Settings - general - accessibility - touch assist -toggle on, screw the home button. Or replace the display, again. Odds are the replacement screen is a piece or you didn’t disconnect the battery and effed up the new display or home button if you just replaced the display which is usually when the home button decides to stop working. If it just abruptly stopped working and no water damage just use the touch assist if you’ve opened phone and confirmed ribbon is connected. Its screwed.
Great video but one problem we don’t need to hear about the screwdriver that saved your life but again awesome video I had to change my screen and was giving me the same error and upon re-setting my iPhone 10,000 times I’m going through different setting and changing things turning off and turning on things did not help but as soon as I got to your video everything just came together. Thanks.
Vincent, but if you do the first mistake and attach the new with a new home button is this mistake irreversible ? As later if you saw your film I know I made a mistake , can I somehow swap again an old screen with old button and then back with the new screen with an old button ? ( or the newly bought screen is lost for this phone and i have to buy a new one and do it starting with an old Home button ?
I swapped screens to an aftermarket one, installed it all properly but still no Touch ID. Someone on a forum said Apple pairs the screen to the touch button/logic board too. I’m lost
I used to have that failed message, but after I updated the ios to the latest version, the message gone. But the touch id still not working, can someone help me?
So I replaced my display WITH the original touch ID button. I don't receive any message but touch ID will simply not read my finger print. It's super weird because it acts like it does but doesnt
Hi Vincent you didn't show how you removed your original home button from the broken screen without breaking it. How did you get it unglued from the broken screen?
My iPhone 7 battery was dead, so I bought a new one and this was my first time opening an iPhone so I accidentally separated the glass from the LCD panel on the left side so I had to buy a new screen (which did not include a home button). So I transferred all components from old screen to new screen “including home button” and now my home button doesn’t work..... so what does one do from here
Ur stuck unless u buy an original apple replacement screen ur home button or Touch ID will not work happened to me with 3 customers after my supplier sent me bad screens after a good 7 years of having no faulty screens
Ps to all as long as you go the original home button and motherboard together your ok but if any of those two aren’t together then no Touch ID but you can replace a the motherboard and home button pretty easy but they have to be from the same phone
The touch iD is attached to your motherboard. Even if you take the screen from another iPhone the touch iD won't work if it's not the button it came with.
@@craigbryden7487 you probably damaged the cable. Its extremely fragile. I have done this to 3 iPhone so far and they all work with touch ID functioning.
So I replaced the lcd, but the touch won't work. I don't use an iPhone so I dnt know much about them. The home button works fine(Original) but the touch screen won't work. It worked fine but later on it said, it doesn't recognise touch ID . Help
I would double check the display connections are properly seated to the motherboard on the iPhone. One of those is for the digitizer which is how the phone registers touch.
I replaced my screen and it looks real nice the only problem is the home button does not want to work it's completely unresponsive but I was able to use the Assistive Touch so it's a perfectly working iPhone with Assistive Touch instead of the home button wish I can live with but m e h
I’m 13 years old,but I know all about mobile phones. My iphone 5s also have the same problem as you but they said it’s the motherboard,I don’t believe them.
The original home button is paired with the original lcd screen when you buy your new Iphone. If you replace the screen with another screen you need a new home button that is paired with that new screen,I know fuk apple!!!
Hey guys recently damaged was caused to my white iphone screen i replaced the screen with a fully assembled original screen from another fone, with the home button, Unfortunently touch id didnt work, So i used my Original white home button with my replacement black display screen, Luckily touch id was saved, Mashaallah and i have the touch id feature, 1 good advice i would like to share with you is use your original home button with a Oem original display screen maybe from a different phone, That will solve the touch id issue, I recently attempt a repair and it worked just fine

Takes 10 min to say - use original button.
Was also mentioned in the first 30 seconds of the video ;)

Unfortunately, Touch ID doesn't work with aftermarket screens. Along with using the original logic board, you have to make sure the screen is OEM
I used to have that failed message, but after I updated the ios to the latest version, the message gone. But the touch id still not working, can someone help me?
If you are just trying to replace a battery will it make the Touch ID stop working?
Yes happened to me problem arise

Hi Vincent you didn't show how you removed your original home button from the broken screen without breaking it. How did you get it unglued from the broken screen?
You need a hair dryer to heat it up a little bit like 30 seconds max … it will melt the glue and will be easier to remove
Hi i have a question regarding the iphone home button, Will the Original home button touch id feature work with a aftermarket display screen
Yes
hi mate i meant will the finger print featire work with a after market display screen?

Any links for a genuine iPhone screen that allows Touch ID? My old phone button is broken

did the same thing on iphone 8 still touch id not working 😔😔
did you solve it? I think it is because it detects is not the motherboard idk
TY for ur video... now my ID Touch is back~ 👍🏻
the button is not related to the screen but is related to the mother board
I used the original and still doesn’t work
Then the cable may have been damaged or the connector on the board. I would double check all the connections and clean them if possible.
Vincent Stevenson thank you
@@Nanina127 If you buy Motherboard with Touch ID, then the sensor will also work
Isnt there a fingerprint programmer on ebay like a re-learner
hey you need the original screen from apple too
Exactly i changed the screen of a iphone 7 and the original home button didn’t work... i guess im screwed lol.
Is this true???
What if I used the old home button on my replacement screen. Would that allow it to work?
StarSun yes Ive done many
Mine didn’t work still doesn’t work trying to find a solution

I reopened and reconnected all the ribbon wires and now it works fine. I guess I didn't connect them well.

there are loads of screen on ebay how do you know if your buying a decent quality screen
I usually buy used Apple screens as they are much higher quality than the “new” third party screens

I got both
you can get a bluetooth home button but its super dumb to use
Why won’t my home button work on a new screen?
Cause the original home button is has an id, by replacing the screen , the iPhone won’t recognise the new phone button as it has a different Id
You have to program the screen

same here that’s the problem

Less talk and more work. I understand it’s a step by step repair but too much unnecessary rambling.

FAKE you cant change the home button to another motherboard! :|
