Hi there, Even I am in a bit of confusion between cb350RS and ADV 250. Can you help me here with few questions? 1) Does 250cc feel less for long rides? 2) I also heard 250 ADV has few vibrations but the question is how much does it vibrate and is it something that we cannot live without? 3) What is your take on KTMs reliability over long term (3/4 + years) as compared to Honda cb350RS? 4) Also, how much confidence do you feel while cornering 250 ADV especially because it has smaller mrf tyres compared to Honda? Would really appreciate if you can help me with these. Thanks!!!
Hi, thanks for the comment. 1. No, the 250 doesn't feel like a bottleneck for long rides. But if you want to cruise above 100kmph constantly, it'll feel a bit strained. It can pull it off, but I personally don't feel comfortable. 2. There's always a buzzy vibe in the KTM, that is something you can definitely live with and adjust to, but in lower RPM's there's rattling vibrations which could annoy you forever. The front section vibrates like crazy in lower RPM's. 4k is the sweetest spot for shifting and to cruise at a lower level RPM. 3. Compared to a Honda, KTM's reliability is considerably inferior. I have a Gixxer from 2015, I still find that bike to be smoother and refined than this one. So in the short term itself it doesn't fare well. 4. There's absolutely no issue in cornering and cornering confidence. The only thing is you have to get used to the center of gravity. But compared to a street sport build it definitely lacks in front end feel due to higher front suspension travel and longer wheelbase. But you can keep up with the Duke's and RC's in twisties. You can check my "Descending Ponmidi Hills" video (ruclips.net/video/0C-gBidc7YA/видео.html) to know the cornering capabilities of the bike. You're welcome 🤗 Hope you found the reply useful.
I am also a proud owner of 250 adv, I use additional seat and it really helps in avoiding sore bums. It's also gives relief to lower back but need to get used to it. I finished 450 km in one day and there was no issues on my back and my bums.

Hi, I'm 41 now. Since 19, i have been riding 135 and Rd 350. planning to move towards a better highway cruiser, bought quotations from 2 showrooms at Coimbatore. Took a test ride of 250 adv last week from KTM avinashi road, it was a short ride, almost bumper to bumper traffic. What concerned me was the gear ratio !! felt engine knocking and vibrations on the foot pegs. Though i will use the 250 adv for highway cruising, the behaviour of the engine confuses me. Also, it would be of great help if you share the break up of your OTR price along with life tax, Rto charges etc etc. I saw your previous video of you riding your friend's 250. I live very close to the locality where you drove the bike. Shall we meet over a cup of coffee??
Hi Sir, first of all thank you for your time. Coming to your point, the bike does have small vibrations, the kind which is buzzy instead of the one's found in old RE's. In bumper to bumper traffic, you have to be on the right gear (mostly the first) otherwise, there is engine knocking. But in the one I purchased and broke in, it is better than my friends. Warming up the engine is vital for this bike and proper break in as well. The gear ratio is something which I don't like as well, they should have put in more effort in that front. For me, other than the bumper to bumper situations, I enjoy the bike and it's a good highway motorcycle with good capability to glide through bad roads (might require a slight tweak in suspension from the default setting). I would love to meet and share my experience; unfortunately I'm no longer in that locality. I've been transferred as a part of work. If you're not in a hurry, I do plan a ride to north western TN (probably within a month). I will provide the breakup after checking the papers. After I took delivery, there has been a hike in price if I'm not wrong.

There is heating to the levels I explained in this video and I mentioned about the vibrations too. Unless you're above 7k RPM, the vibrations are not felt at least in my case. I think even though it's a high revving bike, one has to ride it with some respect to avoid engine issues and vibrations. Yes, seat height can be an issue for many, but it doesn't feel heavy once you're on the bike. The one problem I have with the SX 250 is the average suspension travel at 120mm. We'll have to wait and see.

