  • In this French Connections Plus, Genie Godula and Florence Villeminot continue their tour of Paris with a stop in the lesser known 13th arrondissement. It sits down in the southeastern corner of the city and was annexed into the capital in 1860 by Napoleon the 3rd. Most Parisians today know the 13th for its enormous Chinatown or its famous animation school Les Gobelins. But the area has a lot more to offer and there’s an interesting backstory to how it became the 13th.

The 13th is literally one of the best place to eat in Paris. If you're into Asian food essentially but a there's a lot of diversity

The pool is typically Art Deco, not Art Nouveau ☺️

Actually it may look Art déco, but the façade and the vaults are clearly Art Nouveau (quite minimalist though). The architect, Louis Bonnier, is considered to be at the intersection between Art Nouveau and Modernism. The piscine de Pontoise, piscine Pailleron or piscine Molitor are typical Art Déco Parisian swimming pools in Paris.

Yes, the big one is too big but the small jacket is a fitted style.

13 th is one of my favorite borough, I prefer Butte aux Cailles over Butte Montmartre. But don't say it too much, it's better as it is today and it's more crowded than 10 years ago.
Chinese part has good restaurants, asian supermarkets and a nice atmosphere but it's not very "sexy".

Chris Renaud is wearing a Yellowstone coat - my opinion of him has gone down - too much toxic masculinity on that show

You show cartoon illustrations as of your embarrassed by what actual photos would reveal
