya about the stock tire "tire chatter" in the snow.😄 Good news is "that this little trim job" works great on the 2.2 Canyon Trails as well,😊 I trimmed down my newer 2.2 Canyon Trail tires "That I currently run on my bronco" a few months ago and they work Awesome.😊
      Thanks for your great comment, and much appreciated for checking out the video.😁👍

      @@R.C.A.D. yeah its like its almost getting grip but only bounces little bit and wont move,it would need on inytiny piece of more traction and it would move,so i will do as u did in video,and im pretty sure it will empty the tire pattern so much better and keep going :)

      RC After Dark very welcome I love the videos!! I actually got my scx10 out today and had a little fun. It’s been a long time but so glad I was able to get in a little run time. I’m still fighting the tire and wheel battle lol. But I have bought several sets here the last little bit and going to do some comparisons and see which works best for me. I just hope I have a set out of the 4 sets I’ve bought lol. I buy a set and then find another set at a good deal I like a little better so I’ve accumulated 4 sets over the past couple weeks lol. Anyway great videos like always. Hopefully that snow will be gone very soon!!!

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  5 лет назад +1

      Much appreciated Sarah 😊
      Lol about your growing tire collection,that tends to happen,😁 hopefully one of those set's will be the magic ticket,😀 I've found that a super swamper style tread pattern,works well in most terrain types,a soft rubber compound is also helpful,it gives the tires,the ability too flex around,and grip onto various obstacles,tire foams play a strong roll too,
      especially when rock crawling,too much tire flex can also cause rollovers,😀
      That's cool that you had a chance too run your new truck,I bet you were excited about that,😀 other than the tires,how did it compare with your WLtoys,?
      As for that darn snow,it's anyone's guess really,it stuck around until like the beginning of May last year,lol it's supposed to be in the mid 40's for the next few days,so hopefully that trend continues,
      Thanks again for your great comments,and channel support Sarah 😁👊👊

    • @sarahbowen9686
      @sarahbowen9686 5 лет назад +1

      RC After Dark yes I hope the weather continues to stay above freezing and at least melt what snow you have before you get anymore lol. As for the scx10 vs the wltoys. It was a night and day difference without a doubt. Not putting the wltoys down at all because for the money spent I feel it is a very good crawler type rc that does very well and is very competitive as crawling itself goes. But the scx10 most defiantly has its advantages and just feels all around smoother to me. When comparing the 2 it’s kind of like having a Chevy cavalier and then getting a Mercedes or bmw, although one is as good as another performance wise or reliability you just know that value and popularity wise the Mercedes has it beat lol. That’s about the only way I know to put them in comparison. And not dissing a cavalier lol I had a brand new one back in 03 and drove it for years. Great car lol!!

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  5 лет назад

      😊 I was gonna say something in my last comment,about the difference between the two trucks,but I wanted too see what you had too say about them,😁
      The WLtoys is no slouch by any means going offroad,or rock climbing,it's only real drawback is it's ground clearance at the belly pan,otherwise it's a very capable chassis,like the twin hammers,and it's a tough comparison to make between a chassis like that,vs a solid axle scale trail truck,Other than ground clearance,and suspension,the only real positive thing on the scx is it's overall offroad reliability,and scale realism,but the offroad performance between the two is negligible,other than the scx has a better steering servo,and esc,both being more crawler friendly compared too the stock WLtoys electronics,
      Ultimately they are just two different animals,like a Ford raptor vs a custom built truggy,they both have unique features when going offroad,😀👍

    Thanks for uploading this video.Can't wait to see how it performs after i cut this tread pattern. I was thinking about cutting the outer foams to where it looks like a sprocket/gear. Here's a video using a heat gun to remove one side of the tire to get to the foams. I have seen people use acetone but that's not for me lol. Looks messy and I'm sure its not good for the rubber/foams. Thanks for the tips brother!