Compared to the smoothness of the Gixxer this is a coarse ride, you get vibrations on the foot pegs, handlebars and the body unless you're riding in the sweet spot of the bike always (which is not practical). People are facing many issues. I only have the cold start issue and KTM says it's normal. If you are 100% ok with Vstrom 250; as a Suzuki rider it might feel more at home. (please do multiple test rides and decide, I personally don't find the Vstrom suited for me).
I would have still gone for the KTM for myself due to two reasons: 1. The suspension travel on the Suzuki is 120mm, that is as much as the Splendor, whereas for the KTM it's 170mm. 2. This could be a reason for me and tall riders - The seat height is 835mm and the ground clearance is 205mm, translating to a cramped position when compared to the KTM. When it was announced I was sad to be honest, felt like I should have waited a bit more but after checking the specifications; I don't regret my decision.

I wanted to take a bike which could go some level of off road and I wanted the seat height to be really high, which is why the Dominar was not in my list. I know that it can be confusing since I included the CB 350 RS, but that was an option mainly because I loved the smooth engine and the retro look of the bike.
Ktm can provide you lot of power and all that at low price...but ktm is never smooth like honda the engine and gearbox honda No 1...also KTM engine doesnt last very long it needs full overhaul new block piston crank etc....and parts and labour is expensive KTM and once you open the engine and remake it...its never the same
I would have still went for the KTM. I needed a tall bike, the high set footpegs and relatively lower seat height on the Suzuki will give me a cramped position. Plus I enjoy the suspension travel of the KTM
I would say it is not so good above 60kmph. A taller aftermarket visor will be better. I sit a little bit backwards to avoid full on direct blast and it does help a bit. In this scenario, even 100kmph is kind of okay but you're not free to sit forward.
V-Strom is nice BUT heavy. CRF250Adventure is nice BUT heavy. The CRF250L (not L'S) is maybe the best choice for your country and only 140 kg weight, my opinion. In return not a good Highway bike. The KTM250 Adventure is nice BUT heavy and needs more servicing than the Honda, Honda is a better bike for having not to service that much. I am poor and do not want to much money into servicing fees. KTM is fast, 30 hp --> nice 👍🏼 but speed is not everything. Reliability going and arriving at destination. 73, JR2FJI Japan
While I totally agree with you, Honda doesn't sell that in India, most of the overseas brands operating in India, take Indian customers for granted and many of the so called "adventure" bikes are just iterations of their street sport counterpart with a different gearing and more suspension. Hope it changes for good. I thank you for your time and valuable comment.
For me personally, the Xpulse offers a cramped riding posture due to the foot-pegs being set higher and seat offers lesser comfort. Moreover I wanted a more road oriented, but take it through broken patches kind of bike.
Hi, I'm really sorry to say I can't advice you on that topic as I've never rode a Suzuki Vstrom 250. I highly recommend that you go for test drive to understand the bike based on your needs and then make a choice. Because most recommendations are based on personal preferencces. I will try my best to at least have a test ride of the Vstrom 250. Thank you so much for your time :)

I won't say it feels comfortable, rather it's okay in those conditions. In city and traffic, primary concerns are heating (it's manageable but irritating nevertheless) and the sheer length and width of handlebars make it tricky to move around with ease. The one good thing is, you get a commanding view over most cars and other two and three wheelers so you can decide where to go.

What about Suzuki vstrom 250 ..if u have option will u go for that bike instead of ktm250
I would have still gone for the KTM for myself due to two reasons:

Suzuki service cost
Is it high for the 250? I own the first gen Gixxer (155), it costs under 1k for me. The bill for previous one was 923.

