    I love how people always feel the need to apologize to Bernadette whenever they do something modern in their historically-inspired sewing😂💜 I also say a small apology to Ms. Banner every time I sit down at my (very modern) sewing machine with a regency gown or a Medieval shift! lol Alas, my hand sewing is still quite poor and no one is going to be looking at my hem anyway.
    This came out fabulously, btw--I am in constant awe of your skills!

      Hahah right! I just so clearly remember her saying that she absolutely hates serged finishes. So every time i serge an edge I hear Bernadette saying that in my head 😅🙈 but thank you for the compliment ☺️

    I WON???? I’m in Texas and we are experiencing a “winter storm” that is probably normal to everyone that lives in cold places but we haven’t seen temps this low in 30 years. I haven’t had internet for about 5 days. I won! I’m so shocked and excited!

    It is so lovely. The Rusian braiding seems like a very fiddly job - but so worth it!

    Even with the issues you mentioned at the end, the final outfit is gorgeous. Yes, I can see where a couple of bones would make it even better and such, but it’s still very good as it is.

      Yes, I think the extra petticoat I wore on set made my skirt rise up a bit higher and thus pushing the bodice up

    Wow! Just WOW!
    I'm so impressed with this make, with the complicated bodice shape and the intense Russian braiding.
    You will be even happier with a bit of boning, that's true, but you should be SO VERY PROUD of this glorious make.

    You've done a beautiful job on this ensemble! Such a complicated design and tbh, I am so impressed by the deep smooth hem. I think 2 inches deep, and looks like it had a piped braid added as well, which could have ended looking quite bulky in that fabric. I'm impressed!!!

    The amount of work you put into this seems more like anything I've seen you do on this channel so far (even more than the purple gown). It looks really amazing! I hope you can fix those few things that bother you still, but even if you can't; it's beautiful and you wear it so well!

    This is one of the most amazing things I have seen! (I'm sure you have heard the old story: How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time! I saw the photo of the dress and just stuttered to a stop! It seemed impossible. Yet, one step at a time, you did it. Astonishing and wonderful.)

    This looks beautiful.There is such a lot of detail in this outfit.I think your right bones might help it sit a bit more even ,says me who has not made a dress for many years lol!..You sew beautifully and pay attention to all the little details that makes a garment special.I am glad I found you as I do love to see the beautiful gowns not only made but worn too.🥰