    Spray wd 40 on the tires to prevent them from clogging up with dirt. It helps to release the dirt from the lugs. It works try it

    • @R.C.A.D.
      @R.C.A.D.  4 года назад

      Hmm🤔😕 I've done that before in the winter, which worked for snow, but not very long, lasted about 45 minutes, I found that at least for winter usage, it's ultimately better just to let your entire vehicle acclimate to the cold temps before running it, and nothing sticks to anything after that,😁
      But I didn't think about trying WD-40 in the summer,🤔 I suppose, I don't mind the tires loading up in the summer conditions, because that's what makes the entire experience more real,😕
      Probably not to many people Spraying down there Real full sized vehicle tires with WD-40, I would imagine that a 33 inch super swamper would probably eat at least a can and a half of WD-40,😁 Which would get expensive pretty quick doing a set of four,😂 Really it's kinda a waste of WD-40 to use it on the RC tires as well, not to mention the possible "Pollution factor" of WD-40 getting into the Soil, I would imagine that if you used it a lot on your vehicle, while traveling through the same areas while driving your truck, that it would eventually spread into the Soil that your driving on,🤔
      Have you ever tried Silicone Spray on your tires ? Ultimately that would work even better than WD-40 for rappelling water, sand, or dirt,🤔 but once again, kinda expensive! and also kinda running a Risk of Pollution, Which is why I don't put anything on my tires,😕 p.s. Armor All would probably work pretty good too 😁👍 Personally I prefer to keep it real 😉👍
      Thanks for your great Comment Cody, And much appreciation for taking the time to check out the video my friend.😎👍👍

    Take a 5 gallon bucket put about 1 inch deep of acetone in the bottom and a rack on top about 3 inches high lay the tires in the bucket one side down close the bucket. The next day break that side loose repeat for the other side there you go.

      not that I plan on reusing the wheels,😂 lol but then again after saying that,I might just separate the back half of the wheel,remove the foam,and glue the tires back on,that way I have a set of dedicated snow tires,😕 hmm! decision's,decision's,lol

      Sounds like a very slow,and time consuming process Kevin,😕 The body scissors made quick work of the tires,
      "Slash & Dash" lol
      Then right back outside for more testing,😂
      I had thought about using a soldier iron,with a chisel tip,for removing the extra lugs,but the idea of filling my kitchen with the smell of burnt rubber,💨persuaded me too use scissors instead,😁
      I'll have too check out Charlie rc's channel too see how he went about it,when it comes too fabricating,and customizing,I usually come up with ideas,and execute them myself,been working on RC's since around "1979,"so right around 40 year's of RC experience,it's not very often,that I'll look on RUclips to see what someone else has done,been working on these things since way before RUclips was ever thought of, lol 😁 not trying to sound like a jerk,please don't think of me as one for saying this,I'm just old school when it comes too RC's,😁
      But I'll check out his channel just too see exactly what you are referring too 😀👍

      Very much appreciated my fellow jeep brother,speaking of which do you no anything about XJ'S,I have a 01 xj limited,that's giving me a intermittent problem,it started doing it a few months ago,and is now acting up on a daily basis,It will run fine for about an hour,and then usually when I come to a stop,the vehicle will start running rough,it's like it just slips into running rough,
      When it's doing that,I started unplugging injectors one at a time to see if it made a difference,and found that it doesn't do anything different if I unplug the first injector,and the last injector,but if I unplug any of the other injectors,it will start running even rougher,which common sense would suggest is the injectors,but here's the kicker,if I turn the jeep off,and let it sit for a minute,and then restart it,it will run normal,at least most of the time,sometimes I have to turn it on,and off a few times before it clears up,It's a 4.0L with 157,000.0 miles,I replaced the plugs,and coil pack,but it didn't change anything,so far the only thing that cures the problem is turning it off,and restarting it,😲 I'm thinking it's got to be a computer issue,but I'm not sure,and it's got me pulling my hair out,😕😢 lol
      Anyways thanks for the advice on separating the tires,and for checking out the video Brother 😎👊👊