My height is 188 cm. How it suits tall rider?
It will suit you really well. I'm 180 and I find it to be really good. Thank you very much for your time & support. Ride safe.
why didnt u think of dominar 400?
I wanted to take a bike which could go some level of off road and I wanted the seat height to be really high, which is why the Dominar was not in my list. I know that it can be confusing since I included the CB 350 RS, but that was an option mainly because I loved the smooth engine and the retro look of the bike.
Ktm can provide you lot of power and all that at low price...but ktm is never smooth like honda the engine and gearbox honda No 1...also KTM engine doesnt last very long it needs full overhaul new block piston crank etc....and parts and labour is expensive KTM and once you open the engine and remake it...its never the same
Thank you very much for sharing this information 😊
Do you face any difficulty due to tall seat height?
No, I don't face difficulty due to the seat height. I have fully planted foot on both sides.
Should have chosen Suzuki Vstorm 250 SX
I would have still went for the KTM. I needed a tall bike, the high set footpegs and relatively lower seat height on the Suzuki will give me a cramped position. Plus I enjoy the suspension travel of the KTM
Hii there, can I know the sweet spot of the KTM adv 250.
I would say it is anywhere from 6000 to 8000 rpm; it is good beyond that too; but I felt this rev range to be better.
How good is the wind visor protection bro? upto what speed it holds good?
I would say it is not so good above 60kmph. A taller aftermarket visor will be better. I sit a little bit backwards to avoid full on direct blast and it does help a bit. In this scenario, even 100kmph is kind of okay but you're not free to sit forward.
@@wheelsontarmac Thanks for your reply 👍🏻
V-Strom is nice BUT heavy.
CRF250Adventure is nice BUT heavy.
The CRF250L (not L'S) is maybe
the best choice for your country
and only 140 kg weight, my opinion.
In return not a good Highway bike.
The KTM250 Adventure is nice BUT
heavy and needs more servicing than the Honda, Honda is a better bike for
having not to service that much.
I am poor and do not want to much money into servicing fees.
KTM is fast, 30 hp --> nice 👍🏼
but speed is not everything.
Reliability going and arriving
at destination.

How about xpulse 200 4v?
For me personally, the Xpulse offers a cramped riding posture due to the foot-pegs being set higher and seat offers lesser comfort. Moreover I wanted a more road oriented, but take it through broken patches kind of bike.
Suzuki vstom 250 or ktm250?
Hi, I'm really sorry to say I can't advice you on that topic as I've never rode a Suzuki Vstrom 250. I highly recommend that you go for test drive to understand the bike based on your needs and then make a choice. Because most recommendations are based on personal preferencces. I will try my best to at least have a test ride of the Vstrom 250. Thank you so much for your time :)
yezdi adv or ktm adv 250 which should I go for
How tall are you and how is your use case scenario? Are you more focused off road or only mild off roads?
@@wheelsontarmac meri height theek hai mene short video daala hai dekhlo bike pe kitne per tik rahe hai 5'10

Then you can go for the KTM, Yezdi will have limited service centres too.

Himalayan & yezdi adv price is 2.85 now so its not a big deal to spend another 30k too. I think ktm adv service cost is cheaper than himalayan
and is this bike comfortable in cities and traffic
I won't say it feels comfortable, rather it's okay in those conditions. In city and traffic, primary concerns are heating (it's manageable but irritating nevertheless) and the sheer length and width of handlebars make it tricky to move around with ease. The one good thing is, you get a commanding view over most cars and other two and three wheelers so you can decide where to go.
so i am looking for an all rounder bike for touring offroading and city so can I go with this?
@@BotGamer-nc8vf Yes, this will do the job. You'll have to get used to riding in the city that's all.

if you can afford a 390, go for it. 250 is the next best
Agar 250 try karne ke time pe power kam hei aur thoda extra power se acha feel aatha hei to 390 le lo. Traction control vala feature ka koi faida nahi. Test ride kiya aap?

Is it better in city too? compare to cb350rs
I would say the CB350 RS will be better in the city.
@RUN True. For the CB 350 torque of 30Nm is available at 3000rpm whereas the 24nm on 250 is available at 7500rpm; which is a mistake on KTM's part.

i am 5'10 will I be able to rest my feet on the ground properly btw what is your height
I'm 180cms, I think you'll have planted foot on one side and would have to tip-toe with the other. I don't think it would be an issue unless you are in situations where you require both legs to wade (given you go for off-road rides).

Its been more than two months since i booked my KTM in Bangalore,
For me, it was delivered within 15 days. They mentioned that they had 2 bikes ready to be delivered and only paperwork is required.
2 months is a long wait, have you checked with other KTM dealers in Bangalore? You can also email KTM regarding this.
Tried calling and mailing KTM pune however no response

Sir why you dont choose 390 KTM Adv?
Because for me personally I did not feel the requirement for that extra power. And I couldn't find paying extra 1L to be a value for money proposition.
There are no issues with the 390 though, it's a beautiful machine.
